Shall - Congratulations to your girls.....is it photographic or tv?? If it is TV then they would definately need a license and a letter from the school would be needed!! What a nightmare - surely the school could be a bit more flexible!

Julie - fingers crossed here for you. When DD had pencil it was confirmed a few days later.
mysonmummy - did you go to the casting the other day???? If you did..hope you got it!!
Nothing happening here apart from DD has sickness bug!!! lovely! just waiting for DS to get it now!!!

Yackerty - Its quite worrying. I sent some updated photos of Lydia in to the agency as you knew I was going to do. When I got home last night that had returned them saying that she was not suitable for the agency! Really worried as they are meant to have her on their books. I rang Ellesmum in a right state last nite.

julie - what is the ted baker job for? website or magazine? im sure if they pencilled him in hes more or less got the job.

lolly - im logging off in a minute to go to dds mackays job she has to be there by 12 and not even got her dressed yet! text me!

lolly dont worry. you have had all the paperwork etc haven't you so you are fine. does anyone on here have permission to look at their site to see if she is on there, i am not sure who works in the industry.

ellesmum- she will do great, dont worry
ted baker is for point of sale (so i guess brochure and press release if that makes sence) i guess thats why the fee is a high one. think if he did get it i will be trying to subscribe to any ted baker publications i can to get a copy. knowing my luck after waiting so long the pencil in wont come off, even though i hope it does. i had to explain to my ds he wouldn't get a certificate at school for being in school every day this term, he wasn't impressed one bit! at least he enjoys going i suppose.

Thanks Julie. Spoke to them and at first the couldn't find the original pics and then they did and said that they were sorry and she is on their books! Very scary moment...!

lolly i would be the same.

just had a galaxy chocolate bar in the post. with a picture of flowers on it saying happy birthday. my cousin sells them on ebay and normally i get ones with pictures of my kiddies on the label. i have even had my kids faces on deodrant sprays. she sells loads at christmas time. a nice touch. personally we prefer the alcoholic drinks labels she does!!! ha ha

hi how are you and kids? i just rand licensing and they said its def' up to the school if they agree or not and they cant do anyting about it, does that mean my dd's will never be able to do anything then?

Lolly I would be very angry with the agency if I were you thats a very unprofessional way in which they have conductedd themselves, to make it up they should find your dd as many jobs as possible right now

Sha11 U/a only pay a casting fee if the casting agency pay one, so sometimes castings are unpaid, however some agencies pay casting fees regardless.

lolly - i would have thought updated pictures would be good, dont worry! no she doesn't have a shop just sells different bits and bobs, she is getting her website finished first. its just easy for something different i email her my picture or logo and then she puts it on chocolate bars, deodrants or wine with things like happy christmas daddy etc and its just a bit different.

boy there is a lot of illness going round at present, must be that time of year.

alliebongo what agent are you with again is it UA? you dont do castings either do you if i remember rightly just confirmed jobs only?

quad- quick question how do u know if a casting is a paid one are you normally told when you accept the casting on the phone or just wait to see if you are paid for it?

we are normally told before hand if its paid or not then i decide whether to go. allie is with MOT

Sha11 - she has joined KL after leaving ES.

Quad - it was really awful. The lady I spoke to was laughing and in the end could not help but laugh with her! I'm never sending updated pics in again! One thing they did say was that they loved the photos they had of her and would probbo use them anyway for a while.

Julie - it sounds like a really good business she has started there. I hate my job wish I could do something creative from home.

Working through my list of agencies that don't charge upfront, and I have got a link to Universal Models, but it is the adults application, and I can't find the adult one OR the child one when I go on the site - anyone know anything? (Or are the evil and should be avoided anyway )

Yeah I don't go to unpaid castings unless its for a big job because we simply cannot afford it!

Lolly the woman was clearly embaressed, i would have asked her why she is laughing at her inability to do her job properly, i think its outrageous.

lolly she started it as a sideline and then got busier and busier. she prefers in thas going out doing parties and stuff etc , suits her down to the ground. i love working from home now is my quieter time up till xmas so i normally do my wrapping presents etc in between phone calls etc yet mnet been very addictive for me! i will have to be a lot quieter come jan time to do some work!

allie - did you tell mot that your ds will only do jobs in holidays? why? and did they agree with that cos it limits what work they can get for him ifkwim. or maybe tell them in term time as well, if its after school??

hope all their jobs are unlicensed then

just trying to work out waht to do.
