No I would say that saying someone was fat was nasty not funny...

I personally woudn't take the piss about personal attributes (fat/ugly/thick) well not to there face anyway....

there is a line between cruel and funny but I think most 'grown ups' can distinguise between the two.....

CountessDracula · 24/01/2007 15:28

bogie I'm sorry but you are proving our point

HEIFER · 24/01/2007 15:30

anyway that wasn't the point... we aren't taking the piss out of the mogellers children are we. (however fugly/prentious some of them may actually be)

we are taking the piss out of the adults who take them mogelling....

ItsMeMellowma · 24/01/2007 15:30

err no I would probably punch her but then I am very hot heated, and do not have fat children...

Bulling and light-hearted piss taking are not the same.

If piss taking is hurtful to someone then it is bullying however innocent it was meant to be.

quadrophenia · 24/01/2007 15:39

My kids moggle i have a profile, no pics of them though. People can make assumptions of me if they like i have posted on mumsnet for years now, I can't be bothered to be offended as I've heard it all before

""If piss taking is hurtful to someone then it is bullying however innocent it was meant to be."" exactly my point i don't care if people take the piss out of me i'm just saying you can serioulsy belive people should expect it if their children model. Making fun or taking the piss out of people is a sign of peoples own insecurity.

housemum · 24/01/2007 16:01

Is it "get the models day" today? OK I know we're an easy sterotype to pick on, but what is it that gets people so heated? Perhaps i should think of some other "types" to pick on (sorry, can't fo that, just realised I'm a moggeller's Mum so am unable to use a brain!!!) Oh, well, at least it's a change from have-a-go-at-SAHMs-day!

Some people who frequent the modelling threads will be a little concerned about posting pics on a forum after the Times article (see link further down) about one person who was obtaining children's pictures for goodness-knows what reason. The person involved also posted on Mumsnet until she was "found out" - so we are not being up-our-own-arses and not posting our kids on there, for my part I'm just too lazy to get round to it but I imagine others have concerns about the fact that MN is so huge you have no idea who may be on there.

Just FYI - I do not have hair extensions/false nails/white stilettoes/belly piercings/child that looks like a "mini-me". My DD does not have Barbie dolls/nail polish/high heels/make-up. No offence to anyone that does have those things, but I guess that's the image of a model's mum you've got.

TTFN - best do a school run

HEIFER · 24/01/2007 16:02

cod - no one takes the piss out of you cause we are scared that you will send DS around with his poncey golf clubs...

bogie - ok then I am just an insecure bovine who really just wants to be loved (and funny).....
