It's going to be a quiet weekend, only. I'll do a bit of pottering around the house. But not much.

I receive my Docetaxel and Herceptin infusions every 3 weeks. The side effects don't start for a few days and then there's about a week of bad days. Then it turns around and I feel OK (except for fatigue) until the next time.

Oh, dear, your poor DH. I can just picture the scene. Grin Grin

Glad you have picked up a bit Zombie, happy to see you are planning to relax ( for a change ) are you feeling less tired now ?

Waves to OJ ( hope your recovering well too )

IamtheZombie · 19/07/2014 22:05

Thanks, mummy. I'm less prone to fall asleep but I'm still fatigued. I just need to pace myself. The fatigue is cummulative so will get worse. I had this when I was on FEC last time so I know what to expect and how to deal with it.

I've had a lovely steak and jacket potato for dinner. Now to relax for the rest of the evening.

Hi Zombie. Glad you enjoyed your meal.

Is the heat bothering you?

IamtheZombie · 20/07/2014 11:46

I'm really enjoying the warm weather, Luis. It's like late spring / early autumn weather back in central Virginia where I grew up.

OP posts:
LuisSuarezTeeth · 20/07/2014 18:11

I reckon you're the only one that is Wink

How long have you lived in the UK? Do you miss Virginia?

ChickyEgg · 20/07/2014 18:22

Can I join too? My dad is just finishing a second cycle for prostate cancer.

Glad you are enjoying the heat! I'm melting!! Smile

IamtheZombie · 20/07/2014 21:08

I've lived in the UK since December 1982, Luis. I wish I could see my uncle and a couple of friends more often but otherwise there's nothing I miss. This is my home now.

Of course you can join, Chicky. Sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he's tolerating his chemo well and that it will see off the nasty C.

I think zombie and I are the only ones not bothered about the heat...coming from kl it's definitely cooler here and very tolerable at the moment

Actually I'm wearing a cardigan and my mum is looking at me like this > Hmm Confused

I have to take my dm to oncology for a appointment on Wednesday, this determines her start date. It's my first official date in which I can finally help after being away so long. She had requested an ice cream after...although I'm much more inclined to wait a mc Donald's like zombie in my pregnant state Wink

Hope you enjoyed the weekend zombie and that the storms haven't lashes down around you.

Much love x

mummylin2495 · 20/07/2014 21:48

Hi Zombie, hope you have had a good day today and the tiredness has got a bit better. Did you get your sleep disturbed by the storms ?
When do your next visitors arrive so you have some company ?
And is your face fully recovered now or can you still feel anything.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 21/07/2014 00:30

I seem to have managed to be online for more than 2 minutes tonight, yabloodyhoo!

Glad to see your gland has gone down Z and you can enjoy eating again.

Have pondered a bit how to say that I love 'cancer sucks shit through a straw' and can only do it just like that really, Grin, but not!

And was wondering the same as mummylin when your next visitors are coming. I do like to think of you having company.

Lovely to see you back Barbie you sound terrifyingly organised Grin.
Very best wishes for your mum starting her treatment, she must be so pleased you can be with her.

Lots of love and Flowers Zxxx

Good morning Zombie, here's hoping sees a massive improvement for you this week. Hoping you have the lovely sunshine that we have down south today. Take it easy

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 21/07/2014 10:54

Morning, I hope you have some more good weather to enjoy today. Are the Zombie cats looking after you properly?

Glad to hear that you are resting when you need and hoping that you feeling OK.

mummylin2495 · 22/07/2014 10:23

Hi Zombie, hope you are not feeling too whacked out and that you had a good nights sleep. Here's hoping that your fatigue etc is now passing and you are feeling more like yourself. It must be very draining. Take it easy and don't overdo things in this heat.

IamtheZombie · 22/07/2014 11:42

Good morning!

Barbie, I hope all goes well at the oncology clinic tomorrow. You could always have MaccyD and ice cream.

mummy, sadly the storms only skirted around me. I heard rumbling thunder several times but it was miles away. I'm meeting a friend for brunch on Friday and seeing another old friend early next week. Face is absolutely fine now. Once the stone dislodges it's back to normal immediately.

I've always like that turn of phrase, Bee. It's particularly appropriate to cancer. Grin

Chaz, the ZombieCatsâ„¢ are doing a sterling job. ZombieCatG will hardly leave my side. She spends her time moving from the left arm of my chair to the right arm via my lap. When she's had enough of that she curls up on my lap for a snooze.

It's a glorious day here. I feel a trip to the recycling centre coming on.

Hello Zombie, how are you coping with this sweltering heat today ? Too got for me outside at the moment, will be nicer this evening I think. Hope you are feeling relatively well today and you and Zombie cats have some shade if you are outside.

ChickyEgg · 23/07/2014 18:11

Thanks Zombie. His last chemo really knocked him for six and worried us all but he is rallying around. He's always treated it as a temporary blip. He's incredibly positive. i wish I had inherited his happy genes!!

Barbie1 · 23/07/2014 19:10

Good evening zombie

Hope the trip to the recycling centre was a joyful one Wink

Have you done anything nice today?

I'm doing my mums nails so they look nice for hospital tomorrow, she has also tried on many outfits and had her hair done. It's slightly bemusing but I can see that she wants to feel as nice as possible before the hair loss and the side effects.

Hope everyone is surviving this heat? For is it's not a problem being used to being aboard and all, however I know plenty are suffering!

Have a good evening all x

magimedi · 23/07/2014 20:28

Checking in with Z.

Hope all is OK with you & you still have this glorious weather.

I just love this heat - this is summer & what it should be.

But my sympathies to those of you who don't like it.

IamtheZombie · 23/07/2014 21:54

Evening all! Grin

I'm still really enjoying the warm weather. The ZombieCatsâ„¢ seem happy as well.

I've been very lazy this week. Well, someone had to be.

I see the oncologist at 11.00 tomorrow morning. I'll have my usual MaccyD on the way and need to go to Pets at Home afterwards. I'm down to the last two boxes of pouches for the ZombieCatsâ„¢. That constitues an emergency in this house.

Friday I'm meeting a friend for brunch. There will be baby cuddles involved.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 23/07/2014 23:50

Good luck tomorrow Zombie.

Is that your jive teacher with the baby?

IamtheZombie · 24/07/2014 00:39

It is indeed, Bee.

ljny · 24/07/2014 13:14
