Morning. Half term here. DS is at MIL's for a few days so I'm all on me Tod having enforced bed rest. He scored another try yesterday - only his second in 2.5 years - and this was actually a run in one!! It was like a scene from one of those awful American sports movies. The crowd was cheering him on, his coach was screaming from the sidelines and when he scored his team mates were all giving him high fives, back slaps & hugs. He got the Try Of The Match award for it too, bless!

Mummylin · 24/10/2016 12:08

Well done to Ikl,s ds on his try ! Bet you felt dead chuffed for him.

iklboo · 24/10/2016 13:31

I was screaming like a banshee Lin Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 24/10/2016 15:49

No half term at all here in the great white north. We did have a 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving a few weeks back.

Hope your prep for tomorrow is going ok Zombie.

Mummylin · 24/10/2016 16:27

I have been like that at footi matches Ikl. Sometimes I've not been able to watch ! Especially my gs,s team. It can be extremely nerve wracking !!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 24/10/2016 19:08

Hope you're feeling strong about tomorrow Z, will be thinking of you.

It's so terrifying watching them play rugby, and sooo exciting when they score a try or make a steal, more bloody exhausting for us than them I reckon!

How's it going Hearts?

Mummylin · 24/10/2016 19:22

Good luck for tomorrow Zombie, hope everything will go smoothly and that somehow you can fit a meal in !

HerSpookyFattyness · 24/10/2016 20:13

Good luck for tomorrow zombie

Radioactive Zombie is home.

I left home at 08.15 and had an easy run to the hospital (thank you half term). I only made one mistake when I was about a mile from the hospital. I missed a right hand turn but realised almost immediately so just turned around as soon as I could and found the turn on the way back. It took 15 minutes to find a parking space; naturally it was as far from where my appointment was as it is possible to be.

Royal Stoke University Hospital is a maze and a half. I eventually found the PET-CT unit with the help of a nice consultant. The whole process took about 2 hours from when I was called through. I needn't have worried so much about lying still. A Zombie without coffee (only water allowed for 6 hours before the appointment) is a sleepy Zombie. Once they had injected me and I got comfortable, I took a nap. They woke me up, let me use the loo and then put me in the scanner where I promptly dozed off again.

When I was finished I inhaled a sandwich and a vanilla latte at one of the hospital Costa concessions before heading home. Traffic was heavier on the way back but still not too bad.

I have a clear day tomorrow. Car goes in for service and MOT on Thursday. Friday it's back to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for my (probably optimistic) pre-chemo bloods.

I am going to try to avoid any more naps today in the hope I can start getting my sleep pattern back under control.

So glad it went better than you expected Z - just put her feet up and chill now. Anything nice planned for tomorrow?

When will you get the results?

iklboo · 25/10/2016 16:38

Her?? YOUR feet up!!

Wolfiefan · 25/10/2016 16:54

Really glad to hear sleepy Zombie hasn't had the most traumatic day. Hoping today has tired you out enough to allow for some sleep tonight. Shall keep it all crossed for the bloods. (Can we have a fingers crossed emoticon for zombie MN?!)

Fiderer · 25/10/2016 16:58

Good to hear that snoozy Z.

If you stay glowing till Halloween you could charge people to view an authentic glowing Zombie. And word would get around and you'd never be bothered by Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons again.

IamtheZombie · 25/10/2016 17:19

ikl, that depends on whether you consider laundry, re-cycling and cleaning house "nice". My oncologist should receive the results by the end of the week but I won't get them until my next clinic appointment which will probably be 24/11. There's till a regular CT scan and an MRI scan to be done. Doctor wants all those results before seeing me.

Fid, I should stop glowing by around 10.00 this evening. ZombieCats are pissed off that I keep chasing them away. I reckon if I need to avoid pregnant women and children until then that small puss cats are safer at a distance from mummy.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/10/2016 17:28

Just the last 10 minutes my posts have gone pink, they used to be grey, don't like it!

Wolfiefan · 25/10/2016 17:57

Bewitched I'm so glad you said that. Me too! I thought I'd broken the interweb again!

Mummylin · 25/10/2016 22:10

Glad the day wasn't quite as bad as expected. Sounds like you have got plenty of things to be keeping you busy over the next couple of days. Just don't do it all in one go !!

HerSpookyFattyness · 25/10/2016 22:15

I'm glad today went better than expected zombie have you stopped glowing now?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 25/10/2016 22:49

Wolfie I've seen the thread on Site Suff about the new colours and been quietly smug because mine were as they've always been.

I think we can change them but since bloody JeffGate I've been too scared to go into Settings in case I get obliterated forever Grin

Wolfiefan · 25/10/2016 22:51

I don't even know where settings are! Confused

HerSpookyFattyness · 25/10/2016 22:57

As far as I know we can't change these new colours. We are stuck with the bloody awful things. I liked my old colours, but nooooo. They had to go and faff about with stuff.

magimedi · 26/10/2016 08:56

You can change colours - well I did yesterday when OP threads turned to lime green - have got them back to a sort of olive-y green.

Glad yesterday went as well as it could, Zombie.

HerSpookyFattyness · 26/10/2016 09:13

Nope, just tried it and the colours haven't changed at all. Hmm stupid new colours.

magimedi · 26/10/2016 09:16

I'm using desktop which I think isn't affected.
