The thread that Val started has now been moved to General Health. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2016081-Zombie-needs-her-limbs-holding?msgid=46439734

Please keep posting there if you wish.

As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

YAY! CT scan appointment letter has arrived. Next Tuesday at 2.00pm. They will scan thorax, abdomen and pelvis with contrast. That should show up any pesky nasties that might be lurking.

Glad you have your letter Zombie, at least you know that you are moving nearer in terms of your treatment. But I hope that they find nothing more. You have had enough to cope with.

IamtheZombie · 15/05/2014 00:09

Phantom itchy nipple alert! Scratching the remaining skin does nothing. 'Scratching' the air where the nipple used to be does.

The weird things they don't warn you about...

You need to rub in some phantom soothing body lotion, a really expensive one Grin

I have my next lot of appointments through.

Oncologist on Thursday, 22nd May at 4.30pm. That's just 2 days after my CT scan so I will know the full strength of what I'm dealing with very quickly. My best friend will be over from Dublin and will go to the appointment with me. I'm really glad I won't be alone.

Surgeon on Friday, 14th November.

I'm also popping in to my surgeon's clinic at 11.20am tomorrow to have Serena Seroma drained yet again.

Bedtime is rapidly approaching so I bid you all good night and sweet dreams.

You are gong o busy with both apts only a couple of days apart. I am so glad that your friend will be here to go with you, nice to have her support. I did have a chuckle at your "Serena Seroma" . Hope this will be . The last time you have to have it drained. Have a good nights sleep.

Allalonenow · 15/05/2014 23:27

Sleep tight Zombie Smile

Wolfiefan · 15/05/2014 23:30

Night night Zombie. Hoping there are no lurking nasties. Glad you will have someone with you though. xx

lessonsintightropes · 15/05/2014 23:41

Good luck and much love, Zombie xx

IamtheZombie · 16/05/2014 16:50

The very nice Registrar, Mr. Dube and Senior Breast Clinic Nurse, Mandy drained 150ml of fluid from Serena Seroma this morning. I'm hoping she takes the hint and doesn't return for another visit.

I was in and out quickly enough to take advantage of the half hour free parking.

As you can see, I continue to heal nicely! Grin

I hope it wasnt too painful for you to have the drain today. I have to say your new scar looks to be healing beautifully. Lets hope you next scans show there is nothing there. You are a very brave person and have a wonderful " no nonsense" attitude about you. Lets get the 20th and 22nd out of the way !

Allalonenow · 16/05/2014 19:38

Hello Zombie are you allowed some Wine as it's Friday night?

magimedi · 16/05/2014 20:00

So pleased to hear you have the scan appointment.

All magi digits will be crossed for you.

IamtheZombie · 16/05/2014 20:17

mummy, it wasn't at all painful.

All, of course I'm allowed Wine!

magi, I'm going to try to sweet talk the radiologist into giving me at least a hint as to what the scan shows.

I have had a fantastic day.

The perfect weather goes without saying.

My cousin-in-law came over for coffee this morning and we sat in the garden drinking coffee and chatting. Her miniature schnauzer loved running around the garden. The cats weren't overly impressed but as the schnauzer was afraid of them all was calm.

This afternoon I went to a Vintage Fair and may have come home with a dress...

This evening an old friend rang. We've not seen each other in years but that is soon to be rectified. Plans are afoot for much mischief and merriment. I have found my partner in crime. Plans include a fortnight in Kos as soon as I've finished my chemo. I can't wait.

Life is so bloody great. Grin Grin Grin

Lovely to hear you sounding so happy. Wine Wine

IamtheZombie · 17/05/2014 22:26

I am happy, Norm. Happier than I've been in a very long time. It's only with hindsight that I realise how much negativity there was in my life and that (TwatH) is now gone.

Good morning, Mumsnet!

It's been a glorious weekend Chez Zombie.

After Saturday's social whirl, I spent yesterday attacking the laundry mountain. It was a perfect drying day and I felt a real sense of accomplishment when I'd filled the clothesline.

Today I shall continue with the laundry and with getting ready for my friend's arrival on Thursday.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Zombie, you are marvellous! Such a good and productive weekend - lots of washing! How was your friend?

A couple of weeks in Kos sounds fab Grin
