Kidstrack · 13/10/2006 07:30

well for one i don't think i could cope with giving birth to triplets or the lifetime of caring for 3 babies all at the same agealthough they are amazingly cute, but i coped perfectly with my tummy tuck and its only a few weeks of discomfort

buktus · 25/10/2006 20:35

buktus · 25/10/2006 20:52

i keep pulling my tummy around trying to imagine what it will look like and how much it will hurt, but i can remember imagining pain when i had my first baby and it was very far off the mark, perhaps i should stop doing that lol cant wait o show my pics when im done

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 26/10/2006 14:12

ha ha i used to do that but infront of the mirror!

buktus · 26/10/2006 21:14

but you cant do that anymore

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 13:08

lol yeah but i still do it(stand in front of the mirror with my pants on with no horrible skin hanging over them) weird now when i think of me having had a tummy tuck done!

Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 13:11

been meaning to ask what age you are, not that it has anything to do with me but i'm 25 in January so i was just past 24 when i had mine and people are quite shocked when they find out i have had it done! Not that its any of their damn business, i just have a friend that seems to tell everyone!

buktus · 27/10/2006 14:19

i have just turned 25 lol, spooky things going on here , i havent told anyone that i am having a tummy tuck done, only mumsnet oh and my mil because she is having the lo's,i dont know why i havent told anyone i think i feel like its none of their business and you know how bitchy women can be at school i dont really what the looks and stuff. before i had my last baby i was due to go and have my muscles restiched and some more adhesions taken away from c section scar so that is all i have said when people ask , i am not nervous about the actually op i am more excited did you feel the same, the only thing i am slightly worried about is not waking up but i think that is a normal feeling for any op
i do feel quite young having it done, but i have had the last baby and really cant cope with feeling miserable over my tummy any longer

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 19:46

yep i was the same i was so excited, i knew my tummy would never be perfect but just the focus of having not to worry if my top rode up and people seeing my tummy, i no longer have to find tops that cover my jeans but as long as they meet i'm happy as i never showed my tummy off before having the kids, it was just the sheer delight of not having a bulge poking through any tops that got me! Your quite right about not telling many people i never either except some friends and my Mil as she was looking after the kids, my friends were quite shocked and asked why i was butchering my body, because i'm slim they thought i had a perfect tummy after having 2 kids, the truth was if anyone saw my tummy they were truly shocked at the state of it, not that was any of their business but i already knew how i felt about my tummy and knew at some point i would have surgery!

zoett · 30/10/2006 21:51

Hello, Im new, My name is Zoe. I hope you dont mind me joining in. Ive just found this discussion board whilst desperately googling "post op recovery". I had a tummy tuck 13 days ago and am worried about my healing etc, GP says I have an infection, Consultant says I havent and not to listen to GP. I have had to change my dressings 3 times today already as they are soaked with fluids and Im feeling really lonely and a teeny bit scared. Can anyone tell me if discharge 2 weeks on is normal? please

buktus · 01/11/2006 09:45

i am really happy this morning as my tummy tuck is no longer weeks away its now just days

OP posts:
buktus · 01/11/2006 09:45

zoe tell me about it, pleeeaase

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 02/11/2006 19:39

hi zoett, i would say any leaking is wrong, i was told if any leaking or similar i was to go straight to hospital, i never had any leaking whatsoever, i would be worried too as you are 2 weeks post op, i also don't understand why they keep dressings on, i would get your partner/husband to get to the chemist and ask for Betadine spray and use twice daily and please remove all the dressings as they just cause germs they really do, your scar needs to heal without smothering it, obviously i'm NO surgeon but i can't beleive they say there is no infection when clearly there is a small infection or wound breakdown, either of them is serious, please remove them have a bath and use the betadine spray, it will make your scar go all orange looking but this is normal!

Kidstrack · 04/11/2006 10:35

hi kidstrack, came home today, cant believe i have a flat tummy, my belly button feels so strange

OP posts:
Kidstrack · 10/11/2006 20:34

Aww buktus so glad everything went ok, are you suffering or coping with the pain ok! I couldn't sit at the computer for any longer than a few minutes then had to go back to bed(i noticed your post is short and sweet), don't you wish you could bring the hospital bed home with you to keep you in that bent comfy position, i had dp folding pillows under my knees and propping them behind me, so that i was in a similar position!

Kidstrack · 10/11/2006 20:36

My belly button also felt strange, i only have some feeling just returning to it now, but its a weird feeling because you are trying to walk as straight as possible but there is a tugging feeling in your tummy button saying slow down
