Hello........

OP posts:
mrsratty · 20/11/2006 13:32

Colinfirth - It didn't seem like that when we were there. Was your son happy?

OP posts:
Colinfirth · 20/11/2006 13:38

the section of photo being done when we arrived was fine but the bit DS was in worried me a bit. DS fine most of the day - had gone for a v diff test shoot in the morning with pizza and enjoyed it but was unhappy about the makeup at shoot 2. It probably isn't for him.

mrsratty · 20/11/2006 13:43

It's good he enjoyed the first shoot. Maybe you could ask that he only does commercial shoots so he doesn't have make-up or be in photos you don't feel comfortable with.

phew licence seemes sorted now....and relax!
Hope everyone had a good weekend, intrigued Colinfirth with the sexualised thing, in what way if you don't mind me asking?

2ManyPimms · 20/11/2006 13:47

Afternoon all!!!

Julie - I have no idea when we'll float into the Ted Baker casting. We have another which is on the other side of town which I'll try to do first as TB is over by Kings Cross which will make it easier for us to get home afterwards. Well, if we manage to pass like ships in the night, I'm the woman carrying the newspaper with a rose in her teeth! GOOD LUCK!!!

Mrsratty - We just missed you - you were on your way out and we were on our way in! My DS was a punk-rocker-biker-dude (sorta!) his bit in the photo was to sit on the edge of the table and look at the girl who was the archer. The king was down our end...I wonder when we'll get our complementary shots?

Colinfirth - Was your DS in the tropical-style shirt with the brown curly hair? If so, we saw him just before our shoot finished.

LM - The underground was hellish that day. You were lucky to have missed it!

Gotta go and sort the house out before the heating chap shows up - we haven't had a warm house all weekend! Freaking heat has been on the blink!

PS - GOOD LUCK AND CROSSED FINGERS for all those with castings and jobs coming up this week! Gosh, things have gotten busy!

Ragamuffin · 20/11/2006 13:55

DLM & housemum............photos on the way to you in the post. Please let me know when they arrive????

2Many, LM and mrsratty.......Glad the portfolio shoot went so well for you. The characters sound intriguing. Can't wait to see the pics. Colinfirth, maybe you should mention your concern to your agent. That's what they are there for.

tigeryuan....hope you get that call back on the Tesco job!

Colinfirth · 20/11/2006 13:55

I saw your boy, 2mp, he looked lovely. Yes DS in a shirt printed w pirates but looks tropical. I thought your bit looked fine. I was a bit concerned about a long-haired boy in makeup with a blonde girl with hair extensions lying w her head in his lap in DS' section. I appreciate it was a sort of fantasy tableau and may look different when all put together.

Lolly68 · 20/11/2006 14:22

dylansluckymum · 20/11/2006 16:30

afternoon all, quad well done for getting the license sorted you must be so relieved.

good luck for castings this week... pimms, julie, tiger... is that everyone? glad to see it's picking up for the older kids!

thanks so much for sending the pics raga i'll let you know when i get them.

PP shoot today was fantastic, to say the very least. i was getting worried they were taking a long time with baby girl (ruby from es, absolutely lovely) that was for march cover and thought ds might get cranky but he was just so good it's almost hard to believe! they kept saying how they'd never seen a baby pose like that, the camera starts going and he's totally still and just smiles and looks right at the camera. it's so funny! the clothes he got to wear were amazing. they were so happy with him they took another set in a different outfit (the softest merino wool sleeper, softest thing i've ever felt) to be used 'for some future article about cute babies or something'. anyway the lady said she definitely thinks he'll be the feb cover and that they'll send copies to the agency for us. like we won't be buying out the newsstand anyway!!! feeling very happy i must say. absolutely cannot wait for it to come out.

btw has anyone worked with photographer named dan? i didn't catch his surname but ds absolutely loved him.

Ragamuffin · 20/11/2006 16:39

DLM..........So glad the shoot went so well. Been thinking about you today. Can't wait to see DS's cover now! Feb seems such a long time away!

Quad......so pleased you got your licence sorted out. It is such a stress to get these done in a hurry! When is the Commercial shoot?

lolalou · 20/11/2006 17:37

Hi all
Someone left a link on here a while ago for the esprit jeans competition but I can't find it now - can anyone help please?
Thanks!
Ellesmum is your dd the blonde curly bob cutie in the BHS windows - huge pictures in Coventry/Birmingham area

ellesmum · 20/11/2006 18:05

lolalou - my dd has dark hair and was wearing a red coat with a christmas tree behind her, there was a little girl there with short blond curly hair maybe they used her pics in stead of my dd, was she wearing a red coat?

dylansmum - so pleased the pp shoot went well for you, sounds like they loved him! cant wait to see him on the front cover, he is a little star

Quadrophenia · 20/11/2006 18:07

Hi guys shoot on weds quite far to travel though am going to hassocks or some such place near Brighton!!

housemum · 20/11/2006 19:16

DLM - that sounds like it was fun - it's great when they behave and you have a good time!

Ragamuffin - thank you, will let you know

We had a good casting at Marie Chantal today, - there were just 4 girls, all 3 years old - don't know how many they are going to see, there was no-one else coming when we left?

They got DD to try on a beautifully soft navy jersey dress (hate to think how much it cost!) and the people there were really nice (they liked what she arrived in as I overheard them in French saying that she was pretty and wearing a lovely coat!). So fingers crossed, but as shoot date is just somewhere between 4 & 22 Dec it may be a while.

Slap up 2 course lunch for the 2 of us for under a tenner afterwards! If anyone is in Chelsea, Chelsea Kitchen on the King's Rd does £4 main courses - not top cuisine but certainly good home cooking (even if the veg were a bit over-boiled like school dinners!). DD & I troughed our way through small spag bol, moussaka with veg, syrup sponge & custard, apple pie & custard, a latte & an orange juice. Anyone for a wafer-thin mint??

ellesmum · 20/11/2006 19:28

good luck for the shoot quad, hope it goes well!

julie4travel · 20/11/2006 19:33

2manypimms- u never know we may see each other. i am not sure what your ds looks like though. so if you spot a stressed out mum with a red head in jeans and shirt that will prob be me. i recon i should be there around 5 as hopeing to meet the people for the student film afterwards.

housemum- glad it went well was thinking of you. thats not many kids at a casting so fingers crossed for you! your dd is lovely bet she gets it.

quad good luck for tommorow

dlm great it went well
tigerryan- hope you had the call!

not sure who else is waiting to here or has castings yet hope it goes well

Ragamuffin · 20/11/2006 19:43

julie....Have e-mailed you!

housemum.....Glad that the casting went well. Holding thumbs that she gets the job!

littlemadam · 20/11/2006 20:05

Housemum, well done, sounds lovely - and thanks for the food tip, we are staying near there Thurs night (DH has work do so we are all stowaways!) Fingers crossed for her, it sounds promising - hope its not too long a wait!

Julie, hope it goes well tomorrow. Thanks for the kind wishes, though think DS is too tall for Monsoon, so not getting my hopes up.

DLm, sounds fab!! Can't wait to see it, sounds like D was a star!

Quad, good luck for tomorrow, hope the journeys not TOO stressful, are you taking all four, or just the two being photographed??

Colinfirth, I wouldn't worry too much, all the team are very experienced, and I think they would be very careful to keep within the boundaries of good taste, ours was a very sweet shot, if a little surreal

julie4travel · 20/11/2006 20:49

littlemadam - you never know. monsoon is a shop i never even think of for my son only my dd actually. i wouldn't have a clue what there clothes are like for boys. I am trying not to get my hopes up for ted baker although it would be great. the positive thing about the trip for him will be pizza express after whilst meeting the students for the film. plus i suppose my ds will prob love the clothes and want to start saving to buy some!

ellismummy · 20/11/2006 20:49

lolalou, the link for the jeans comp is esprit.com/kids, good luck.

quad, we are not too far from hassocks, I have family who live there, what was the shoot for again?

Meid · 20/11/2006 20:54

Hi everyone. I'm really enjoying reading about your experiences but I hope you don't mind I have another question!
My DD has been accepted by Norrie Carr but we are still waiting to hear from B&B. How long can I expect to wait from them as I imagine I can't keep Norrie Carr waiting forever.
B&B did acknowledge the original pictures I sent but that was almost a month ago.
Many thanks.
meid

julie4travel · 20/11/2006 21:01

meid mine took a month with b and b! i did ring and chace them in the end and they hadn't received my email. They are quite busy at the moment! give them a quick call if its been over 3 weeks to see if you can get an answer. Good luck

tigeryuan · 20/11/2006 21:24
