Why Zombie is Zombie - the backstory

Zombie is periodically asked what her backstory is and why she speaks in the third person. Bits of the story are scattered around various parts of the site (as are a few of her limbs). The story is fairly long and a bit complicated. She's therefore putting this thread here so she can simply refer people to it rather than trying to tell it all again.

She has found 2 posts that between them tell pretty much the whole story.

The first one is her initial reply on a Zombie appreciation thread started by slatternlymother in September 2012. The second one is the OP of a thread Zombie started in September 2013 which brings the story pretty much up to date.

David, Zombie thinks you have a vivid imagination. She did know a couple of Robert Kennedy's children. The most eccentric person she ever knew was Anastasia (Anna Anderson).

Thanks for posting this, makes me see that Zombie is actually a real person (obviously, but you know what I mean) and now I understand why you post the way you do.

I was sorry to miss meeting Zombie at the London meet up at the end of November. I couldn't make it, which was such a shame as I was looking forward to seeing the MNers I had met previously - plus loads of new (to me in RL) MNers.

I have, however, seen a photo of Zombie's legs (I think) and a lovely pair of pins they are too Xmas Grin

We have had brief chats on a few threads though! All the best for the New Year, Zombie.

If this Cat had known Zombie was going to be at the London meet up she would have made sure she was there Xmas Grin

We are of a similar age Zombie and I have loved reading your posts over the last few years - my "d"h of 24 yrs ran off with his new soulmate 3 yrs ago and I discovered MN just a few months post divorce would have been a different story financially if I'd found it earlier but never mind

Life is good and MN is a very welcome distraction Xmas Wink

I luffs Zombie too.

In fact I still have one of her hands that she gave me to hold when dp was diagnosed with cancer. It whiffs a bit but still gives me a reassuring squeeze when needed.
