As most of you know, I'm having my second mastectomy on Thursday. I will almost certainly need to have more chemotherapy.

This is my thread for those who wish to walk beside me on my journey.

How's it going today, zombie? Any sunshine on your face?

It's going well, Liney. I pretty much slept the clock around - 11 hours - and only woke up at noon. Today is a take it easy day.

It's more bright than sunny here. It's nice and mild though. The windows are open and I'm listening to my neighbour attacking the meadow that is supposed to be one of my lawns. 'Tis music to my ears.

Glad that you seem to be recovering well. What will be your next treatment ?

I see my surgeon on 9th May for my post-op follow up, mummy. I'm expecting to then be sent back to oncology within a couple of weeks of that to discuss chemotherapy. I can't have anymore radiotherapy.

I hope it will all go well for you, you are a very brave lady and it's good to see you retain your humour despite your illness, a real inspiration to others

I made pasta with three different kinds of cheese last night, and thought of you

I have this idea to send you a stinky cheese hamper, but am fearful of the consequences if you are out getting milk. It could end up in an overheated sorting office miles away, affecting the productivity of the hapless postal workers.

I suppose I could create a bijou one that fits through a letter box. Kind of pixie sized.

It's been very restful, All. Or, if you prefer, lazy...

My neighbour did a lot more work on my garden today. I love the smell of freshly mown grass.

Best of all, I had my first post-op shower! It's sooooo nice to have clean hair again. Sponge baths just don't do it for me.

Also had a long chat with my bestie who lives in Dublin now. She's coming over for 5 days in May. I've not seen her in a couple of years so I'm really excited about that.

All in all, a very good day.

District nurse came this morning. She left the steri-stips in situ until Monday or Tuesday. One end of the incision is still slightly wet so better safe than sorry. Back to sponge baths for the weekend...

On a happier note the postman delivered Liney's pointless luxury and it is YUMMY!

Grey and damp here today so I decided a nap was in order. ZombieCatT managed to scamper past me before I could close the lounge door so she got to cuddle with me. Trying to do sudoku puzzles with a cat trying to nuzzle one's face, arm, hand and the pen is not easy. I finally put the puzzle down and had another 10 minutes of her grooming me before we both fell asleep.

Glad the very teeny tiny pointless luxury arrived intact, zombie.

I can't do sudoku btw. It melts my eyes.

I've never had a cat, but always fancied one, what colour is your cat "Zombie"? I bet they are soothing and calming and fun.

It's poured with rain all day here, so if it's been the same for you Zombie I hope you have frittered away the day eating treats, indulging in pointless luxury and playing games.

The first one is Maisie. The second one is Tinkerbelle. She's the one who came up for the nap today. The third one is Gemma (who is secretly my favourite).

Your cats are beautiful, they look as though you spoil them a lot, I bet they all have their favorite treats? I especially like the grey one, and I love their names!!

I'm having a little glass of limoncello before I sag in a heap, hope you have got a nip of something too.

I'll still never agree that any luxury is pointless, but I'm glad you're getting some anyway Zombie.

They are beautiful cats. I love the grey one - always wanted a grey cat. I have had one tortoiseshell cat; she was lovely but neurotic. Right now, I have a large very wet tabby sitting on the pillow behind my back licking my hair. He is bonkers.

Have just caught up with your news over the past week (kept missing the updates due to time difference and crazy work)
