she will be 6 end of the month, its the first casting we have ever been to so to get short listed that must be a good thing? exactly what does it mean

clj118 · 10/01/2007 20:27

I assume it means she is a possible yes for the job, but are still deciding. Its great she has been shortlisted, we are with u/a also. Only since dec, it was dds first casting

cindyl · 10/01/2007 20:42

yeah it is her first casting, i was quite shocked to hear back this moor, she has another tomor for mini boden

clj118 · 10/01/2007 20:44

Another one so soon, well done for your dd.

YummyMummy21 · 10/01/2007 20:48

Well done to your DD and welcome to the thread cindyl

Shortlisted usually means that they are seriously considering using her, usually they shortlist 2 or 3 for same job and leave it to the BIG boss to decide. Its GREAT that she has been shortlisted

BIGMUMMAL sorry to hear that its a NO for your lil man too on the M&S job. Im sure there will be plenty coming his way very soon

CLJ118> Your DD may still get a YES on the M&S they may not have decided on babies yet. If the client says NO then usually you are not told sometimes you are just depends how busy they are.
I think the only reason I found out it was a NO is due to having communication with UA at the time the call came through.

Take care abd ill keep my fingers crossed for your DD.

Take Care all xxxxx

clj118 · 10/01/2007 21:05

Thanks yummy, Good to hear she has the casting for Empire, fingers crossed for your dd.
Waiting to hear is awful, isn't it?

cindyl · 10/01/2007 21:33

how do you guys go about taking your children out of school for castings i dont want my dd to fall behind in her work but then i dont want her to loose out on an oppertunity

YummyMummy21 · 10/01/2007 21:53

CLJ118> Waiting is indeed the worst part of the whole thing. Think i said this earlier. so must be true LoL

Cindy> My daughter is two in a few days so i dont have the school dilema yet. Thankfully. Not sure what ill do when she is at school. Sorry not much help

xxxx

clj118 · 10/01/2007 21:57

Cindy my daughters are 3 and 8 months, my 3 yr old only does mornings in a pre school, so at the moment does not matter too much, sorry can't be of any help.

clj118 · 10/01/2007 22:01

Yummy, I am not the most patient of people either so its really hard for me not too ring them and see if they have heard anything. I don't wanna ring up and annoy them. What are you studying at uni? I am doing an access course in teaching at the moment and hoping to go onto uni in Sept for my teaching degree. Really hard work as the course is very intense, especially with my two dd and still b/f Sienna. It will all be worth it though in the end

YummyMummy21 · 10/01/2007 22:08

REALLY!!!! Im doing Access to Midwifery. Am Applying for Midwifery ADV DIP at the moment. Which will be another three years.
I know what you mean about the course being intense mine is the same, seems like the work doesnt stop. Good one you for still B/F, a friend of mine had to stop as she was finding it too hard to do the study and B/F(probs with milk supply)

You could always email Alysia, that way if she is busy she can reply to you when she has time. ims ure that she wont mind

xxxx

clj118 · 10/01/2007 22:15

Yeah might email her tomorrow and see.

How weird, both doing similar courses, because I am doing teaching I have to do maths and Science equivalences aswell which is extra load on top but saying that I do enjoy the course, just very intense.

xx

cindyl · 10/01/2007 22:15

have you read feb edition of junior they have some amazing pictures in there

cindyl · 10/01/2007 22:17

clj118 i no exactly what you mean about waiting checking your mobile every 2 mins for missed calls

clj118 · 10/01/2007 22:18

cindy, no I have not read febs junior, don't tend to buy many magazines anymore, always distracts me from doing my work lol

Good luck for your dd for tomorrow, what time is her casting?

YummyMummy21 · 10/01/2007 22:20

Yea we do Maths,Biology and Psychology for ours. Will be worth it in the end. Are you doing all your credits at level 3?

xxx

clj118 · 10/01/2007 22:25

Yeah level 3, I need to, are you? its a nightmare, have 6 modules, two each term, Psychology, school based exp, education studies, social science, computers and people and literature, then we have maths equivalence and science equivalence and not forgetting reading academic literature and communication and learning. Mine is 3 days a week, not too bad at the start of each term but then you start getting overloaded with it all!

cindyl · 10/01/2007 22:40

anytime betwen 4 and 6

cindyl · 10/01/2007 22:43

great speaking to you guys, hopefully you will be here tomor so i will let you no how things go?

BigmummaL · 10/01/2007 22:44

clj118 · 10/01/2007 23:00

night all am off to bed

perfumelady · 11/01/2007 10:45

cindyl well done for castings, yes penciled in is good although there is a chance they may not need you, i guess it depends on weither the define yes's can all make the shoot date. penciled in is a bit like being a reserve but good to get penciled in. m&s have such a good choice of beautiful children at there castings so a huge well done.

with regards to the school thing, we are with u/a also and have found that the majority of jobs and castings have been during school time,at 1st i said yes to everything but when castings were becoming to regular i had to say no to a few(and they really don't mind) we always say yes to a job without casting as these are less frequent, but castings you just have to deceide weither you can justify taking your child away from school to often, some castings are between 4-6 which is not so bad. i have a feeling you are going to be really busy u/a just seem to be getting busier and busier, which is great.

perfumelady · 11/01/2007 10:53

cindyl sorry just realised your dd was shortlisted not penciled in. short listed is great, you have as good a chance as any body else .they will have all the short listed photo's, say they need 10 they probably have short listed about 15-20 they would have now studied all the photo's and picked there final yes's out of all that they shortlisted. so fingers crossed.

cindyl · 11/01/2007 11:50

i still aint heard anything yet, do you think i should just wait to hear or shall i phone UA
