Please no mentions of FK or Izzy on here, a new thread can be started when the other one gets full.

Lanismum - where do you live? My DP is an electrician.

lanismum · 30/01/2007 13:39

lolly, we are in east london, hackney, i think dp has found someone out of the phone book now, just waiting for him to call back and confirm as he was driving when he called him, how handy having an electrician dp, wish mine did something handy

Lolly68 · 30/01/2007 13:54

He has his own business - he does alarms as well. I must admit it is great - we have all the latest techonolgy at home - not that I know how to use it!!

When are you due?

lanismum · 30/01/2007 14:22

am due on the 19th April, it really cant come soon enough for me!

mrsratty · 30/01/2007 14:44

Mysons - we live in Hertfordshire so it wasn't too bad to get to, just one train. It was a long walk from the station though.

Lanis - Hope you get the cooker sorted soon. This is the link for the group here

Lolly - Your husband sounds very useful!

My DS has been taken on my 3 agencies in, had 1 job but not had anything in January. Just after advice do people phone the agencies if not heard for a while (how long would you leave it). Hope someone answers.

Thistimenextyear · 30/01/2007 15:48

Hi Christabel

I think it has been generally quiet. DD has had 2 castings but no jobs since Dec. Could give agency a ring and just ask if everyone is quiet, but feel sure its not just your DS. Hopefully will pick up soon. Chin up!

christabel · 30/01/2007 16:22

Thanks for replying you do get a bit paranoid and think your DS is only one not getting any work.

mrsratty · 30/01/2007 16:24

Which agencies are your son with?

We are with a Leeds and Manchester agency as in Leeds. I have tried London agencies which some said they would take on but all jobs are in London so not really worth it. I am just impatient.

mrsratty · 30/01/2007 17:46

You will probably find that you won't get as much work as if you would if you were with a london agency. Good luck, I'm sure something will come up for him.

Hi there - I can't believe we actually have a modelling thread that's lasted over a month! MN is so much easier to keep up with than MSN, problem is trying to remember who's where - too much for my little brain.

Anyone had experience of Boden before? (My sons - I saw you went to a casting, my DD went to one a couple of weeks ago for a shoot in April) - they did say it could be a while before we heard anything, any advice appreciated! DD did Mini Boden but only the baby page, and that was a quick turn-around between casting and job, but there's less involved as they just use a white studio (and babies change so quickly they can't keep you waiting!)

cindyl · 31/01/2007 21:55

my DD did a casting for mini boden 2 weeks ago phoned UA last week they are still waiting to here back apparently, how old is your DD who has just done a casting for them

mysonsmummy · 31/01/2007 22:45

housemum - yes we went on monday - must be the same shoot in april. bit weird really was asked not to go in room with ds5. suppose its a good way to see if they freeze on their own and its not just mum pushing them. ds had to try some clothes on and kick a football around. on form is asked would parents mind if they cut childs hair. err.. YES!!!!! and could they miss school. i read somewhere on here that boden are infamous for their castings. maybe someone could say whats meant by that.

i just wait to hear from agency - i never ring and ask if they have heard yet - just take it as he hasnt if i dont hear. usually i just forget about it tbh its not that important to either of us.

who are you with? ds is with UA since end of last year.

housemum · 31/01/2007 23:42

We're with Bruce & Brown. DD is 3 (will be 4 in April). They did the same with her - asked her to go and leave me waiting. She came running out afterwards wearing their top! (as I pointed out to the lady jokingly, she had said "OK you can go back to Mummy" not "Put your own top on and go to Mummy" so she only did as she was told!). No idea if they asked her to do anything as my DD doesn't tell me anything...

housemum · 31/01/2007 23:44

Oh, I did ask about the hair cutting as my DD has long hair - they said it was really in case they needed a trim, or in extreme cases they have had kids with braids etc that had to be cut out. I put on the form "yes within reason ie not cropped"

Tinkerbel5 · 01/02/2007 10:37

going to start a new thread for february

mysonsmummy · 01/02/2007 13:35

we probably wont get it anyway but i put no. the shoot for M&S is next week so may hear something. UA dont usually let us know if we dont get it though. just shows what being with a good agency is all about. we sat on the books of another agency for two years with not even casting.

ellismummy · 01/02/2007 13:41

mysonsmummy, what agency were you with before? Glad he is doing well now.
