I honestly don't know why the concept of mogglers irritates me on Mumsnet
after all I used to use Child Models in my previous work (which firmly brought me to the opinion of ' over my dead body' for my own children)
if I examine why it might be because Mumsnet was a bit of a sanctuary in the early days .. it was definitely used by well-read, intelligent, articulate women .. which it still is (and I'm sure many mogglers are too)
but about the time it started to get a little more pedestrian there was a HUGE explosion in the number of child modelling threads .. almost taking over active conversations and talking about child modelling .. dull repeating conversations about who's child was with which agency and who's child has 50 million jobs and I'd like to start my child mogelling please tell me how.. and many of THESE posters never ventured into any of the other threads so it was like they were USING space without bringing anything to the site
so I think that left many of the oldies with a dislike for the very concept of child mogelling
I suppose there is also a certain kind of judgement going on about the types of families that put their kids forward for mogelling .. there is definitely a sense that it isn't right for many children who are lugged around castings etc
... this is just IMO and ... well, you did ask...
