The thread that Val started has now been moved to General Health. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2016081-Zombie-needs-her-limbs-holding?msgid=46439734

Please keep posting there if you wish.

As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

Sleep tight Zombie Thanks

IamtheZombie · 26/04/2014 23:30

I've had another lazy day. Grin

Lovely surprise this morning when Mr Ocado delivered some stunning flowers and chocolates. Then Mr Postie brought another pointless luxury. I'm feeling utterly spoiled.

I did go into Craven Arms for bread and milk this afternoon - 14/15 mile round trip. It was good to get out of the house for an hour.

I have a favour to ask you lovely people.

My best friend is going to hospital in Dublin tomorrow. Over the past 10 years or so she's had 2 different parts of her spine fused. She is still in a lot of pain. Tomorrow she is having some injections in her neck / upper spine to try to alleviate this.

So could you please send her all the warm fuzzy feelings you can.

IamtheZombie · 28/04/2014 22:26

Thank you all. xxx

I'm going to have an early night. It's been a pleasantly productive day. I cleaned the kitchen, ran the hoover around, had a nice chat with a couple of neighbours and went to Tesco in Ludlow this evening. I shall sleep well tonight.

The District Nurse should come tomorrow and remove the dressing and steri-strips. I'm looking forward to meeting my new smiley scar!

I'm not nervous at all. A wee bit excited perhaps. Grin

OP posts:
ZingWatermelon · 29/04/2014 13:05

aaw, that's nice!Smile
you have such a great attitudeThanks

WingDefence · 29/04/2014 15:04

Ooh hope you are free of those steristrip things soon!

IamtheZombie · 29/04/2014 18:01

The steri-strips are history!! There are a couple of scabs at the armpit end of the wound that aren't ready to fall off yet so there's still a small dressing protecting them. But, I've been told I can shower and put a fresh dressing on myself afterwards. The Nurse will come again on Friday to check the progress and hopes to be able to discharge me then.

I'll get a couple of pictures and put them up later.
