Quadrophenia · 27/09/2006 14:28

so what will your children have to do when they are there?

Quadrophenia · 27/09/2006 14:29

Kerryaaron, we are with urban angels and have been for three years, we love them as an agency, I couldn't recommend them enough.

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 14:30

thi nk it may b best to check it out, otherwise they may say u r exempt from collecting the prize as u breached the rules being with bruce and brown!, not sure!, so many mums on napm have been accepted also, and they are still taking entrance on there website so how can they have chosen finalists??

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 14:31

Quadrophenia- my son cannot even walk yet

julie4travel · 27/09/2006 14:31

not fully sure i know there is 2 changes of outfit needed. noone is given final information until sponsership shuff is posted to them!

OP posts:
mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 14:33

then could they then request this and that etc, julie have u called and asked them what they will have to do
also why r they still acceptinmg applications when they are chosing finalists

Quadrophenia · 27/09/2006 14:34

sounds to be like they are accepting everyone, great money making scheme if you ask me. Still would love to know how many people actually know what is expected of the entrants, after all you part with your cash only to find you are not comfortable with something. I can't imagine putting my children in for anyhting if i didn't know the ins and outs.

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 14:34

julie the link they sent me to the sponsership form is not working have u got a copy u can send me

julie4travel · 27/09/2006 14:35

are you guys seriously going to enter your children in a pageant that you know nothing about?

I think thats abit

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 14:59

spoke to a very nice helpfull man, applications are left open for next year now and applications have been closed! does not matter if with an agency!but if u with one ad u get work through this competition then u have to deceide what to do, i said to the man that if u was with a reputable agency u might not be so happy about that, he said well u would not turn a job down, i just said u might if it meant losing ur place at the agency for one job he did not understand me in that, i asked what it was all about he said padgent style, judges meet children, older kids get asked questions etc, riley is not walking so i would have t go on eith him
he said ther are 30 in each cat, so about 15 girls boys, if u drop out they will fill that place with another child

kerryarron · 27/09/2006 15:11

Quadrophenia - thanks for the recommendation, I think that assessments are in November so we will have to wait a while but hopefully it will be worth it

I also applied to the pagent thing, my son was accepted but I am not going to take him, firstly Liverpool is too far away, and secondly there's plenty more thins I could spend the money on!

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 15:20

yackerty! thanks honey dp got the burberry booklet he is bringing it home for me, cannot wait, i am gonna go to lakeside and get some more tom as we will b passing through! thanks again!

dylansluckymum · 27/09/2006 15:21

hi all lots going on once again! it seems like they've said yes to a load of kids for this pageant and are basically going to take the first 30 per category that come up with the £££. i must admit i'm with quad on this one pageants make me nervous because of what they're like in the states (disgustingly competitive) but if you're going to go for it i wish you all the best of luck!!!

had 2nd debbie bliss shoot today it was lovely once again. kind of hope we have the rest of the week off now as my legs are killing me from taking the buggy up and down all the stairs 2 days in a row!

lanismum · 27/09/2006 15:21

think i have to agree with quadrophenia sorry if i offend anyone, not my intention, but a pageant??
no way would i personally enter dd, even aside from the money and travel issue, i imagine there will be a huge crowd, a bit meat marketish ands shes so little theres no way she would stand on a stage alone, it sounds a whole lot different from friendly photographers in a quiet studio.

ellesmum · 27/09/2006 15:28

dylansluckymum - glad your shoot went well have just emailed u back

Tinkerbel5 · 27/09/2006 15:37

well done on the shoot today.

I agree with a quad and lanismum, £150 is also a lot of money to shell out, as well as accommodation, food, drinks and any new outfits the LOs need

Im quite impulsive, but this comp didnt feel right to me, trust your instincts and all that.

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 15:38

something to me just does not seem right about it, they have not turned down anyone that i know of people have had yes's and if u do not take the place they offer it to someone else, so that does not seem over selective to me!< the guy i spoke to was not pushy at all and was happy to answer all my questions but then they know they will be able to fill the places up, they can just go dowm the list, etc and they will get x amount of takers, he said the list was finished for this year be interesting to see if someone applies and still gets through!

Tinkerbel5 · 27/09/2006 15:38

2manypimms fingers crossed for your son aswell, yes it would be good if all the LOs were together at the same shoot.

ellesmum · 27/09/2006 18:02

hi everyone, a couple of days ago i put dd forward for a small part in a bennets electrical commercial (found it on mandy.com) anyway dd has got the part of a small child in a family! the shoots on monday in norwich, its an un paid job but there will be a buy out fee. they are going to pick me up from the station and take me to the studio etc.
think it will be a good experience for dd what do u think?

btw the commercial will be aired in few weeks in east anglia (essex) only and will get my own personal copy of it!

mimi1uk · 27/09/2006 18:06

well done !! i would go for it just be curious of who is picking u up!
