Hi everyone, I have decided to stick with ts for my ds as they will only refund money until Oct 16th when he has modelbook photos done, ( we were invited to assesment with ua in nov.) I would rather ua but if we get turned down after asessment then we are left with nothing!, I really hope this is the right decision, I never have been good at making them!

Ragamuffin · 29/09/2006 11:41

ellismummy.....you could always still go to the assessmnet with UA in Nov. If they do take him on then just notify TS that you won't be continuing with them. You would loose your money....but at least next year when it comes time to pay for model book photos and registration the cost will be so much less. Also then you will at least know whether UA would have said yes or not.

mrsratty · 29/09/2006 11:44

That sounds like a good idea Ragamuffin as UA are one of the top and do get alot of work and the renewal fees each year are very low.

ellismummy · 29/09/2006 11:48

Thats true, its just the fees i have paid for ts are so high its a lot to lose, think we paid £170 for year + £80 to pay to photographer in Oct for shoot

It depends if kids from ua really get a lot more work than those from ts it would be worth doing because we would soon make up for what we would have to lose.

Ragamuffin · 29/09/2006 11:54

ellismummy.......I would say that UA does do a lot more work than TS. and would be the better agency. You are prepared to pay the TS joining fee and would be doing so if he did not get into UA. So just see it as and insurance that he will at least get representation either way. You really don't have much to loose by still going to the UA Assessment.....in fact if he gets taken on by them it would be a saving in the long term.

julie4travel · 29/09/2006 12:22

ellismummy- i am also sticking with TS to see how they go. If i dont think my dd has had much work i will then look at ua when they open their books in May 2007 and maybe try other agencies. my shoot date is different to yours as initially i was thinking of both the kids going with ts before my ds got accepted by b and b

HERE

Quadrophenia · 29/09/2006 16:52

I don't care whether they say good things or not, they state clearly that its a pageant, and even if it does lead to good things I really wouldn't put my kids through it! Any child with a good agency has chances of 'good things' happening for them without having to put them through a pageant style competition. It really does make me grimace but i guess i've already made that clear

Lolly68 · 29/09/2006 16:56

I must admit the word pageant is a little worrying but it does seem all above board. Good luck everyone who is in the finals!

Quadrophenia · 29/09/2006 16:57

It can be above board and still be tacky though

Lolly68 · 29/09/2006 16:59

I know what you are saying and I personally would not enter DD in this sort of thing at all but each to their own I suppose.

ellismummy · 29/09/2006 17:18

Mrsratty, have you got Junior today????

Your DD is in the fashion pages twice and she looks gorgeous!! Once full page with a long green coat and stripey scarf and one sat with a little boy on a desk. Fabulous!!!! Right off for the hair of the dog now, very long night!!!!

Tinkerbel5 · 30/09/2006 10:01

littlemadam is that the November issue ?

DD has a shoot for junior but I dont know if they used the photos or not, they dont sell Junior where I live, I thought of going to lakeside and having a look there.
