Mine was a September wedding so I went for an autumn theme. My colours were cream and gold, I had old gold bridesmaid dresses, golden yellow roses and cream orchids in my bouquet, and the same for the bridesmaid posies and hairslides, and my cake had icing decorations of blackberries, acorns etc. I still love it 10 years on!!!

I want blue and cream. There is lots of crap you can get for weddings now, v.ott.

Arabica · 20/06/2006 12:05

Got married Friday 13th...wore black! Honest. We're still married 15 years later so it didn't do any harm.

NomDePlume · 20/06/2006 12:06

lol @ arabica

Arabica · 20/06/2006 12:12

...mind you the reception was a bit of a disaster, my friend clocked her bf on the head with a wine bottle for snoogging another woman, police called, ambulance etc, and I spent my first night of married life waiting at A&E for head-injured man to recover so I could get him home safely as nobody else knew where he lived!

Arabica · 20/06/2006 12:12

snogging

Not had it yet so hope i'm not tempting fate but we are having Ivory & Lemon. DP's suit is charcoal grey with ivory, my dress is ivory with metalicy embroidery, Bridesmaids are ivory, flowers are lemon roses and white cala lillies, inside marquee is white and lemon.

I was a March this year bride to my childhood sweetheart (after a twentysomething year gap). We had a 'let's not tell anyone' wedding, so it was us and our children. We married in the local registry office then went quadbiking followed by dinner at our favourite italian then we took them on our honeymoon to Centre Parcs for a week then dh and I went off to Paris, bliss!

Ivory and red, lots of roses and rose petals on the tables. I made my own cake which had fresh flowers on the top (more roses).
We got maried in october in a reg office, i did'nt have any bridesmaids and we only had 20 guests.

Marne · 20/06/2006 12:42

I have seen a alot of weird weddings (when i was a chef), one of the weddings evryone wore rugby shirts, another one was a goth wedding (lots of black and red and ive seen some horrid wedding dresses.

This making me all nostalgic....

We're going to a wedding next month which is a hand-fasting in a field in the middle of Somerset. And yes I beleive they are jumping over a broom. There are going to be loads of stuff for the kids - fire-eaters, face-painting, jugglers etc. DH are going to be the witnesses at the reg office the day before but the real party is the day after. I loved our traditional day and have many happy memories but if I/we did it again I'd do the biiiiig party in a field thing I think. So many of our friends have kids now and I'd like them to really enjoy it..let's face it sitting around for ages whilst grown-ups give speeches and get pis*ed on champagne isn't really a child's idea of fun.

LOOBYLOU2 · 20/06/2006 13:51

totally agree Joallie
Our wedding in Italy was totally relaxed and fab
Drinks in the piazza, walked down to the Palazzo Publico to get married, gorgeous meal that evening in restaurant.
Our closest friends, Mums, Dad and sisters.

Have put some pics online - they were just taken by a friend cos we did it on the cheap! My dress was £130!!! The car was a favour returned, we got free music, only fed 24 for a sit down meal and my aunty did a buffet for the evening! here

schneebly · 21/06/2006 10:47

for those of you who did baulk at the idea of orange - this is a link to my photos .

Bumblelion · 21/06/2006 11:24

Beaufitul colour theme - I would never have thought of orange as a "wedding" colour but stunning photos.

Personally I had peach and cream (but it was 15 years ago!!!). Wouldn't have it now.

schneebly · 21/06/2006 11:32

wow kipper - love your photos! The orange does look good! I love your dress too.
