Evening.

Physio went well. The physiotherapist reckons I may have full range of motion back by my next appointment in 2 weeks.

Unfortunately I can't say the same about my digestive system. I'm considering shoving a stick of dynamite up my arse.

I am starting to get worried. I just have no urge to evacuate my bowels. The one laxative (Movicol) has worked to the extent that the poo is soft. It just doesn't come out. I think tonight I'm going to take both Movicol and Senna (as the Senna apparently stimulates the bowel to move). If that hasn't worked by tomorrow I'll raise it with the nurses on Friday. I'm half tempted to ask for Moviprep which is used to clear out the entire bowel before a colonoscopy. Although I suspect they may want to check that there's no bowel obstruction first.

Perhaps you need to adjust your diet a little bit?

Porridge for breakfast followed by a bowl of stewed dried fruit salad, figs apricots and prunes, add some spices like cinnamon and cardomon?
Hot water with a slice of lemon when you first wake up.
Plenty of roughage like raspberries, apricots, sauerkraut, stewed pears (in season ATM!).
Is that the type of thing you are already eating?

Get yourself sorted out with how things are at the moment, then you can get a new plan in place.

Mummylin · 21/09/2016 21:51

That must be making you feel so uncomfortable Zombie. Could it be anything to do with your sphincter muscles that just aren't working correctly ? It s a horrible feeling. I have often had to eat loads of prunes in similar situations ! If the things you take tonight don't do the trick you will be doing the right thing by telling hospital on Friday.

HerRoyalFattyness · 22/09/2016 01:14

That must be awful zombie

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 22/09/2016 01:51

Dates are really good too. Or a verrrrrry strong cup of coffee and a fag Smile

Mummylin · 22/09/2016 12:28

Hope things have improved this morning Zombie and there has been a poonami !

IamtheZombie · 22/09/2016 18:53

Zombie is a dimwit.

I was woken up by a call from the Chemo Day Centre at 9.15 this morning asking if I was having my bloods done today. Well, yes, said I. After a few more minutes it dawned on me that today was the day I was scheduled for chemo. As I've been scheduled on a Friday for the last few weeks I assumed (NEVER ASSUME) that it was due tomorrow. Cue frantic shower / dress / take morning meds and jump in the car. Long story short CDC drew my blood, I went off for coffee and food, sat in the sunshine for half an hour and went back to CDC at 1.45. Bloods still too low for chemo. We'll try again on Monday, 3 October.

I had also mentioned my continuing bowel problems so they eventually found a doctor to examine me. She sent me for an abdominal x-ray which showed nothing of great concern. I'm to double the dose of Movicol. If that brings no joy they will try suppositories next.

At least I got to read a lot of my book.

You are NOT a dimwit.

Much love as always.

Mummylin · 22/09/2016 20:45

Easy mistake to make Zombie. I'm surprised there aren't more mistakes with all the apts you have to attend, I think you do bloody well.
Sorry nothing shifted yet, keeps fingers crossed that all will be empty tomorrow !

Allalonenow · 23/09/2016 00:07

No wonder you've had a bit of a glitch with the appointments, they've been chopped and changed so much recently that it's a wonder you can keep track at all!

How many days is it now until ZombieLad arrives?

HerRoyalFattyness · 23/09/2016 07:51

I'd be even more confused if it was me zombie

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/09/2016 18:01

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a panic yesterday Z and that chemo has been delayed again.

Mummylin · 23/09/2016 22:42

Just been to see Jethro, it was the rudest show I have ever seen and was bloody brilliant !! So many jokes. All of which I have forgotten!
Zombie how are you today ?

IamtheZombie · 24/09/2016 00:08

Let's not get too excited but I'm pleased to report that the double dose of Movicol may be starting to help. There was slight movement this morning. But best of all, tonight for the first time in months eating has not been followed by extreme bloating and pain.

OP posts:
Mummylin · 24/09/2016 10:44

Great to see that you could eat without feeling any pain. It must be awful when it's so unrelenting. Glad the movical seems to of started working. Let's hope for even more success today !

Susiesoap7 · 25/09/2016 10:03

That's bit better news zombie, may it continue to give you relief 🌸🌸🌸

Allalonenow · 25/09/2016 22:59

How are you doing Zombie? Are you still wamblecropt? I do hope you are feeling better by now.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/09/2016 09:25

Morning Zombie
Glad to hear that are things "on the move" 😉 and that eating isn't causing undesirable after effects.

Your mad dash reminded me that I forgot to take DD to her ENT appointment and that reminded me that DS3 still hasn't been offered a speech therapy assessment date, it's been almost a year after his tongue tie op....hmmmm

Leftover cake anyone?🍰🍰🍰

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/09/2016 18:02

Glad to hear things are improving.

marriednotdead · 26/09/2016 21:07

Good evening Zombie and the ever faithful Phlanx Smile

I've been trying to keep up although I lurk more than I post Blush

Wishing your bowel contents a long overdue departure in the very near future. Zombie, I cannot begin to imagine how uncomfortable days of retention must be. (I have IBS and the opposite issue!) Will be crossing everything that you can resume your chemo ASAP. Delighted to hear of Zombielads engagement and impending visit Smile

Nowt terribly exciting happening in my world. Off to spend the day with the 3 youngest members of the family tomorrow- a niece and two nephews have arrived in the last 13 months after a 13 year hiatus! The age gap with siblings means that I became a grandmother before the youngest two became parents.
Have just spent a few days in the south of France with closest sis, her DP and my cantankerous mother. She's saying she won't be well enough to go again (75, T2 diabetic and chain smoker) and I can't say I'm sorry, she's still a narcissistic PITA. She'll probably outlive all of us...

Fiderer · 27/09/2016 06:43

Hope things continue to improve. Rotten when food & eating is such a problem.

Had a vile lurgy last week and didn't eat for 4 days. Then back at work yesterday thought I'd pass out. Was in the school canteen sorting lists/finances & one wonderful woman offered me lunch but I had no cash on me. She brought me lunch for free. It was like the sun coming out Grin

HerRoyalFattyness · 27/09/2016 09:34

Hope you're OK today zombie.

IamtheZombie · 27/09/2016 12:03

Hello Phalanx.

Some of you may have seen on FB that a Windows 10 update fucked my laptop. It's still semi-fucked but I was able get it working long enough this morning to retrieve a few passwords before it fell over again. I'm on my tablet and finding it hard going.

Bowels are a bit on again / off again but better than they were.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 27/09/2016 13:59

MS has a lot to answer for with that Windows 10. Hope you get it sorted.
