im feeling ok just taking paracetamols now, it has been easier than a section which i didnt think it was going to be, but when you take th corset off for a shower it feels a bit weird and when they take the drains out it is horrible not painful but like a big worm going through you , ive been up since 5 with dd along with dh but i might go back for an hour in a minute or two, that is the one thing keeping me bent my tummy button how long does that last

were you suprised at your results?

oh and still waiting to do a poo

Sorry i missed you buktus, mine took just under 2 hrs which they said was very good, but because i'm a smaller frame i suppose there wasn't loads to take off! That was the most painful part for me, taking the drains out, where are your drain holes? mine are near my ahem(lady garden low down) and they had to pull the drains from under my rib cage that were all coiled up, i found it was intense pain! But my neighbours drains were above her scar in either side of her tummy! Sounds as if you are coping very well buktus, i couldn't stand upright for 2weeks but i think it differs from person to person i was strighter in the morning and as the day went on i was much more hunched over, but my consultant said i should of been doing the opposite, hunched in the morning and straighter as the day went on, but as i said i think it differs in everyone

buktus · 16/11/2006 13:56

that would be great - mine is starting to get more painful each day i think the bruising is coming out did you find that too

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 16/11/2006 14:48

i thought that might happen buktus, it does get more painful but again yours sounded too good to be true thats why i found i needed the painkillers later on, i never had bruising to see but like you i did find it more painful as the days went on, your stitches start to pull and your tummy feels really bruised, but i took arnica and had no bruising whatsoever but obviously i still had the pain! All completely normal me thinks! Remember don't be overdoing it!

buktus · 16/11/2006 20:31

i still havent took the pain killers its not unbearable but just so tight i suppose it just takes getting use to, i now cant wait to drive again, dressings come off next week so hopefully i will get the go ahead

thats good, you will be able to get out easily, i couldn't take ds to school for 4weeks as i don't drive and its a bit of a walk. We went to Cyprus in July and i jumped into the pool and couldn't swim because my tummy muscles were so tight i couldn't get my legs and arms going as it was pulling too much and quite uncomfortable and that was 4m after i had it done, just small things that i thought i could do and i couldn't!

buktus · 17/11/2006 13:06

i can imagine that about the swimming, thanks for the email i got 3 pics this time cant wait to get mine on wed i will email you them, im a bit as mine was quite bad

Although I look like Ive been bitten in half by a shark I feel OK, the main wound is healing well and my tummy button seems to have cleared up. I have what looks like a love bite on my stomach which my consultant says is an allergic reaction to the disolvable stitches but I still feel like Ive been beaten up - they tell me the placation (sp?) was hundreds of stitches across and down so its to be expected I suppose but Im a bit bored of it all now, just want to feel normal. Does the numbness ever go or is that here for good now?
Although I do nothing but moan it was worth it - I knew Id never be a bikini model but to feel "normal" again is great xx

Kidstrak · 28/11/2006 13:40

hi zoe i still have some numbness but its slowly returning, i can now feel my tummy button which is weird as it was totally numb to begin with. Above my scar where i have loads of stretch marks is still numb a little but i can feel it starting to return.
