What is it with us lot and insects at the mo? And why do long-legged hairy house spiders freak me out, but I can pick up daddy-long-legs with my hands? I hoovered up a big spider once, and had to hoover the entire house afterwards to get enough dirt into the cylinder so i couldn't see the dead spider in there anymore. Ants would have been much easier to hide

I once attacked a small spider with a can of hairspray and then I could get past it to get the Yellow Pages. It died but it went with a lovely hairdo.

I have loads of those very spindly ones that don't move much - they just mooch around the ceiling slowly making messy webs & I can't be arsed to deal with them. They also catch other spiders so are quite useful.
Oh, and there's the spider that lives under the lamp in my front room - too difficult to get to, so he/she gets to stay too!

Spindly ones are fine, they don't move fast enough to be scary. I was hoovering around them today
