Pimms, I was at a shoot yesterday and one of the team is doing that shoot. Its for Christmas so think he has all the decs up. Sure it will be lots of fun!!
The Disney shoot yesterday was for the in store videos in Europe, they did about ten short films with the four kids playing, opening boxes, jumping around etc...they enjoyed it!!
Anyone at Littlewoods tomorrow??

2ManyPimms · 09/09/2006 11:33

LM - DS will LOVE that - Christmas (surprise, surprise) is his favourite time of year AND his birthday! Bit tough on pressies unfortunately. Did your LO need to bring anything special, clotheswise? I was told to only bring black school shoes. I imagine that it'll be the November Junior.

Your LO is busy! Do you get a copy of the videos they shoot? Sounds like it was a fun one to do.

princessmel · 09/09/2006 11:58

Hi everyone,
Its dds shoot for Bgum model book today. I hope it goes ok. I'm quite nervous.
I'll let you know what happens.
Enjoy your ds shoot today Pimms. It sounds great.Did you see all the diff threads about you on Anthea the other day? I started one!

littlemadam · 09/09/2006 12:21

Good luck Mell, sure your little one will be fab!

Pimms, we just wore jeans and t shirt, think they used the jeans for one outfit, but otherwise was all their (fabulous D and G) things. I'm assuming its the same one, I know it was this afternoon and is at a photographers house, but might not be. Prob be December Junior which is out beginning of November. Is he excited?? When is your JL thing?

I'm hoping they use DS for the fashion one, he did two outfits and four locations around London, but there were 3 boys and seven locations altogether and Junior said have to choose only two shots in total, the girls get most of the spread. Ah well....

Didn't get copies of the video, I'm hoping to get ones of the photos which we did for them a couple of weeks ago tho. The team was great they usually work with pop stars so very funky! We've been quite busy but will have to put school first now.

hello

princessmel · 10/09/2006 08:31

Hi, Just thought I'd let you know how the shoot went. Not good.
We got there ok, nice and early, loads of parking but when I went up in the lift it wouldn't open at the first floor. I panicked and went back down to get dh and that time it was ok. Phew.
Then when we went in to have pics dd was all clingy and shy. She had to sit on a stand/table thing in clothes then just her nappy.
They got a few nice shots but not many. She wanted to get down. I was a bit upset really as I wanted them to see her at her best. She would have been fine if she could have stood up etc. but she had to be sitting. She's just learnt to walk so thats all she wants to do.
Then after that we were stuck in loads of traffic behind an accident on the A10, they closed the road.
Then we had to go straight to a family 30th meal miles and miles away. We'd brought the mini dvd player for ds as he'd been in car all day. He's never had it in car before and he won't again. He was sick after having it on for about 10 mins. I'd said that would happen but dh thought it was a good idea....
Anyway to finish the day we left the resturant at 7.45pm then had to drive for 45mins home. Dd crying most of the way. She's usually in bed at 7pm.
I was so fed up last night. Dh said that the good pics were nice but I didn't really concentrate on them as I was disapointed.
We'll just have to wait and see. Then I felt bad for feeling bad as its not Dds fault and it was her first go etc. She did her best, another day she prob would have giggled and smiled loads.
Penny said they should be on the website by end of month.

Sorry for going on.

tavalana · 10/09/2006 09:19

princessmel - don't worry, kids are like that and there's nothing you can do about it. there will be times when this kind of thing will happen during a job and you really shouldn't get upset and remember that everyone is pretty used to the fact that kids play up sometimes. i'm sure they got nice photos of her and remember they only need one or two shots to send to clients so it's likely that it will be just fine.
good luck.

2ManyPimms · 10/09/2006 09:59

Aw, Mel, sounds like a tough afternoon and a long day for everyone! I am sure that the shots will come out just fine.

Littlemadam - Different photographer. DH took one of her cards and I looked up her work on the internet - the Junior layout should be fab. She does quite quirky photos. DS was in and out in an hour or so. Can't wait to see the end result! We are really excited!

woteva · 10/09/2006 13:41

guess wot i found, kids londons gallery, which is supposed to be not viewable to parents?!!!!?

ellesmum · 10/09/2006 13:50

i just found it 2 by just typing kids london, but it only shows older kids so maybe thats allowed??????????

woteva · 10/09/2006 14:02

there are some toddlers as well

ellesmum · 10/09/2006 14:10

princess- try not to worry as kids especially babies do have bad days and the photographer is prob very used to it. i had a similar experience with my dd at her first job, she was good at first and then was quite badly behaved towards the end of the shoot because she was very tired, the photographer couldnt really get her to stand still and she refused to wear the other outfit they wanted her in, i was really worried they didnt get the shots they wanted from her.

but at her last job she was so well behaved and did everything they asked her to do, it all depends weather they have a good day or not, im sure your dd did very well and like someone else said they only need around 2 decent shots of her for their website, im sure they would of got that.

ellesmum · 10/09/2006 14:11

i didnt see any toddlers only older kids?

Tinkerbel5 · 10/09/2006 14:58

there is a few smaller kids on the kidslondon site but I dont think the pics are shown by accident, I think they have updated the website and show a few faces to give an idea of the kind of kids they have on their books.

Tinkerbel5 · 10/09/2006 15:01

Princess dont worry about it, I know you might feel a bit gutted at the moment but it does happen all the time.

It happened to my daughter when she was around 16 months, she got really clingy and started crying when she was made to lay in a sleeping bag on a shoot, after that I stopped her modelling for a few years until recently when she has started up again.

The next shoot you have will probably be perfect

lanismum · 10/09/2006 18:04

woteva, the gallery on the kids london site has been there for ages, its just pics of jobs their kids have done, ones that have been in magazines ect, its not the kids actual pages with details on.

princessmel · 11/09/2006 07:32

Hi guys, Thanks for all your nice messages yesterday. I was at Legoland so didn't turn on comp all day!
I feel better about it now, just had a really bad day. Yesterday was tiring too but fun. We went to the Tumble Tots fun day they have every year at Legoland. Went with some friends. Dd was walking round lots with her reins. So cute! My dh is now finally convinced that she should be allowed some cruisers, yeay!
Good luck with jobs today.xx

princessmel · 11/09/2006 08:15

Back to the shoot, I am beginning to wonder if we are doing this with the right child! At the shoot on sat ds was confidently talking to everyone, laughing and being his normal self. When dd had finished the photographer said "now ds turn" and we said "oh, he's not doing it" and explained why and the photographer looked a bit confused. I think he would be great and I think the photographer had thought that he'd be much better than dd!. He may be lively but he loves attention and does what you ask when you take pics of him etc. I'll def send off his pics when he's settled at nursery.

Tinkerbel5 · 11/09/2006 08:20

Princess sounds like you're son would be ideal for modelling, I would defo put him forward.

See how you're daughter is on the next shoot, if she isnt confident doing it then give it a rest for a year or so and then just concentrate of you're son getting work.

You're son sounds very much like my DD, very happy go lucky.

julie4travel · 11/09/2006 09:30

morning all

princessmel- i have seen your sons picture and bet he would be snapped up by an agency especially with that sort of personality. my ds is like that. hopefully he will be all settled in soon and then you can look into it- maybe it would work out the right sort of timing when UA open their books in November?

my ds did the film on sat . he had a lovely time. It was a long time waiting etc and he didn't grumble once, we got there early so were waiting about 6 hours all in all yet he played football with the actors, had his own little room in this caravan, did quizzies, reading and his game boy and the time just seemed to fly by. He will literally be on the film for about a minute yet i am really glad he had the experience and that all the adults were lovely too him. Hopefully it will make it to the cinemas and if so I will post on here. Its not going to be launched till at least May time though apparently. I came home with a happy little chappie.

mrratty · 11/09/2006 09:31

princessmel - I really wouldn't worry at all. At her first shoot DD refused to wear one of the outfits (luckily they had a large selection), she was also quite fed up towards the end as it was a really long day. Both the photographer and stylist have used her since so it is something that they accept. Why did you not apply for your son initaly?

mrratty · 11/09/2006 09:32

julie4travel - Sounds like a good day, lucky him having his own room!!!

princessmel · 11/09/2006 09:36

Hi Julie, wow he had a trailer caravan like 'real' actors! How exciting
It sounds like it was a good day. Did they feed both of you? silly question but just wondered.

Tink and Julie, I think I will send off ds pictures. I was just concerned about him settling into nursery ok and also about his livleyness!(s)
He is fine when occupied though and you can't get more attention than being a model!

princessmel · 11/09/2006 09:38

Hi mrratty, I didn't apply for ds as he is starting nursery(school 5 mornings) and I thought it would be too disruptive if I had to take him out etc. I just wanted him to settle ok. I'm prob being silly but he's not used to being away from me every day. Pre school was only 2 mornings. He's been for 2 visits, next on wed and he was fine. Loved it.

mrratty · 11/09/2006 09:45

Livelyness is good they don't want a child to be like a wooden plank especially when it comes to boys character is good!
