hi

OP posts:
lanismum · 18/09/2006 10:50

, there was a distinct lack of dd1!

lanismum · 18/09/2006 10:51

yackerty, lakeside is good for me, my dp can drive me there without getting lost, he used to work there, though he did say no more driving ever.................

princessmel · 18/09/2006 10:54

Lakeside is ok ish for us. Is there soft play there or will it be shopping without kids???

tigeryuan · 18/09/2006 10:54

lanismum - your comment about thumbs is sooo right! hahaaa!!

i really wanted to get on the bumper car, but my ds didnt want to go at all!!! he was sooo chicken!!

princessmel · 18/09/2006 10:55

Mythumbs, I did see you actually, just didn't properly introduce myself. Think I thought you were a friend of someone else there. So sorry. Did your dd have the cute bunches?

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 10:55

lanismum, you look so well!! not like how i looked when i had morning sickness!!

yackerty, oh tell me about double pushchairs .. i helped my friend get hers down some steps once with both her kids in .. thought my fingers were going to break
Sorry you had to struggle .. i got dh to come with me and he actually enjoyed it there .. surprise!

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 10:59

princessmel, dd2 had pink top and dark jeans with hair in ponytail.
Sorry, when i saw some people i just couldn't tell and quite shy to just say hello

princessmel · 18/09/2006 11:00

Did you see me? I had the green sripy top on? Next time we need to wear badges!!

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 11:05

i think so .. were you chatting to lanismum in the baby area one time? If so, i thought you reminded me of somebody famous but couldn't think who

lanismum · 18/09/2006 11:09

aww thanks thumbs, but believe me, i had a lot of makeup on, my skin was a lovely shade of green earlier that morning, also, i keep getting outbreaks of spots, this happened to me last time too, thought your skin was supposed to get better while pregnant, bah, not me!
yackerty, double buggies, aaaaggggghhhh, which 1 do you have? im trying to work out if i will need one, or if i can get away with a buggyboard/sling combo, i really shouldnt buy another buggy, but im not sure if lani will be well behaved enough to walk by the time the new baby is born.

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 11:09

tigeryuan, good that ds enjoyed himself
my friend recognised your ds from the shoot .. so it was nice you got to meet her
my two ran around so much .. dd2 loved the big wavy slide, i went a few rounds on that with her and was tired out!!

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 11:14

lanismum, it's a tough one about the buggy. What if dd refuses to sit in it most of the time? then you'd be pushing a big thing about .. then again what if she falls asleep?
My sis managed to get thru 3 kids w/o buying a double buggy .. she got one of those buggyboards like a step, so they can stand or sit

princessmel · 18/09/2006 11:18

Hi, yes I was. We went on the dodgems too and the roundabout thingy. I have long brown straight hair and had jeans on. Going to collect ds now!!!

mythumbelinas · 18/09/2006 11:26

so sorry we didn't get to at least say hello princessmel, but now i will def look out for you on the next meet

dh day off today .. going out for lunch now ..

3lambs · 18/09/2006 11:27

Morning all. sounds like the meet up went well(apart from the traffic!). Are all your lo's similar ages? what was the age range of the kids there?

hi julie, sympathise with you on the forking out for train tickets etc, what will you do about castings, will you do them anyway or just wait for definite jobs?? Haven't heard from B&B yet, only been 2 weeks tho but can't help hoping for a call!!
Yeah we should meet for a cuppa one time your back, have just booked kids world for ds party!! so easy there!!

princessmel · 18/09/2006 12:04

Who do you think I look like thumbs????

We have a buggy board and its great. I worried that ds wouldn't stay on it but he does. When I go out with dh for the day or somewhere boring we usually take both buggies and push one each. If I'm on my own I use the buggy with buggy board and ds hops on and off as he wants.

julie4travel · 18/09/2006 12:28

hi ya

3 lambs- will still do castings yet only through the agency quitting on unpaid ones for a while!
Hopefully we will get something soon!

Freddiesmummy · 18/09/2006 13:34

Hi Everyone,

My 16month old son has been with Racals since December. He has had around 6 castings and 1 job for Littlewoods back in March (which he still hasn't been paid for!!).

He has not had any calls for casting for any of the Xmas jobs that are around.

Do you think I should change agencies or is this just normal for boys of his age - I'm not sure how much work is out there for him.

Am I hoping for too much?

Thanks

Ragamuffin · 18/09/2006 14:42

Hi Freddysmummy.....Welcome to the thread. I can help you on the paying aspect with Rascals. They only pay out quarterly 1st Feb,1st May, 1st Aug and 1st Nov.......and then only if they have been paid for the job themselves. If you don't get a cheque in early Nov then I would e-mail/write to enquire.

Maybe something to remind them you are still out there is needed. How about e-mailing recent photos with a little note to say...we haven't had a casting in ages???? Sometimes agencies do just need a little reminding. Good Luck!

Glad you all had such a good time at the meet-up! and sorry to hear that the cm.net shoot wasn't a great experience. You get good jobs and bad.........just sometimes the bad can be really awful!

Tinkerbel5 · 18/09/2006 16:13

Hiya, glad the meetup went well, if you ever decide to meet again and choose lakeside I would be up for it, I only live down the road

elle31 · 18/09/2006 16:33

sorry phoenix mum, had a long day yesterday and not even a drop to drink (for once ha ha).

ellesmum - it does sound like it is quiet at the moment, one company really wanted her for a knitting pattern shoot, it was in Oxford so was going to be great money but it turned out that she was too tall for the 5-6 year old measurements. She was also up for a Kellogs advert it was between her and another girl and the other girl got the license before us. Nevermind something will turn up

Ragamuffin · 18/09/2006 16:35

I have to say also that a meet-up at Lakeside would also be loads easier for me too!!

kerryarron · 18/09/2006 16:42

Hi, does anyone have any experience of B&B, and how long do they normally take to give an answer? I've heard that they are a good agency, but I don't know if I should wait for an answer (have a feeling it'll be no!), or just go with Bubblegum?!

littlemadam · 18/09/2006 16:57

Julie, we did a casting for Littlewoods last weekend which he didn't get, otherwise nothing lined up. Think they must let the older children settle in to school, I think most parents wouldn't like to take them out early in a new year, so perhaps will pick up again in a couple of weeks. Glad really, DS is settling in and pretty tired!!!

Hope we can make a meet up soon, you'll all have to wear a MN badge!!! I know I saw marymay at a casting and we were both too worried about looking like stalkers to ask about MN!!!
