is it ok to tell your agency you will only do jobs and no castings??? just wondering?

sha11 - It may be okay to say no to castings but unless your child is well known it will probably reduce the amount of work your children will get signficantly. My daughter is with B&B and has done both quirky fashion work and catalouge/high street type work, KL like B&B do both but some children might be more suited to one rather than the other.

Quad - Did one of yours do the mothercare job in Lewes as I have seen the photos.

lindac · 11/09/2006 18:38

samsmumlou > there is someone on the childmoddeling site takeing models direct to a small claims court it may be worth contacting them sometimes two heads are better then one, thats if you had no luck getting your money back,

i am still waiting for my dd to get her first job with kids london have only been with them 3 weeks
well done everyone with all your jobs and good luck with your castings

SamsMumLou · 11/09/2006 19:43

Lindac - Thanks for that I have spoken to them this afternoon and told them that I wish to terminate the contract and would like a full refund. They said I have to write in and explain my reasons why, as I have never even signed a contract they said I may be entitled to 90% back but I don't hold much hope. I'm going to write though and see and will update you.

I would love to e-talk with the person that is taking them - if you are out there I would welcome some tips.

Quadrophenia · 11/09/2006 19:49

lindac · 11/09/2006 19:49

Your welcome, i very nearly went with them so i do feel for you, they rang me only last week to see why i havent joined them yet !you can post a message on cm.net and hope they will see and reply to you good luck

Quadrophenia · 11/09/2006 19:51

had to turn down a job for New look for girls, but wasn't really a good idea for them to be taken out of school just after they've started back, alwasy the way !!

ellismummy · 11/09/2006 20:00

samsmumu lou, I have just posted on cm about models direct but I have been thinking about going to small claims court too, I wrote to them numerous times about getting my money back but they either dont reply or send a pathetic reply that doesnt help at all!
I didnt sign a contract either but they said that when you pay the money you are agreeing to the contract, then , they do not need a signed copy, they also told me that it is a rule that they are not allowed to give refunds!

ellismummy · 11/09/2006 20:07

mythumbalinas, thanks, feel a bit better about it now!

Had latest copy of letterbox toy catologue thru today, anyones little ones in it?

SamsMumLou · 11/09/2006 20:08

Lindac & Ellismummy - will put something on CM.net and write to them and see what happens. I'm just so annoyed with myself that I feel I have to go all the way!!

Promise to update you with news - have youheard anythign about DK in Sheffield?

mrratty · 11/09/2006 20:19

Quad - I emailed the PR dept and they sent me the link and passwords. I can email it to you if you like. DD was not in the main book just the Hallween stuff, I think that her other photos were for instore rather than the book.

sha11 · 11/09/2006 20:24

lindac - how old is your dd, 3 weeks with KL - with us its only 2 days so fingers crossed

my dd is 11 so might be a difficult age, you know not cute and cuddly anymore, but im realy pleased they took her on, i am taking her to a photo shoot in oct for the model book and website, i suppose everyone with them has to do this.
She was also on the bma website but only had a few unpaid casting but have asked them to remove her as kl are sole rep

We are an amateur film production company based in Bedford currently seeking extras of all ages as well as a female lead aged 18-27 to appear in a music video for a Christmas single to be released this November by an unsigned solo artist.

We aim to start production on the music video in October. The video will have a festive theme. The finished video will then be sent to various TV companies and shows in the hope of being aired.

As we are an amateur film company and the artist is unsigned, we are therefore unable to pay any fees or expenses. The successful applicants will however receive a copy of the single and a DVD of the music video when it is released.

Please apply now to take part or for more information.

Location: Bedford and Milton Keynes
