hi edu you must be relieved to finish with the move it really is the worst! last time i moved it was in with dp and i had a broken wrist so he did almost everything. it was fab. can't wait to see georgia in the advert will have my eyes peeled!

ds' swimming lesson was fantastic he absolutely loves the water! bus home not so good as a lady got her head stuck in the doors (!!) no idea how but she seemed to be quite hurt so we ended up getting a cab.

now dp is at football ds is asleep and i am thoroughly enjoying a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine!

housemum · 01/11/2006 20:22

educating - well done to her - I think those Ryvita ads are funny! (I like Fern Britten - not bothered about what size she is and happy to laugh at herself) Will try to look out for the woolies ads - must stop the habit of fast forwarding them (advertisers must hate people with Sky+ - I just shove all the programmes on there and watch with the adverts and boring bits fast-forwarded - I can do about 4 Coronation Streets in an hour!!)

ellesmum · 01/11/2006 21:14

educating - saw the wooly advert earlier, its great must of been very magical for her with the huge christmas tree and all the snow!! well done to her

just got back from a lovely fireworks display dd loved it!

housemum · 01/11/2006 21:27

We went to some fireworks last Saturday - dd watched for a bit then wanted to go in because there was food on offer!

She is currently on a sugar rush from yesterday's trick-or-treat goodies - it's like some American suburb round here - loads of houses had something in the window or on the door - one couple even had a witch with a steaming cauldron!! (he works for a dry-ice company or something - it was v cool!!) We had over 50 kids knocking in total and I think the batteries in our doorbell are worn out...

yackertyyack · 01/11/2006 21:34

ahhh, i had loads of sweets and DS was dressed up (too little to go out but had been to a party!) but we had NO callers!!! Means I have been scoffing sweets allday!!

mummymania · 01/11/2006 21:38

Has anyone heard of Euro kids and Adults are they legit?

julie4travel · 01/11/2006 22:01

mum2twoboyz · 02/11/2006 08:30

hi all
after sum advice.... ds has had some yes & some no for agencies, but the yes comes from agencies that want money upfront (tuesdays child etc) and no from b&b, boss etc... do u think its prob cos he just hasnt quite got the look for modellin, or cos of where we live (nr manchester) and so there arent many agencies? just not sure about tuesdays child, as they seem good, but no one seems to have any experience of them, n i dont wanna shell out money if hes not gonna get anything... just seems that, agencies who want money accept him easy - so do they just accept everyone regardless of looks, knowing they will still get money from at least some?? and then, agencies who dont have fees upfront pick the kids that are suitable to modelling??
tia

educatingrita · 02/11/2006 09:25

Thnks all, LOL at housemum fast forwarding all the ads on her skyplus!

julie4travel · 02/11/2006 10:18

mumof2boyz- i would say its probably due to distance. has noone on child modelling.net got any experience of them? i know dk in sheffield are supposed to be great yet i guess they are real far from you. i had the same thing with my daughter a lot of high fee agencies will take her yet not the cheaper ones. in the end i decided to try her out with a higher fee agent for a year and pay the fees and see how she gets on. after a year i will revue the situation. if she has had a lot of work to compensate the fees etc i will stay with ts if not try other agents. or if she doesn't want to do it just call it a day.

hi everyone, it looks like ds got the adams job, they just rang to check avail for next week. thing is the shoot is in kent tues or wed and boots want him for a shoot for their parenting magazine, also in kent, on friday. not sure what to do but b&b were going to find out a bit more info about the boots job. if it's for a cover or something big i guess it'd be worth going to both but it may be too much for him. any advice?

julie4travel · 02/11/2006 13:40

congrats dylansluckymummy. how far will you be transporting time there? if not too far go for it! as long as he is happy either in the car etc to get there i think you will be fine. Hopefully some of the others with younger babies/toddlers etc will be on soon and can advise you on their experience etc. i think now is def the time for younger babys and toddlers

OP posts:
dylansluckymum · 02/11/2006 13:41

sorry just read that and realised it didn't ask what i wanted... what i mean is, is it worth it to suck it up for one week and do both so that ds gets a chance to be in a new magazine and maybe make a connection with boots? if you turn something down once does it hurt your chances of being offered it next time?

dylansluckymum · 02/11/2006 13:42

thanks julie i think it'll take about 1 1/2 hrs each way depending on how far it is from the train stn at that end. i think it's possible i could get my mil to drive on the friday.

mimi1uk · 02/11/2006 13:45

well done on the adams and boots job, to be honest i would say u know your baby best, and ur the best person to make the decision, in general i would think he would be fine, but , being as has been a bit under the weather, only u will be able to tell, i do not think turning a job down would be a problem for next time, at all, but i think it would be a shame to miss the oppurtunity, as both seem like nice jobs, i would the the adams one and if he is ok with that go for the boots one, too if he really struggles with the adams one then you could always cancel the boots one?? x

ellesmum · 02/11/2006 13:51

congrats DLM i would agree with mimi see how he is at the adams job and if hes ok go for the boots job, as hes teething theres no way of really knowing how hes going to be so i would play it by ear and see how he goes. i dont think it will affect his chances of being chosen again by boots as if they like his look they will more than likely ask for him again in the future. good luck

Ragamuffin · 02/11/2006 14:15

edu just watched it from ragas link - thats great. Bet she had a fun time filming that! my ds would love something like that

OP posts:
julie4travel · 02/11/2006 14:59

dylans- mimi and elle are right do the first one and see how he goes, if he gets worse you will just have to go on your gut instinct. its hard when the kids are poorly

my dd was full of cold etc when i took her for her first casting from star now. i wrapped her up warm so put her in more practical clothes. she was really good for the photos etc yet i felt bad dragging her down there when she wasn't 100% plus she didn't get the job after all that!

OP posts:
ellesmum · 02/11/2006 14:59
