Hello........

thanks housemum I've been making lots of fairy cakes, but haven't tried to make a big cake yet .. and have never tried doing the filling, decorating, etc. Love my brownies .. but want my sisters jam tart pastry recipe .. i know she puts lard in it and it's melt in your mouth, flakey yummy!! I'm going to try muffins soon ..

oh, poor dd2, she's just been sick big time all over the sofa .. have just bathed her and now she's asleep on the floor with a blanket around her (not taking her upstairs, with carpet etc!!)

poor you and dd, my thums cleaning up sick is horrid, hope she feels better soon, make us a cake

quad, tell me about it .. i get sick just smelling it!! Have cleaned the sofa 20 times, doing the wash .. luckily my kids are hardly ever sick .. think this is her 2nd time.

Quad - good luck getting the license! What where the test shoots you have been to like, I have no idea what to expect.

Pimms - we weren't told about shoes, I wouldn't imagine they would want to use scuffed school shoes, no longer white sandals or scruffy baseball boots!

Mythumbs try fabric conditioner mixed with sterilising tablets for the smell, or just fabric conditioner if you have no sterilising tablets, i always keeps some for sick!!

Mrsratty, test shoots are generally more laid back than normal shoots, but can go on a while as the photographer obviously knows exactly what they want in their portfolio!! we have some excellent pics out of it though!

ellesmum, Lani had a casting at nice studios, she was terrified of the old fashioned warehouse lift!

thums, yuck, id rather change a stinky nappy than clear up sick, luckily for me Lanis heardly ever sick either, hope dd2 feels better soon.

quads, sometime i do just laugh at her, like in sainsburys tuesday night when she was annoyed at being forced to sit in the trolley, so she threw a pack of wet wipes at a poor unsuspecting man , but other times, like when shes holding a 3 week old by his neck, i dont find it quite as amusing, we have also had to rehome our fish as she thinks its funny to take the lid off and swirl them around, oh well, after shes had her pictures done on sun ill let her run riot in gambados, i should at least get a quiet journey home then

quad, lucky you can take ds to GP on Monday. Whenever i've called my GP for an appt there's always a 2-3 week wait!!
thanks for the fabric conditioner tip when dh comes home i'll see if he can smell anything!!

Quad, hope you get sorted out, our council issued one after a phone call from head, so yours might be flexible - sounds fun!! Any bouncing on beds??

littlemadam - no Monsoon casting here. A couple of weeks ago had a call to see if DD was free for a Monsoon casting and then didn't here anything back. Would love to do Monsoon!

Mythumbs - good luck with the sick, I had it very often with DD" she was sick at least every 2 weeks for the first 18 months - fingers crossed it's not happened for a while!

ok - please tell me ive done the right thing.... after huntin for ages to try and get an agency that will get jobs - so basically a london one, ive finally found one that will take ds, even tho we live outside of london. its alphabetkidz. have i made a good choice??? they seemed very pleased to have ds, and thought he wud be loved by all clients... any experience????? pls???

just got back from the the woolworths job. thanks goodness i didnt drive in this rain it would have been a nightmare getting home. ds couldn't believe it - bob the builder is his hero - and he was modelling bob pj's. also did shots with 2 others boys for ninja turtle pj's. the other boys there had parents that work for woolys - apparently they send an email round and then you submit your children. when i worked for M&S they never did anything like that.

hope your dd is better mythumbs. ds has a bit of a cold which is why i feel guilty sometimes dragging him around to all these photo shoots! he always enjoys it once he's there but the travel is tiring.

thanks for the recipe housemum i will give it a go, i love to bake despite having a lot of trouble when i first moved here not realising how to convert cdn 'cups' to weight measures here.

mum2twoboyz, i don't really know anything about ak except that newdkmum's dd is with them and as she was at the boots parenting mag shoot they must get work!!!

mysonsmummy there was a 13 mo old girl at our woolies shoot that was staff as well. i think that's really cool that they do that! glad your ds enjoyed himself.

We also had a little girl whose mum was staff at our Woolies shoot for the Christmas 04 Catalogue. She had already done it 2 yrs running, so seems to be a common thing that they do! I had thought it was a one off.
