strawberrymilkshake · 13/06/2006 16:32

Julie >> dd is not on the site yet has not had photos done. I think Carole gets a photographer of there own to do the photos im not sure when they are going to be done.

strawberrymilkshake · 13/06/2006 16:34

Julie>> I have not subscribed to spotlight theres loads on there books so im happy with the way it is also cs is sole rep so i dont know how that would work, we went to spotlight for an audition though.

julie4travel · 13/06/2006 16:55

Straw- carole is happy for people to be on spotlight with them as the contact agent, she gave me an application form etc at his assesment

strawberrymilkshake · 13/06/2006 17:16

I never knew that, how much is it to join the spotlight did Carole say that she thought it was worthwhile doing or did she say they have alot on there books.

julie4travel · 13/06/2006 18:22

Strawb- think she said its about 70 pounds for a years subscription, she said its worth doing. Not sure how many subscribe to it or find it any use?

Does anyone else use Spotlight website? Do you get any work from it?

julie4travel · 13/06/2006 21:02

Strawb- you are referring to the same spotlight aren't you? www.spotlight.com

I didn't know they did auditions

strawberrymilkshake · 14/06/2006 09:47

Hi everyone

Julie >> it wasnt an audition for spotlight, it was for the job dd did for cartoon voice over the audition was at spotlight in Lester square above the prince charles hotel it was not for her to join spotlight. Maybe i should think about putting her on there then what would you advise.

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 10:03

Strawb- Morning

I am not sure, its a bit of money to fork out. I just don't know if it will be worth it or not. I would like to know if anyone else has used it, may put a message on Child modelling.net to see if any feedback on that one as no answers on here.

The thread is so long that I can't keep up!

DS had a shoot for John Lewis yesterday and midway through stepped off the box he had been standing on for the photos and fell, gashing the bit right next to his eyebrow. Cue a trip in an ambulance to hospital and "superglue" to mend the cut. Blood everywhere! The photographer was great and held DS while I frantically ran around with everyone else gathering towels to staunch the flow of blood.

The Agency was quite concerned about DS and I think they were worried that I might sue. Technically I could but I won't.

All in all, NOT a good day. :(

DS is back to his old self and tormenting his sister this morning - I predict a rapid recovery! Worried about the scar though. :(

strawberrymilkshake · 14/06/2006 11:03

Julie>> Really bizarre i have just phoned carole to ask her and the postman arrived at sametime with letter from her with forms for spotlight and our photoshoot for photos for cs website. She said she definatley advises me to put dd on spotlight web so am going to have to seriously think about this. I have just been on not apushy mum website to get information about spotlight and it sounds promising.

strawberrymilkshake · 14/06/2006 11:06

2 many pimms > your poor little ds hope his ok you must of been so frightened. Im glad they were good to you.

mykidsmum · 14/06/2006 11:14

2 MANY PIMMS THAT MUST HAVE BEEN REALLY AWFUL FOR YOU AND DS, sorry didn't realise caps were on. Glad he is back to normal today!

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 11:24

Strawb- That is bizaar! I will look on that site in a moment, noone replied on CM net as of yet. Are you doing the CS photoshoot aswell? Seems a reasonable price compared to some.

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 11:27

2many pimms- Sorry to hear about your little one, although I would say you are lucky it has been glued and not stitched then it would scar. Glad the little one is recovering. I am worried people will start thinking I am a daughter basher as she is soo clumsy (to say the least) bruises on elbows, knees etc . I am hoping when she starts ballet in Sept that she won't be as bad. I think her legs are faster than her body sometimes!

izzyrubi · 14/06/2006 11:41

Pimms >> Sorry to hear about ds, I would've freaked out, it's awful seeing our lo's in pain... hope everything is fine Smile

mrratty · 14/06/2006 11:49

my older daughter has been doing ballet since she was 2, her knees are the worse, just covered in grazes!

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 11:54

mrratty - no chance for my clumsy daughter then! great!

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 11:57

strawb- what area on not a pushy mum did you find the info on spotlight (blonde moment i think for me as i can't find it)

Did you say your little one has had work even though he isn't on their site as of yet? how long have you been with them again?

perfumelady · 14/06/2006 12:59

strawberry and julie4travel, spotlight is a casting directory, it is used by all the top bods in the indusrty(casting directors etc) i have heard that some refer to it as there bible!!! when looking for characters in there films,tv dramas, commercials etc they go on to spotlight and search like girl, blonde hair, blue eyes, age 9 etc and all those that are listed that match the search come up and then if they like the look they get in contact with agency, so it does give you much more of a chance to be spotted by the people that matter. there are loads of people listed. not every one has the opportunty to be put on spotlight you have to be with certain agencies and obvuiously cs being one of them.i think the fee is a yearly charge so maybe you could try it for a year and if you get lots of leads maybe then you will know weither or not to renew it the following year. i think they have a dead line so if you miss it you can not go on til the following year.
