Heading north this morning ready for baby duty all day tomorrow!

Will be offline till Sunday night.

Will be thinking of you Z.

IamtheZombie · 16/09/2016 09:37

Well bugger. Bloods are low again. BUT, they want me to come in around 12.00 so they can repeat them today. I wish I was more optimistic.

HerRoyalFattyness · 16/09/2016 09:44

Oh fuck. That's no good zombe
Fingers crossed for some sort of miracle today.

Mummylin · 16/09/2016 10:30

Oh Zombie, how long can you go without having your chemo ? It's been two or three weeks now hasn't it. Fingers crossed new tests will show you can get your treatment ASAP.

IamtheZombie · 16/09/2016 14:35

No prizes for guessing who is NOT sitting with a cannula in her arm receiving chemo.

Deferred for another week. Oncologist is going to consult with haemotology in the mean time.

I'm getting close to the fecking edge now.

Fiderer · 16/09/2016 15:32

Oh Z. Why can't they boost your bloods with something? Same effect as the body producing them, surely?

Have several hugs and some Flowers

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 17/09/2016 01:21

Zombie that's really terrible Flowers

Mummylin · 17/09/2016 10:27

You must be feeling so disappointed Zombie. It surely is about 3 weeks or more since you should of had this last bout of treatment.it must be horrible fir you not knowing when you will be getting it. Hope bloods improve in the next few days.

IamtheZombie · 17/09/2016 13:49

lin, I haven't been able to have treatment since July so it's actually been 8 weeks since my last chemo.

Mummylin · 17/09/2016 15:33

Oh my god Zombie. That is awful. Do you know how long it is safe for your chemo to be put back ? I can't believe all that time has passed already. Let's hope this week sees a huge improvement in your blood so you can carry on with your treatment. On a brighter note how is Zombielad getting on ?

iklboo · 17/09/2016 15:40

Oh bloody hell Zombie that's a sack of cack. I'm sorry to hear you've still not managed to have your chemo. Fingers firmly crossed and loads of positive vibes for better bloods this week and you get your treatment.

IamtheZombie · 17/09/2016 16:06

It's really more of a case of when it is safe to resume the chemo, lin. I just have to wait and see if the hematologist has any bright ideas.

ZombieLad is doing very well. He and his fiancee have now publicly announced their engagement. We're also counting down the days until Christmas.

Mummylin · 19/09/2016 22:03

Hi Zombie, hope you managed to have a decent weekend. Are you feeling more like yourself now ? Let's hope this will be the week you get your treatment.
Horrible day here today, still raining now and to top all that, I've had no internet all day !! Shocking. I had to do ironing instead !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 19/09/2016 22:17

Really sorry to hear the news Z, has anyone mentioned a platelet transfusion, does that exist?

Just so frustrating to not get an alternative offered.

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 19/09/2016 22:29

Chin up Z.

Every day's a new day.

Xxx

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2016 22:38

Platelet transfusions or something similar must exist because my mum had one once, back in the 80's or 90's. She has something called Von Willebrands syndrome which causes a platelet deficiency so in order to have some major surgery and not bleed out on the table, she had a transfusion so that her blood would clot. And if that was 20 or 30 years ago I imagine medical knowledge has moved on since then & hopefully they have something even better now.

Sigh. My medical ignorance is so evident with lack of proper terminology! Sometimes I really wish I had gone to medical school.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2016 22:40

They have to do something soon. They just have to. 8 weeks is an eternity. ((((Hugs))))

IamtheZombie · 19/09/2016 23:04

They don't do a transfusion until the count drops to 20 or less.

I've had my Movicol nightcap so I'm off to bed now. I have a physiotherapy appointment at the hospital at 10.00 tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
HerRoyalFattyness · 19/09/2016 23:21

Hope things improve this week zombie

Allalonenow · 20/09/2016 00:16

You got on well at the physio last time and felt better afterwards, so let's hope they work their magic again for you. Smile

Ironing lin what's that?

Mummylin · 21/09/2016 00:00

How did the physio session go Zombie ?
