How are you zombie?

Flowers for the ones with lurgy

Fiderer · 19/10/2016 18:54

Well, I'm back

Called Zombie which was lovely but promised to call again before I left. Couldn't as got waylaid by events - sorry Z

Had pork pies. Went to the coast. Beach walks. Lots of lovely little Norfolk villages. A few days in the Fine City of Norwich. Several thousand pounds poorer after FidGirl and I found several book shops.

Barefoot in the garden in the sunshine reading a proper paper made of proper paper. Drinking champagne at lunchtime just because.

Sigh. Was v restful. Ho hum. Back in Forrin.

Fiderer · 20/10/2016 07:12

The champagne thing was my mum, btw. She said she buys it but won't drink it alone. So I selflessly offered to help her.

PET scan next Tuesday at Royal Stoke University Hospital. 90 minute minimum drive time each way + 3 hours at hospital = long day.

Slightly nervous.

That must be very scary for you zombie plus a long drive and a long day. Sending you love and knowing we will all be with you 🌺💐🌺💐

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/10/2016 00:09

That is a really tough day Z, is there no-one who could keep you company, or even drive you?

You have so many friends, and your lovely niece-in-law, I'm sure they'd step up.

Knowing you, you don't like to ask, and I can readily understand that, but please do consider that people might love the opportunity to help if only you'd give them the chance.

HerSpookyFattyness · 21/10/2016 09:41

Is there anyone who can go with you zombie?

Mummylin · 21/10/2016 10:06

Can you go up the day before Zombie and stay overnight so you don't have to do it all in one day ?

IamtheZombie · 21/10/2016 12:16

I'm frankly more concerned that I can have nothing to eat or drink except water for 6 hours before the scan. That means I'd need to get up around 04.00 am if I want a cup of coffee. Also I won't be able to move AT ALL for 90 - 120 minutes. I can't even read as that would involve moving my hands / arms. That is going to be a challenge and a half!

And no, there really is no one who can go with me. I have asked in the past and folk are very sorry but... And I understand that; they have their own lives, their jobs and commitments to their own families.

I'll be fine.

HerSpookyFattyness · 21/10/2016 12:21

Sad I'd go with you if I could.

IamtheZombie · 21/10/2016 12:24

Even though I'll be highly radioactive, HSF? Pity the appointment isn't on Halloween. I'd be a glow in the dark Zombie.

HerSpookyFattyness · 21/10/2016 12:33

Nothing wrong with a bit of radiation Grin
Glow in the dark zombie sounds cool though.
DS1 has a hearing test on Halloween. He was very annoyed when I told him he cannot wear his killer clown costume to his appointment.

Fiderer · 21/10/2016 13:59

Glowing may well be helpful these days, what with the nights drawing in.

God she was a pain Grin

StealthPolarBear · 21/10/2016 16:37

I hope it's not as tiring as you think. Nice cup of coffee in cup holder on the way back? X

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/10/2016 17:35

You can light up the ravine for us and we can all play shadow games Grin

iklboo · 23/10/2016 21:44

Seems like we've had a bit of radio silence - or has my link not picked up for a bit?

Hope everything is ok with you Zombie and you're not worrying too much about Tuesday? Fingers crossed but I'm sure everything will be fine. I'll be thinking about you.

Hope everyone else in the phalanx is in fine fettle too. Here's this week's Strictly round up for anyone who wants to know what went on.....

Strictly Week Five - who's Stayin' Alive?

Mummylin · 23/10/2016 22:30

Great writing as usual Ikl, you def have a way with words ! I am glad that the judge is still in and I have a grudging respect for Ed, even though he is pretty hopeless. But he is trying his best and is fun.

Wolfiefan · 23/10/2016 22:36

Sneaking in for a virtual handhold. It's a school holiday this week or I would happily hold those hands still for a couple of hours. (Think I glow anyway. Stupid family thinking days out at Sellafield are a good fecking idea!) I have the little wolfies home though and dread to think what radiation would do to wolfiesprogs. Werewolfies?!
Halloween Shock

HerSpookyFattyness · 23/10/2016 22:46

Werewolfies! Halloween Grin

Anyone want a refresher bar?

Wolfiefan · 23/10/2016 22:48

Did you say bar? I'm having a cheeky glass of white. It's still the weekend right?! Shock

HerSpookyFattyness · 23/10/2016 22:50

wolfie Halloween Grin definitely still the weekend. Unfortunately I don't have half term until next week. And tomorrow I'm volunteering in the nursery. So no booze for me.

Wolfiefan · 23/10/2016 23:25

Half term started here on Thursday. We are off all next week. Volunteering in the nursery? With small ones? I'd need a hip flask! Shock

Fiderer · 24/10/2016 06:13

Morning, glowy one.

Back to school here today. Just shoved the Fidlets out the door. Hate the dark mornings.

Can't moan too much I s'pose, we get 2 weeks in October.

HerSpookyFattyness · 24/10/2016 08:06

wolfie I've come to the conclusion that I am slightly insane

Wolfiefan · 24/10/2016 08:22

Haha Spooky. Volunteering and nursery were the giveaways?! Wink
