julie4travel · 12/08/2006 12:32

I haven't heard back from b and b yet- but it was only Thurs his appointment so hopefully i will know soon

mimi1uk · 12/08/2006 12:44

oh well good luck for that ! he is a little cutie! and look a cheeky happy chappy, and also a dedicated one at that (missing sis bd party and all) so im sure they will snap ur fingers off!!!!!!!!!!!!! who is ur dd going with|?? ts?

julie4travel · 12/08/2006 12:51

mimi- yes sent her cheque off for ts the other day. i think they will be good to see how she goes as she hasn't done any modelling before. she will be on their books from 01 Jan (they don't start them straight away like other agents) she will have her shoot in oct ready for it. Fingers crossed for her. She is starting ballet and gym club when she goes back to pre school in Sept, we brought her the ballet clothes for her birthday and since then keeps dressing up in it round the house.

My ds is starting street dancing at the local stageschool. He loves dancing , realistically isn't great at it though so decided for that class they do modern stuff like to songs on MTV and stuff for shows like Sat Night fever. I would have loved that when I was a kid. The school have said we can switch over to a different class if he doesn't like it they do drama, tap , modern boys classes etc so are quite good. I would love him to give me a few lessons so i can get fit again!!!

mimi1uk · 12/08/2006 13:13

ah i used to do all that as a kid and i loved it especially the ballet the little shoes are just lush!!!!!!!!!!!, it so cute seeing all th little uns in their ballet clothes prancing around! now thats making me laught ur ds, teaching u to dance to music on mtv lol,,, i would fall over anf break my neck

Hello everyone,
I saw DD in the window of Mothercare which was fantastic. There were 2 pics both the same up and I did take photos. DD was too tired to come so I went alone . The best thing though was that I asked one of the sales asistants if she could save one for me, she went to ask her manager and returned with one of the posters!!!!!! (I guess they have spares incase they ruin them when they put them up). It now have pride of place in our kitchen - DD is so happy with it as am I!!!!!!

Mykids - The shoot our children did was for the PR catalouge which is sent out to magazines, and for using in store -so the children may pop up somewhere!

Gosh, what a lot has been going on!!

Mrratty, will look out for your DD, you must be bursting with pride!!

Marymay, congrats for your DS, glad he enjoyed it!! Quite relieved we didn't get the Zurich one aren't you?? Awful situation....we were at Kings Cross yesterday and the police are quite jumpy....

Lanismum, congrats! Hope you are feeling well, how old is Lani??

We had casting for Disney yesterday. Initially turned it down as it was in the morning and I couldn't get childcare, but BB rang back and said they would really like us to go so made the effort..we got to go up the 28th floor of the Gherkin building for the casting which was really exciting for DS. Anyway the casting people asked DS if he would like to be a pirate for their Christmas brochure, so hoping thats a positive...maybe the gappy tooth will be OK!!

Thorntons, congrats, love the White Company stuff, and their catalogue is a classic!

Julie, hope you have good news, sure you will, your DS will be fab with all his extra skills as well as his looks!!

DylansLM welcome!

Fingers crossed for all the people waiting on castings!!!

hi all.i need some advice if anyone can help.had a call form dd agency for a small part for her in a commercial (back ground i think).received all the forms today and have got to takes them to the council on monday.the only thing that worrys me is on them it said it took 21 days.the shoot on the 22nd august.can anyone tell if it take that long to sort out.dd will be disapointed if she has to miss out .thanks

julienetmum · 12/08/2006 22:52

It depends on your local Education Welfare Officer. I managed to get 12 licences sorted in less than 2 weeks, despite there being some initial problems.

What helped was the fact that I contacted them first to say I would be dropping the forms off. Often EWO's work part time and this is holiday season.

I also picked the licenses up inperson rather than waiting for them to be posted to me.

Make sure all the paperwork is complete and you have all the accompanying documentation. Hopefully it should be quite simple. Are you chaperoning or is someone else, if so make sure they have everything in order to with regards to their matron approval.

marymay · 12/08/2006 23:01

julienetmum..thanks for the advise .her agency have already called them and so hopefully we might be lucky and get it done in time.

yackertyyack · 13/08/2006 08:20

marymay.....each council is different!!! We are really lucky and ours will do all they can to get it done for you. I contact them and arrange to email all the docs over and if its needed urgently they will put it to the top of the pile!! Although they tend to say 21 days I think they are used to ones needed in a hurry!!
GOOD LUCK

yackertyyack · 13/08/2006 08:22

Sorry meant to re-assure you and say that we have had a license granted in 3 days before so I am sure you will be fine.

princessmel · 13/08/2006 09:53

Hi Julie, the party went really well thanks. I was quite pleased with the cake in the end, even though it was a bit messy close-up and the tower was a bit wonky! It tasted nice though. I'll email you a pic when the photos are on the comp. The weather was not very good. It was mostly dry but quite cold and all the girls had fairy outfits on so not the warmest of things! It was a wings party. The boys had wings too. They had magic wands in the party bags. Dd's pressies were so cute and girly! She had a baby doll and a princess with a carriage (from elc happyland, I think) and a jewellery box and loads of pink things!

princessmel · 13/08/2006 09:54

mrratty, well done on getting the poster! Did you have to prove that you were actually her mother (as dd wasn't with you) or did they just believe you?

mrratty · 13/08/2006 10:46

princessmel - Ha.ha. thats not something I thought about. They took my word for it. I guess it's not an everyday request for them!

OP posts:
littlemadam · 13/08/2006 11:01

Marymay>>>just to say that our LA says 21 days too, and they did ours in 4 days when it was a rush job....think they just give a long stop date. Best of luck to your DD!!!
