Hello........

OP posts:
julie4travel · 22/11/2006 10:04

marymary- maybe i should be dieing my hair red! they asked where it came from and i made a gag about the milkman as i am blonde and my hubbie brown.

lolly - thanks

hopefully our phone will call again for some more castings this side of xmas, or a job with no casting would be even better. I am always hopeful!

marymay · 22/11/2006 10:12

julie..people always ask me who my daugher takes after as she is so tall and skinny with long brown curly hair.im a bit short fat and blonde lol.i always say the milkman

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 10:21

morning all
ellesmum i received the pic .. a little bashed but i'm so grateful i couldn't find my keys and had to open the front room window for the postman!!

julie4, i totally agree with you .. they grow with the experience and as long as they want to do it, they why not?! I know this is definitely the case for my dd1.

mysonsmummy, the thing with a photos library shoot, is that the image is stored and may never be used. If it is used you probs won't know what for or when. Your agency should be able to tell you the theme of the shoot.

housemum · 22/11/2006 10:28

Morning!

Julie- the casting sounded like a lot of fun - and freebies, too - excellent, best dd has had are a couple of sweets!

The milkmen must get around a bit - we have the same as dh & I are dark haired, I've got brown eyes, he's hazel, but dd is blonde with blue eyes - we call her the genetic throw-back!

Saying that, dh had blonde hair until he was about 5 or 6 so we're selling her while we can! (The 70's had a lot to answer for - I have sweet pic of dh at 2 or 3 with long blonde curls looking so much like dd that people have thought it's a black & white pic of her!)

lanismum · 22/11/2006 10:41

thumbs at you opening the window for the postman, i throw my keys down to our postman, as our door release system thingy is broken.

on another thread last night, misdee was saying that there seemed to be new kids on the inspired kids site, i had a look too and there are a few girls on there that i definately dont remember seeing before either....wonder whats going on there?

I am a very happy girl, when Lani did the Mothercare job, the agencys owners husband was at the studio, and he got 1 of Lanis pics, the agency sent them to me yesterday, so even if they dont get used in the end, i will still have a copy, she looks so cute even if i do say so myself

lanismum · 22/11/2006 10:47

forgot to say welcome to the thread flamesparrow, good luck if you decide to apply to some agencies, I think Urban Angels reopens their books in may, they have very low startup costs, Kids London are another one to try, there are people on here with them that will be able to tell you the costs (if any) involved, also, I have only ever met nice mums through modelling, no evil glarers

julie4travel · 22/11/2006 10:47

lani- great at least you have got a nice photo from it. hope people aren't going to loose money with inspired again that would be terrible.

housemum- hope you are well . no news yet? suppose too early

thumbs- thats great your dd enjoying it as you never know with that sort of age group.

my three year old couldn't understand why i wasn't taking her last night as she wants to go and do more photos. i had to say it was a boys on only!

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 10:49

lanismum, she is sooooo cute!!!
is it all about milkmans and postmans today??

lanismum · 22/11/2006 10:52

thumbs, I am waiting in for a Littlewoods delivery man today, and a Parcelforce one, hate waiting in, drives me mad, but will be getting a lovely flash new camera (which ill never in a million years be able to use properly) so will be worth it.

lanismum · 22/11/2006 10:53

we dont do milk in this house, so no milkman talk from me

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 10:55

julie, it was the opposite for me. When dd1 was a toddler people telling me she should model and she got asked to try for a commercial, but she was painfully shy, self conscious and clingy. It was tough leaving her at nursery, was in tears performing for school play, etc .. and i really didn't want her as shy as i was growing up, so i took her to ballet, and slowly she opened up, then she asked me she wanted to try modelling a year ago

oh, that IK thing is worrying

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 11:01

lanismum, which camera? my dh bought me a cute canon one with connecting mini printer, but i just couldn't get to grips with it .. so he bought me a sony one which is easy .. foolproof!

julie4travel · 22/11/2006 11:06

thumbs- my dd was really shy last year. we went to florida and she would put her arm infront of her face if people talked or looked at her. she totally changed when she went to nursery . she has gone from one extreme to another a right little chatterbox now! there is no way i could have had her with an agent last year and she wasn't photogenic at that time. it must be a period they go through at some point yet i cant remember my ds ever being like that!

lanismum · 22/11/2006 11:08

its a samsung digimax pro 815, i used to have a nice little olympus zoom thingy, was really easy to use, great pics ect, but lani decided to throw it across the room and now whenever i put new batteries in it just gives me a message saying they are dead

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 11:11

julie, ahh sounds like just the right time for your dd. My dd was much cuter when she was young but now she's tall, skinny, lost her baby teeth .. likes hannah montana and is only 7!! ..iykwim

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 11:16

ahh .. so lani gave you a good excuse to get a shiny new one!! i had 2 canon film cameras and one of those APS cameras .. all working .. and so gave then away and the canon digital one. I love taking pics of my kids .. i'm like a tourist .. out comes my camera .. or mobile

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 11:18

Right - been on childmodelling and got a list of the ones with no start up costs, or take it from the first job.

I'm guessing I just send off to all of em and see if I get any hits? (I avoided any that said "unverified" as I was a tad dubious).

Lolly68 · 22/11/2006 11:19

Lani sounds absolutely great... she got you a new camera!

tigeryuan · 22/11/2006 11:26

morning ladies!
just called to IK, but, no such no!

i cant believe if they could still take on new kids!!

Julie - glad that the job went well!

Flamesparrow - good luck!

Hey, ds has joined a new agency called Fine_kids! isabel introduced it to me and there isnt any up front fee! so, its great!

lanismum · 22/11/2006 11:26

flamesparrow, good luck, make sure the pics you send off are nice clear close up ones of the face with no hats/hoods, and maybe 1 full length one, hope you get all the yes emails coming in soon!
yes lani has given me the perfect excuse for the camera really, i have wanted 1 for ages.

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 11:39

Oooh fine kids are on my list!

mythumbelinas · 22/11/2006 11:40
