Evening.

Bee, I'm going to try to go for 10 - 14 days.

mummy, I've not seen DS in RL for 30 years. I think I've mentioned before that it was an extended family adoption so I did see him intermittently after the adoption. My nearest MaccyD is 19 miles away. Almost everything I like (other than Costa) is at least 19 miles away.

What an emotional time for you both that will be. I worry when I don't see my ds at least once each week ! It will be a wonderful meet up . Hopefully he will want to come and visit your home too !

Allalonenow · 27/09/2014 02:02

That's such fab news about the Skype with your son, I do FaceTime with my DS who is far away and it's just wonderful.
You will have such a lovely weekend Zombie

Have a great chat with your DS tonight Zombie, got to be one of the best tonics you can get to lift your spirits.

IamtheZombie · 28/09/2014 20:02

I agree, mummy. Still a few hours to wait but I'm getting very excited.

What time will you Skype ? How many hours time difference is there ? ( getting excited for you )

IamtheZombie · 28/09/2014 21:57

We'll start between midnight and 1.00am. It's a 5 hour time difference so between 7.00pm and 8.00pm his time.

Could someone pass me some tissues please. I'm not sure I've ever been this happy. Well, at least not since DS was born.

We've been on Skype for an hour and a half. I also got to talk with my sister-in-law, his adoptive mum.

This has been beyond my wildest dreams.

Ginfox · 29/09/2014 04:08

Oh Zombie, so happy for you! (lurker and well-wisher here).

Did you find it easy to chat? Or take a while to warm up? When I first met my half-sister a few years ago we spent a lot of time grinning at each other, but there were a few long pauses. Hard to know where to start when catching up on a lifetime of news Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 29/09/2014 07:53

Wow Zombie, how wonderful xx

mummylin2495 · 29/09/2014 08:06

Zombie I am thrilled for you that your Skype session went well . You obviously found loads to chat about to be on there for so long. It is times like this when you thank god for modern technology. I hope you managed to get to sleep eventually after the excitement of it all, you must of been floating on air !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 29/09/2014 08:43

How wonderful, you two must have really hit it off, that's a long time.
Fantastic.
Will it be a weekly event now? Or nightly? Grin

Am I right that it's your last chemo this Wednesday?

When you're recovered from that you can really concentrate on building your strength for your trip.

SmileFlowers

magimedi · 29/09/2014 09:32

Such lovely news - I may have something in my eye.

As BBB says you can soon concentrate on the big trip.

IamtheZombie · 29/09/2014 11:51

Morning!

Ginfox, don't be a stranger. It was really easy to chat. We've been e-mailing and chatting on FB since January so the ice had been broken.

Thanks, Yonic. Flowers

mummy, I'm still floating. We talked about loads of things - his job, his love life, my treatment, how we feel about being back in touch and lots more.

Bee, we're planning on weekly. And, yes, last round of Docetaxel is on Wednesday. Only one more set of side effects to get through. I'll still be on a 3 week cycle for Herceptin but that doesn't really have any side effects.

Here, magi, have some of my tissues.

Hi magi, I missed you SmileWine

You didn't have to go to that ghastly place in Turkey again did you? Grin

magimedi · 29/09/2014 22:52

Sorry BBB Blush - am just back from 2 weeks in heaven ghastly place in Turkey, whose name I will never utter lest any one else goes there. You can call me a travel snob but did not hear an English voice (apart from us) in 2 weeks. Bliss Right shitty holiday!!!!

Have you moved yet???

Apologies to Zombie for a thread hijack.

mummylin2495 · 30/09/2014 12:39

Good morning Zombie, hope you too have a lovely sunny day where you are as I have here on the south coast. Well nearly tomorrow and your last chemo session, you have done so well and faced it with courage. Hope you get to have your breakfast treat tomorrow as well !

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 30/09/2014 12:43

Zombie

Ohh that sounds wonderful, it must be lovely to have a long chat like that.

Good luck with the last of the Docetaxel.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 30/09/2014 21:36

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Zomb.
Thought you might like a heads up that Barbie has had her baby - all fine.

Grin magi check pm box.

mummylin2495 · 01/10/2014 09:43
