mykidsmum - Yes he said someone started a list, thought it was very sensible too!!! He said that DD went in third.

mrratty · 15/08/2006 18:30

Mykids - just spoke to DP and it sounds as if he was sitting next to you and your twins!

Tinkerbel5 - It seems a good age for modelling. DD has done school wear, clothes and toys and a couple of magazine jobs. Shes only been doing it since April so we are not that knowledgable about what is out their either.

Tinkerbel5.Congrats re dd joining B &B ! Fab agency.DD is with them too !
We went along to a shoot for" Tesco Baby and Toddler magazine " today.Job was really enjoyable and went really well. Team were soooo lovely. DD made apple and blackberry crumble so they took step by step pics . DD loved getting her hands all gooey and mucky . Guess what I was asked if I could help out and be in background so my arm and hand may appear in some shots and I am getting paid too. What a bonus! Cookery feature should appear November ish time.

lanismum · 15/08/2006 18:54

thorntons, excellent,what a lovely job!

lanismum · 15/08/2006 18:55

by the way, dd looks lovely in junior, she looks loads older than she does in real life, very cute!

mrratty · 15/08/2006 19:00

thorntons - thats sounds like a reallt nice job. My youngest would have loved that as she is always helping me in the kitchen. Great your getting paid too!

thorntons · 15/08/2006 19:10

Thanks lanismum and mratty! If dd has a tummy ache tonight I know why,she ate quite a bit of the raw crumble mixture !! Was really funny as neither of us wore aprons so we both looked a bit of a state after she had finished with the crumble! She was asked to "pat" the fruit down with her hands before the crumble went on,she was beating it to a pulp and blackberry juice went squishing everywhere including the photographer!
Lanismum and Cyan, definitely up for this park meet. Thanks for arranging it. We can make 3 Sep or 17th sep .Just a thought ,A Sunday would be brill for mums who are driving in as free to park in town ,but of course will go with the majority!!

Tinkerbel5 · 15/08/2006 19:50

thorntons what a great job, well done to you're little girl for doing so well and you also

thorntons · 15/08/2006 20:06

Thanks tinkerbel5 ...my bit was dead easy,dd loved it as she was so having so much fun making a mess! Good luck to your dd with B&B I am sure she will do very well!

mykidsmum · 15/08/2006 20:32

Your dd mrratty is lovely, she gave me a few cute grins, she was playing her gameboy, and i chatted to your dp about what a good idea they were at castings!

Cyan meet up sounds fab, can't do the first two weekends in sept cause of family birthdays, but the others should be okay, I echo whoever it was that said sundays sound best! Great of you and Lanismum to get our bums in gear! Means i now have a good excuse to start my diet and get my haircut!

mrratty · 15/08/2006 20:47

mykidsmum - Thanks!! DP mentioned that you said you would buy the twins a gameboy for christmas. We only got one for DD because we were fighting over it. We got her second hand from game for £20 including 4 second hand games of our choice, which is a real bargin. She does spend most of her time asking us to do bits for her.

dylansluckymum · 15/08/2006 22:06

I know I'm a newbie but I would love to meet everyone! I have family birthdays the first 2 weeks in sept as well but if it's another weekend I'll def be there. I'm Canadian and have struggled a bit not knowing any other mums here. All my friends back home have kids but here they're all more or less single.

thorntons that sounds like a great job i can't wait until ds is old enough to bake with me, of course by that time dp will probably have him into football etc and i'll have to coerce him!!

pimms i just read what 'Anthea' is that's so cool i'd love to have that done! our flat is a right state. i'll def be watching!

YummyMummy21 · 15/08/2006 23:05

Hi All,
Hope everyone is well
Good Luck for any castings/ those awaiting news on jobs.

Cyan & Lanismum> I can do any of the dates as long as I know about a week in advance as DD sees her dad at weekends.

Ellesmum> DD is nearly 19 months, but she gets on with children of all ages. Maybe we could meet for a coffee/lunch or something?

Tinkerbel5> Welcome to the thread Congrats for your DD and getting into B&B.

Havnt heard anything back about the C & G thing so am just concluding that its a NO which is a shame. Never mind though Littlewoods are intrested in using her again so will have to see how that turns out (Finger crossed)

Take Care all.
I cant wait to meet those of you who I havnt yet met, and see those of you that I have again.

xXx

housemum · 15/08/2006 23:42

Cyan - from a relative newbie here, so please just arrange something and if I can make it I will - first two weeks are out for me. I like the idea of free parking on a Sunday - where is there in London that you can park for free? (Thinking of days out etc as easier to park & get tube somewhere)

cyan · 16/08/2006 01:01

ok looking good it seems like a few peeps cant make the first two weeks so am thinking 17th or 23rd of september (they are sundays).

A park would be nice but not sure what the weather will be like round then, im going to have a look into some places that are kid friendly etc and see if i can come up with something that will suit all ages seeing as I know we all have a mix of ages!!!!

so far interested:
cyan
lanismum
thorntons
mykids
dylansmummy

if anyone else is interested add your name and we can start organising something!!! general consensus is a sunday and the last 2 weeks of sept are looking the best!!!

princessmel · 16/08/2006 08:33

Hi everyone,
We'd love to come to a meet up but I don't think that I qualify as a Moggelling Mum as dd hasn't even had a casting yet! Shoots not till sept 9th.
We're of to Stevenage hospital today as ds is having his allergy test. I hope its not too painfull for him.
Julie> WELL DONE on getting a yes from BB!!!
Thorntons> We read the tesco mag, our HV is sometimes in it doing sleep or eating articles. she's v nice. Nice job!

yackertyyack · 16/08/2006 08:49

Morning all ........count us in for either of the last 2 weeks in september
Hope everyone gets big fat yeses for the catsings they are waiting on.
PRINCESSMEL - If you have completed all your forms etc I am sure that your DD is already be being considered for castings as the model book is optional. So you could be getting a call anyday!! Hope your DS tests go ok
YUMMY - Will still keep fingers crossed for the C&G as no news is good news.
LANIS - Hope you are still feeling ok!
MYTHUMBERLINAS - I was reading Mother & Baby yesterday and saw your DD 'allergy' ad, its a full page pic, have you got a copy? would you like me to save it for you???

Thanks cyan and Yackerty, I just feel a bit diff to you guys as you are all doing really well and know each other etc. It will be funny to see what you look like in RL!
Went for a meal last night with ante natel friends from ds preg and the dad gave me some gorgeous photos of dd and ds he took last time we saw them. He is a photographer so they are so much nicer than pics I take. The waitress commented on them and looked through them all!

cyan · 16/08/2006 09:45

princessmel> some of us have already met up, but it will be lovely to meet some others and put some names to faces.

im sure your LO's time will come, we had a spell of loads of castings and jobs a cpl of months back, and for the last 2 months we have heard nada! so i really think it such an unpredictable industry!

2ManyPimms · 16/08/2006 10:01

Princessmel: Just dug out the following info for Herts CC...

Children, Schools and Families
Jane Slater
Performing Licence Co-ordinator
County Hall
Hertford
SG13 8DF

Hope that helps!

Talk about in-and-out for the George Casting yesterday! DS was looking rumpled and crumpled because I made the mistake of letting him choose what he was going to wear. I wonder how long it will be before we know if our LOs were successful.

everyone - I'll shamelessly self-promote on the 7th with a reminder to watch Anthea Turner that night. (8:00 - BBC3!) I did all the work with my own wee little hands in Marigolds! The house is a TIP again because of the move but I intend to put into place my cleaning regime once settled into our new Polly-Pocket house!

The meet-up sounds like a GREAT idea! Later in September would be better for me. I'd love to put screen names to faces and meet everyone's LOs!

Off now into town...mail to redirect, keys to cut, food to buy....
