fair enough stamford - I just have to be careful who I watch films with!!! Only enjoy watching them with girlfriends atm, where you can go "phwoah" at appropriate moments!! Any men in the room and cushions start flying!!

stamford · 10/05/2004 19:55

Prufrock, it is difficult I must admit. I used to love going but don't get much of a chance these days (with 2 little ones). My husband goes to loads of games and has already been to 2 European away games this season. Not only is it the time away (and he has a demanding job) but its also the enormous cost of going! If we get through tonight I hate to think how much the flights would cost! and then there's the season tickets....

Thing is, I used to be like that (before we had kids) and I knew what he was like when I married him so although I find it annoying at times, I just have to get on with it. I do expect him to compromise though.

was there on Saturday with dh ( life long Chelsea fan) for the game against southampton. Was sad not to see Crespo play. Poor dh was possibly his last time to ever see Chelsea play live.

Not a fan ( as dh told me - not a good footy buddy ) Didn't booze up before and after the game ( fact I am pregnant doesn't count he said ) And I did not shout abuse..

stamford · 10/05/2004 22:09

why is it his last time?

fairyfly · 10/05/2004 22:14

Ok, long story but i have been texting a man, i was taking it slowly, but today i just sent him a text saying he could ring me if he wanted. Do you know what is answer was, i'm just waiting for the football to start.
I'm posting it here because i thought you might relate to him.

stamford · 10/05/2004 22:20

Oh fairfly!! It is a REALLY big game...probably biggest game Chelsea have had for decades. I wouldn't take it personally. My sole job tonight (as my ticket has gone to dh's best footie mate) is to book them flights to Dusseldorf if Chelsea get through (almost sure they won't...). I'm not sure my dh has said anything coherent at all in the last week he has been so looking forward to it!!

Anyway, ask yourself now if you want to be a footie wife before you get involved!! Long Saturday afternoons on your own with the kids and trips away beckon!

kiwisbird · 10/05/2004 22:30

Oh FF, I chose a man of the non footballing genre, even though I support Arsenal (loudly and rightly proudly) whats that I hear 33 league games??
Thread tomorrow can be entitled... Lets lynch them for this...
tee hee

wobblyknicks · 10/05/2004 22:33

kb - don't mention lynching, you'll get jmg all excited and hot under the collar!!!

kiwisbird · 10/05/2004 22:35

oh and there was me thinking he wasn't that predictable - he's just like all the rest then

wobblyknicks · 10/05/2004 22:37

rofl kb!!!

kiwisbird · 10/05/2004 22:41

well almost like all the rest, cepting he supports Chelsea... which isn;t btw a redeeming feature, unless he's got £400 on them to win and they do and he gets take us all out... that would go part way to redemption...

wobblyknicks · 10/05/2004 22:43

Lol kb!!! Ok jmg, if Chelsea win, I'll expect my invitation asap!!!

kiwisbird · 10/05/2004 22:52

I'll have to come to chaperone, to protect virtues etc... (am open to bribes of course) if Chelsea win there's not ounting on what he'll be like!
I'm wicked - I am home alone!!! With wine...

wobblyknicks · 10/05/2004 22:55

kb - if he's a gent he'll be inviting all of us!!! And thanks for thinking I've got any virtues worthy of protecting!!

If they lose, we'll have have to buy him a pint to tale his mind off it else he could be unbearable!!

CountessDracula · 10/05/2004 22:58
