Hello...

OP posts:
2ManyPimms · 08/08/2006 15:23

ells - great news on the job!!!!

Ragamuffin - WOW! A whole slew of work! Summers are great for that! All at once. I only have the one you sent over - if I sent you the disk back, would you be able to put the bathroom one on? I'd REALLY appreciate it if you could!

Tinks - Welcome back - glad the house is coming together for you. I am living vicariously through you. I'd KILL for a house to re-do.

littlemadam - DS's head isn't looking that fab. The redness is going to take a long time to fade. I am seriously paranoid about the scar affecting his chances in the industry. On a lighter note, the Anthea programme will be on sometime in September so I'll let everyone know (in a shameless bit of self-promotion! )

ellesmum · 08/08/2006 15:55

thamks pimms, hope your little ones head gets better very soon.

littlemadam · 08/08/2006 16:31

Pimms, sure Ds's head will get better soon. I don't think it will matter, for stills they can easily use a bit of make up, lots of kids have bumps and rashes at inconvenient moments. For the TV work I think they like boys to look like boys, so it won't matter.

Amal said the French meat ad brief was changed, so they had to send older boys. Can't wait to see you on TV in Sept, wish my house could be done over (needs several large skip lorries!!)

Any more news on MNers castings?????

2ManyPimms · 08/08/2006 16:50

LM - Ta for that! I didn't get feeback from B&B.

You made me feel MUCH better about his scar, BTW. He has been used to a phone call for a casting about once a week - he is wondering what is going on. Swings and roundabouts isn't it???

littlemadam · 08/08/2006 17:22

Pimms, think it happens like that, we had a really quiet period in May/June, I'm sure it will pick up again soon, in September will be all the Autumn/Winter stuff starting again!!!

Ds is about to lose his first tooth...he is apprehensive but can't wait to put it for the tooth faity!! I guess this will affect his modelling, but I think he's gorgeous anyway!!

lindac · 08/08/2006 17:25

julie4travel> is that your son on childmodelling star of the week he is cheeky looking very handsome?
i managed to put my dd on Tilz and my granson Jack
sounds like your all getting some great jobs x

educatingrita · 08/08/2006 18:10

Hi strawbs.
What a shame but sods law as you say.

The castings yesterday afternoon were for nintendo and Virgin and they were same day calls for me so I guess one of those were the ones your DD was contacted about.

I wouldnt worry, they must know that phoning hours before a casting the majority of people will be busy.

MOT dont hold it against you if you cant go, ive said no lots of times and they still phone again soon.

Hope you get some more calls that are more convenient soon x

strawberrymilkshake · 08/08/2006 19:25

We didnt go for the photoshoot for the book, as not got the funds at the moment. Do you think it helps to be in the book. Thing is we have to pay for spotlight soon, which i do feel that dd with benefit from.

What were the castings like, was they really busy, where were they.

YummyMummy21 · 08/08/2006 19:46

HI guys I need some advice, DD was shortlisted for the C&G jobs the other day which I think most of you know.
I was told that I needed to get the licence stuff (pics, docs letter etc.) to the council tomorrrow (Wed) for it to be done in time for the job on 17/18 Aug.
Spoke to her agencey yesterday re: a different job, and was told that she would contact me today to let me know what I needed to do re: the council.
I have been out all day and have just realised that I havnt spoken to them today and now there offices are closed.
I have just assumed that DD didnt get the job so the agency didnt ring today as no longer need the licence.
I have just spoken to my mum who said that something might have happened and ringing me may have slipped their minds.
Now I dont know what to do, as I needed to go there in the morning, but will not beable to speak to UA until the morning.

Any Ideas Anyone???

Take Care and Good Luck on the jobs an Castings

xXx

Ragamuffin · 08/08/2006 20:46

Hi everyone.........back from our Girl Talk shoot today. DD loved it!!!!!! Totally girlie with make-up and hair and clothes and accessories.....just up her alley! They did loads of different shots, so there will be several appearances in different mags.....and best of all she did her own Cover Shots. So my baby will be a cover model!

Also great news today is that she has been confirmed for WHSmith Christmas Gift Guide with the shoot on Thursday!

2manypimms.......We can't put the ident onto same disc as that one is finalized in order for you to be able to watch it. However can do you another disc and send that.......just not promising that it will be before our holiday. I have a to do list a mile long and have now lost 2 days to modelling jobs.....not complaining though!

strawbs.......real pity you felt you couldn't afford to go into the model book. Personally I think it is an essential and would never join an agency without inclusion in the book. Also think MOT's photo price is very reasonable......and actual fees then get taken from earnings.

littlemadam......we also had a very quiet patch end May right through June and July.....but has definately picked up again now. My DS is 7 1/2yrs.......but only looks 5 or 6 at a push. We have been to a lot of same castings to you and marymay. DS has all baby teeth still and not even a wiggly one about! Makes him look really young. Am dreading the loss of the teeth. Have to say when DD went through this stage the modelling jobs dried up for quite awhile. Have had a very sparse year to 18 months for her, but is going great now that most teeth (top front especially) are all grown back.

ellesmum · 08/08/2006 20:50

raggamuffin thats great news what a lovely job! and another job with WHsmith you must be so proud.

Ragamuffin · 08/08/2006 21:02

Yummy.....Only advice to give is to Ph Urban Angels first thing in the am and then go and licemce her if they say so. Nothing you can do now!

ellesmum......thanx for that....yes very proud!!

mrratty · 08/08/2006 21:05

Ragamuffin - well done with all the jobs. Which agency are your children with? DD is with B&B and is not in the book but she has still done well, though she hasn't had anything for nearly 2 weeks now.

OP posts:
mrratty · 08/08/2006 21:10

Ragamuffin - it's funny that your quiet patch was our busy patch! Did your son get his first teeth late, DD1 got hers at 11 months and I have been told that means they will lose them late - was this true for you?

OP posts:
YummyMummy21 · 08/08/2006 21:13

Raga> Well done on the jobs. Thats sounds great! The front cover, how cool.
You must both be grinning from ear to ear.
like this

Thanks for the advice I think that is the best thing to do, I have also emailed UA tonight.

I cant help thinking though, if they thought that she was going to get the job then they would have made it a priority to call and let me know.

Never mind we will just have to wait and see.

Mrratty> Im sure that things will pick up soon and enjoy the rest before it does.

Ellesmum> Congrats on the job, when are they shooting?

ellesmum · 08/08/2006 22:05

hi yummymummy, the shoots tomorrow at 3.oopm at the same place as the casting was so will know where im going.

i really hope you sort things out for the job try and phone them as soon as they open to find out, my fingers will b crossed 4 u that u get it.

Ragamuffin · 08/08/2006 22:42

mrratty.......DS got first teeth very late. Was a year old already and running all over the place. He walked at 9 months!! Looked so mad little chap running all over the place with not a tooth in his mouth! Have also been told this is why 2nd teeth are late.......so he does kinda prove the point.

My kids are with MOT and have been just over 1yr.....previously Rascals.....previously Models Direct before that!

Which of your DD's who is with B&B? or are they both? Know you were previously N.Carr......did you move both girls? Know your 5 yr old been very busy with some lovely jobs. What about other daughter.

One thing with B&B if you don't go into book you do at least go on website with the pics you provide........MOT you don't get that exposure if you don't choose to go into book.

mrratty · 09/08/2006 08:33

Raggamuffin - I just have one with B&B. My youngest is 2 and they told me to submit her picture when she is 3. Thye were both with NC and I could have renewed both of their contracts but decided against it. ES would have taken them both on but I decided to just join the older one to B&B. The youger was offered an interview with Cheeky Kidz but I decided against it. They also have different looks. The older one has light brown/auburn/dark blonde hair (changes with the light and gets lighter in the summer), pale skin with freckles and green eyes, which is more unusal than the blonde hair blue eyes and the skin that tans that the youger one has.
My 5 year old was talking at 9 months, walking at 10 and had no teeth untill 11 months - she did look odd!!!!

OP posts:
ellesmum · 09/08/2006 10:39

morning everyone, just got my post and B&B have sent my pictures back to me as i emailed them on tues saying i was going to stay with kids london.
sure ive done the right thing as kids got my daughter a job within 2 weeks!

the photo shoots today im really excited!
do u think it would be ok to ask where her pictures will appear and maybe ask for copies? or not? what do u all do when your LOs get photographic work? do u get momentos of them?

littlemadam · 09/08/2006 11:50

Good luck with the shoot!!! Will look out for her, is it in their brochure?

Ragamuffin, DS got first teeth when over a year old too. This wobbling started last week, the usual apple culprit...he is 6.5. Never mind, they've got to come out, I'm surprised I feel quite sad, as if he's not my baby boy anymore!! Let me know if we have any more castings in common, did you go to co-op?? Well jone on your jobs!

Good luck to all on any new castings!!

ellesmum · 09/08/2006 12:02

dont know where the pictures are going to be yet kids said it would b on their website but will find out more later.

dylansluckymum · 09/08/2006 13:27

hi all just joined mumsnet after getting loads of great info from your threads on modelling. my ds is 16 weeks and was just taken on by bruce and brown. he'd been accepted by a few others - nc es la, but your talks helped me pick b&b. we live in north london and are getting a bit of cabin fever so wanted to do something to get us out of the house! you've made me feel really positive about the decision to get dylan into modelling so... thanks!

educatingrita · 09/08/2006 13:34

Ahh good luck Dylan!!
Hope he gets some nice castings soon. Do tell us all about them when you do!

Well done for getting into B+B

Ragamuffin · 09/08/2006 13:41

littlemadam......Thanx for the wishes for tomorrow's shoot. It is for the WHSmith Christmas Gift Guide. Looking forward to it. No we didn't do the Co-op, but couldn't have done the shoot so that's why probably not put forward. We did do M&S though. Will shout if at castings together again.

mrratty......probably a wise move to just hold out for a place for dd2 at B&B. With dd1 doing so well with them, it probably improves your chances of getting other dd in there!

ellesmum.......how did your shoot go? Any news on where pics will be?

Yummy.....did you call UA? Hope that you are still on hold for C&G.

lindac · 09/08/2006 16:35
