The snug is now expanded and open for anywenches wanting to blether away without inflicting their ramblings on the innocent Hmm participants of Telly Addicts.

Musketeer worship is still a pre-requisite to entry of course....

Thanks Nonny Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2015 20:57

Oooh, new Nonny

Drink I think I ended putting DS's swimming cap on inside out, if you see what I mean, sort of tried to roll it out onto his head. We have up and he doesn't use one now. I have heard people say talc is good though.

Does she have to wear one drink? She hasn't got masses of hair to keep dry. I wouldn't bother.

Drink - you don't have to wear the latex ones. Look at getting a spandex one like this;

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002N2H2DQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1422828818&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=Zoggs+swim+hat&dpPl=1&dpID=41Cf58eoQkL&ref=plSrch

We have trouble with ds4 as he has lots of curly blond hair and trying to stuff that into a latex hat is not funny.

They don't keep your hair so dry, but they are so much easier to deal with.

FancyFancy · 01/02/2015 22:26

Thank you nonny, it's good to have something to read on a Sundat night Smile

ww this one's a bit of a cheat as it uses a ready made curry sauce, but it is lovely. If you use a hotter sauce you may not need the chillis in with the spinach (speaks from experience!)

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/02/2015 22:43

flopsy it seems that they insist. it doesn't keep her hair dry anyway, probably because it's not put on properly.

comtes thanks, I'm ordering one now.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/02/2015 07:52

Thanks Fancy Smile

FancyFancy · 02/02/2015 08:42

You're welcome ww, the curry-roasted butternut squash is particularly tasty Smile

Enormouse · 02/02/2015 17:31

ww do you like spinach - saag aloo is very nice. Aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower) is quite easy too.

For meat dishes - butter chicken is nice, you can slow cook it so it doesn't really take too much effort.
Masala fish is lovely too.

The basics for any curry are - onions, garlic, ginger, green chillis, tumeric, cumin seeds and garam masala. And tinned tomatoes.

FancyFancy · 02/02/2015 18:07

Mmmm - aloo gobi, you're making me feel so hungry mouse!

Just bookmarking.....:)

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/02/2015 18:37

Thanks Mouse and Fancy, I'm getting really inspired Smile

Mouse do you just chuck the curry basics in a pot?

I did try to make ghorme sabzi (persian) about a year ago, but it ended in disaster. I'm the kind of person that just chucks everything together and hopes for the best Grin

Jeeez, that butter chicken looks delicious

Something I really love is chicken balti, yummie Smile

And now I'm hungry again!

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 02/02/2015 18:52

Hello lovelies!

I have just got home from work via the pub. I needed to use their wifi so I sat outside the pub for an hour with a lime and soda while I waited for six episodes of a PCap programme downloaded! I couldn't feel my hands or my feet!

I am just sooooooo devoted to that wonderful man! Grin

Enormouse · 02/02/2015 19:18

Dry fry the cumin till it starts to smell then tip it onto a plate.
Fry a chopped onion, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, a thumb sized piece of ginger and half a green chilli in oil. Fry it over a medium heat for about 10 minutes but don't let it burn. When it's all softened add 2tsp of turmeric and fry that. Add the tin of tomatoes and a cup of water. Add a tbsp of garam masala.

You can add chicken or whatever vegetables or soaked lentils to it. And cook it over a low heat for as long as you can. This is the simplest base for any curry (according to my granny) and you can add more chilli or garlic or spices of you feel like it. Or a bit of coriander at the end. If you want a creamy curry you can put in a bit of yoghurt or creme fraiche at the end.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/02/2015 19:20

Oooh, that's perfect, thanks Mouse Smile

Enormouse · 02/02/2015 19:22

My favourite combination to add to that is chicken and spinach (a la fancys suggestion).

FurFoxAke · 03/02/2015 07:07

I always like the look/sound/smell of spicy/curryish food but even black pepper gives me an itchy mouth and a stomach ache. Sad

Hope everyone is ok today?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 03/02/2015 10:27

I can see I'm the lone rambler on TB too?

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 03/02/2015 10:46

Drink I need to ask your opinion as a fellow Capaldian....

The "sandals of uneroticism" pic was posted on the Tavern thread - do you think he looks hot in the sandals? Or is it just me? Grin
