Am slightly regretting turning my mother on to this.

She keeps emailing and phoning me for clarification Grin

It's increased her vocab and she keeps asking me if it would be OK if she quotes it at Blind Veterans where she volunteers. I've told her she has a responsibility to bring them up to date.

She's 82 Grin

sanssoleil · 14/03/2014 20:58

Grin of recognition-sis has been texting me all day to read her various articles/google entries about people colleagues she has 'issues' with

Apparantely I do good mofo gangsta....

WRT your lovely mum-it is just the sort of bangin thang the elderly academic who is blind would love me reading to him for the shizzle gigglez.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 14/03/2014 22:59

She is deeply lovely, and one of the ways that manifests is that she cannot let go of herself, so she would read, with relish, but in her normal voice. (sort of wannabe Joyce Grenfell)
Which might make it even funnier.
We've got photo opportunities across the boards, should we campaign for audio clips?

sanssoleil · 14/03/2014 23:05

Absolutely video answers-if they have VAs on Ask.fm then MN SHOULD GET DOWN AND DIRTY WITH THE KIDZ

^^ oops Wine

I agree reading it straight and fluently would be bare hilare Grin

I hate and loathe hyperforeignism in fluent speech

Wine[spliff][om]

sanssoleil · 14/03/2014 23:48

Ahem PEACE N LOVE Wine

Hyperforeignism is when people over emphasise the accent of a foreign word when speaking in a different language-not that neurological disorder when people appear to be speaking in a differebt accent-that is well dodgeballz

I think that Z is well aware we are competitive tone-lowerers!!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/03/2014 00:02

I'm only about peace 'n love.

Except that I now have to go and spat with my dad about Tony Benn.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/03/2014 00:18

And you'd struggle to find anyone less competitive than me.

That's partly down to my dad too.

sanssoleil · 15/03/2014 20:48

I loved Tony Benn, met him a couple of times when I was a student.

Somebody once told me Bee that I was the most competitive person at being'uncompetitive' that they had met Sad

Back in from a big cook and I stink of cumin [made falafel a la Jack Munroe]and vats of garlickey dhaal.

Wine to the Dustbin crewSmile

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/03/2014 23:38

Is two a crew?

I could eat whole vats of that dhaal all to myself Wine

Very bitter man, my dad. For my children's sake I'm glad he lives the other side of the world Sad

A yippee today, the bridesmaids dresses are bought - they're black and identical Shock. I like the look.

sanssoleil · 15/03/2014 23:55

Bridesmaids sound well #cool muthabaitchas!

I guess we are a crew but what is the mofo motb threadz??

My father is just,well,..........................................

Wish you could be tasting the dhal.

Wine after s long day

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 15/03/2014 23:59

At least it means I can be more relaxed about including black in what I wear. Have been studiously avoiding.

I really want a pill box hat with a black veil Grin

sanssoleil · 16/03/2014 00:10

Are there not loads of 'vintage' type shops and advice where you live?

Customise a mantilla at the very least xx

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/03/2014 00:19

Shops yes, advice not so much.

I've got a mantilla but it would be too floppy. I want thick, stiff net Smile

sanssoleil · 16/03/2014 00:36

Vintage clothes fairs can often point you in direction-you must be able to access quite a few xx

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/03/2014 00:59

I still like the idea of getting something made.

Just watched Smoky Robinson concert in Hyde Park, I think from last year.
He wrote some brilliant songs, and the boy is cute!

sanssoleil · 16/03/2014 01:10

I think you are in pretty good place to get something made/bespoke.

Love watching all these 'sessions' on BBC4

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/03/2014 01:22

There's a bunch of people doing Stones songs now, mostly tossers, but divine bald woman wearing a kilt.

Ooh and now dead-pan Marianne Faithful, oh dear Grin

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/03/2014 01:31

Wiiild horses, couldn't drag me awaaaaay ...

sanssoleil · 16/03/2014 02:00

Marianne Faithfull-one conventschool girl lead astray!

magimedi · 16/03/2014 13:34

Bewitched you are in Brighton, aren't you?

There is that amazing hat shop at the very far end of the North Laines, just in the street you'd climb up under the station. I am pretty sure they will alter/make up any hat you want.

www.madhattersandfriends.co.uk/

I got my 'at for DS's wedding there, in the sale & bought my outfit round the hat IYSWIM.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 17/03/2014 00:22

Yes, thanks magi, that's Trafalgar St, and there's another one round the corner in Sydney St.
I've found a fantastic hat hire warehouse too, in Herstmonceux.
Can't really get my head round the hat, haha, until I know what I'm wearing.
I think I've given myself an insoluble dilemma. I want to look sophisticated and chic for the ceremony and next couple of hours swanning with fizz , but I want to look rock and roll for the band, playlist, dancing Grin

Third horn of dilemma is how to still be upright after the swanning?
