The thread that Val started has now been moved to General Health. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2016081-Zombie-needs-her-limbs-holding?msgid=46439734

Please keep posting there if you wish.

As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

The Wedding of River Song is on iplayer if that's your bag, Zombie?

I've retired to bed with a book. Hope you get lots of rest tonight xx

Jux · 11/05/2014 00:13

Buggeration, Zombie. Sorry. xxx

mummylin2495 · 11/05/2014 18:00

How is your day going today zombie ?

IamtheZombie · 11/05/2014 18:28

It's been pretty good, mummy. I haven't accomplished a single thing other than just now shoving a chicken in the oven for dinner. But that's just fine.

I snuck ZombieCatT up to bed with me last night and we had a lovely snuggly night.

My left chest was very achy and uncomfortable when I got up but I took some co-codamol straight away so that soon eased. I topped up with some paracetamol earlier and will take some ibuprofen just before I go to bed. Part of the reason I was so grumpy yesterday is that I tried to ignore the discomfort for too long.

I've got my fingers crossed that I get my CT scan appointment through tomorrow or Tuesday. I just want to forge ahead with getting my treatment plan in place.

I'm meeting up with a friend on Tuesday and really looking forward to lots of cuddles with her 4 1/2 month old baby. Grin

I too hope your apt through tomorrow, the sooner they can get on with your treatment the sooner it will be over.
You are lucky being able to cuddle a little baby, even my GC are now adult so I have to wait for them to start producing !
Keeping fingers crossed that the postman calls tomorrow !

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 12/05/2014 00:12

Hi Zombie, sorry to hear about your achiness - just gobble those pills - you don't need to put up with that.

Your friend's cakes look divine, hope she stocks your freezer with some.

Don't go getting all broody again with that baby Grin

Daughter's hen do was yesterday, 6 of them managed to "just a sip" their way through 7 bottles of prosecco during afternoon tea at my house I didn't help them at all, promise!

Hoping for your scan appointment to come through very soon, it would be good if things could crack on now.

Moments of exquisite joy are to be treasured. I had one tonight.

I've mentioned my son before and that he was adopted by my first husband's extended family. I got in contact with him in January and with his adoptive mum a bit later. He and I have been getting to know each other and his adoptive mum has been incredibly supportive.

Today is Mother's Day in America. Earlier this evening my son's adoptive mum wished me a Happy Mother's Day.

I wept tears of joy.

Evening all.

I got very little sleep last night. No idea why. At first my brain just wouldn't slow down. Once it did I had great difficulty getting comfortable. I really only dozed intermittently all night.

Today however has been fantastic. I met my friend for brunch and had loads and loads of lovely cuddles and snuggles with her 19wo baby. Baby is almost sitting up unaided. She does have a tendancy to list to her left but I found that if I stroked her right cheek she remained upright. She's also discovered the joys of gnawing on knuckles and fingers. Methinks teeth can't be far off. I can also report that baby has VERY strong jaws!! Grin

I had a nap when I got home and now feel refreshed, relaxed and as though I will sleep well tonight.

Still no word on my CT scan. I need to ring my BCN tomorrow anyway as I need more fluid drained. I'll ask her about the CT then.

Sounds like a wonderful, baby cuddling day! xxx p.s hope you hear about the scan soon too.

mummylin2495 · 13/05/2014 21:06

I hope you will sleep better tonight Zombie, how lovely. Is cuddling little chubby babies, seems a ling time since I did that, but it was only two years ago when my sister had twin girls, then I had two together !
When will you have to have the fluid drained again ? Lets hope your letter arrives tomorrow. Sending you sleeping vibes.
