yes, me too

I would line up my Persil and assorted cleaning bits with my maiden (or whatever southerners call it) and ironing board.........

SoupDragon · 29/06/2006 15:40

I have one of those as well as an orchard.

Piffle · 29/06/2006 15:41

I have an enormous house, no effing utility room
I'm going to apportion 1/4 of our double garage to house my washer....
Or should I move to smaller house with one already in it
That would mean leaving my orchard though....

welshmum · 29/06/2006 15:41

I would wash things with soil on in a different sink....sigh

When I get mine, I will have a wellie rack in there.

What is a maiden? Whatever it is I want one too.

meowmix · 29/06/2006 15:43

i have a utility cupboard. does that count?

Northerner · 29/06/2006 15:43

PMSL at this.

I have no utility room either. We have to suffer hearing my washer spin from the kitchen, drowns out conversation.

Am off to garden centre soon though, so I will at least ahve Quincy in my garden.

ShowOfHands · 29/06/2006 15:44

I have a balcony

welshmum · 29/06/2006 15:44

I think a maiden is a horse

I have a crappy terrace with a crappy yard, I don't have an orchard crappy or otherwise BUT I do have a utility room

sugarfree · 29/06/2006 15:46

I have a utility cupboard too,but it is like a Tardis as it contains the washer, the dryer, the ironing board etc etc.
I will be going very upmarket shortly as I've just ordered an 'over the door ironing station' no less, from Betterware.
Smell me!

dizzydo · 29/06/2006 15:46

what's a "maiden" oliveoil?

cupcakes · 29/06/2006 15:46

I would wash knickers with pooh on in a separate sink.

Bozza · 29/06/2006 15:46

Not sure quince will grow in Harrogate northerner - it is a softy southerner plant.

I have a utility room. It is sh*te. None of this seperate sink malarky. It has room for washing machine, freezer (sacked tumble dryer to garage) and one small cupboard. With length of worktop above. Above this I have managed to squeeze two shelves with 4 baskets on each and a drying rack. But there is no floor space to move in.

bakedpotato · 29/06/2006 15:47

A horse?
Surely that goes in the paddock.
Do you have a paddock? Oooh, etc.

Northerner · 29/06/2006 15:47

Think a maiden is summat you hang from the rafters and you can drape your laundry over it.

cupcakes · 29/06/2006 15:47

is the maiden one of those hanging racks with a girl's name?

Ledodgyherring · 29/06/2006 15:47

I have a crappy maiden in my yard atm with my crappy washing on. The maiden is really crappy though as one of the blue things on the bottom has fallen off and it keeps blowing over.

Northerner · 29/06/2006 15:48

WTf are rafters? Where did that word come from. Who has rafters?

sugarfree · 29/06/2006 15:48

Cupcake,I really think you'll regret washing your knickers with poo.Persil is much better.

meowmix · 29/06/2006 15:49

I have utility cupboard envy at sugarfree's tardis now. but i won't be smelling her, thanks all the same.
