Mine was a September wedding so I went for an autumn theme. My colours were cream and gold, I had old gold bridesmaid dresses, golden yellow roses and cream orchids in my bouquet, and the same for the bridesmaid posies and hairslides, and my cake had icing decorations of blackberries, acorns etc. I still love it 10 years on!!!

Ahhh, the sounds beautiful, it's scary how time flies isn't it? I remember saying we should get a vows renewed after 10 years, now it's here we are too busy with littlies and too skint to bother!! Maybe we'll do it at 20 years!! Smile

I got married in February 2004 (on a glorious day!) and the colours were gold and Ivory and my flowers were ivory/yellow/lots of green. Men in wedding party were in kilts and we had photos taken on the beach. Cake was homemade and wedding was fairly small and quite 'country' which suits us well! Smile

Back in 1836 when I got married we didn't have themes.Wink

kipper22 · 19/06/2006 17:46

i got married in august 2004 - worried everyone by insisting on ivory and bright orange! turned out to be perfect though - one of the few gogeous sunny days of that weekend and my little bridesmaids looked perfect!

I had a christmas wedding (20th dec) and had red and gold. i was in white with a red wrap and gold tiara, my bridesmaid had red dress and wrap and gold shoes and tiara. I had plain white roses in my bouquet and my bridesmaid had red and white carnations.

My best mate got married on friday and she had lilac and silver theme. She looked stunning in a white strapless dress with beaded details on the bust and hem, and her bridesmaids wore lilac bodice and skirt outfits with little lilac flowers in their hair. Their bouquets were white roses and lilys. FAB overall look.

October 17th - actually wanted Halloween but the place was already booked for a conference on Methodist ministers...Grin

I had cream, tan, peach flowers with ears of wheat. I had an ivory dress and my bridesmaid has a print dress with a tiny dark green, tan and cream print. We decorated the church and the reception with michaelmas daisies and chrysanthemums, ivy and tiny windfall apples all over the place. All home-grown by my lovely mum. It was totally gorgeous.

The weather was beautiful - bright blue sky and sun all day. Better than my brothers in July the same year.....

Blue was the colour scheme at my wedding.

LOOBYLOU2 · 19/06/2006 21:20

My first wedding had a theme much like yours Bomper, it was in Sept too. Cake was very OTT with gold cherubs, red and purple roses and berries. Second time round was in Siena, Tuscany
no theme, just very romaaantic and a bunch of flowers picked up from a florist!

Cod · 19/06/2006 21:21

IMO themes and colours are merely somehign for all the guests to take the piss out of when you arent listening
