And Oh!!!! LetUs!!! On our excusion where we saw the very young well groomed HBF, I found an actual honest-to-god hayloft. Fancy thought it was hysterical, DH and DS were very at my inexplicable enthusiasm

Afternoon all...cracking day int it. This is my kind of weather. I've palmed the kids off on an unsuspecting friend and am off on a date with mrElk. It's BabYElk's first ever sleepover, I'm wearing a dress that I can't wear a bra with. What could possibly go wrong? And no, before you ask, I haven't gone full on wench and left the pants off too!

Alas we didn't make it to PPW , we spent too long lounging around eating bacon sandwiches before checking how long it would take to get there and left it far too late to go
I've promised the small Elks we'll go next time we're down there we will never be able to go there again

Afternoon! Phew, what a lovely day. DGS1 has spent the afternoon driving DH's remote controlled golf trolley into the flower beds round the lawn with his teddy on board while I lay in the sun supervised.

We caught up with the last episode of Versailles last night. It just gets better and better, can't wait for series 2.

We also watched the first ep of the new series of Ripper Street. Can't say I understood it, although I may have dropped off a couple of times.

elk - I can see no potential for anything to go wrong with any of your plans. And am v. impressed with your "next time we're there..." parenting strategy. Mind you - that wouldn't work on DS - he'd be a broken record asking when we were going back.

I believe it's quite hot outside. I've been out a couple of times to get away from the screen, and have managed to get bitten by a horsefly. FFS. I'll be the one propped at the bar with a balloon instead of a knee...

Should I persevere with Versailles? Haven't been able to get into it so far. But only tried episode 1.

I am back at work after three weeks with kids. They are in France with their Dad then going to their grandparents' from , so I am nipping up there for bank holiday Monday.

Ds has been ill in France but apparently getting better now.

Terrible thing is that while I am working in the daytime but have evenings free, person-i- would-like-to-spend -the-time-with is on nights!

Versaille gets better MoreLike and I really enjoyed it, though was about the fact that the end of the series just leaves you hanging (waiting for S2.)

Silver lining is also that I probably need to use the time to rest a bit. Also I need to do bits of work in the evening. Am out with a friend on Friday night and then seeing aforementioned nightshift worker on Saturday eve.

Have just made the mistake of trying on a load of clothes from my wardrobe which I was kidding myself might still fit although I knew in my head they'd be too small. So many empty hangers now and am fed up that there are quite a few things I loved but don't fit any more.
