tigeryuan, mykids, good luck for mothercare :)
we haven't heard back so it's def a no.

mykids, you do sound so excited about your campervan :) i know what you mean about being so excited you have a belly ache .. i'm off on a hen do hols next week and i feel like that!
Trouble is, took dd2 on M&S casting the other day and she's been optioned for 2 days next week, but if she gets it dh has said he'll take her.

perfumelady · 03/06/2006 12:38

hi thanks for all your directions to parsons green, found it fine didn't realise it was just around the corner from the urban angels office. dd had a great afternoon we were there for nearly four hours there were four kids at the morning shoot from u/a and three kids inc' dd at the afternoon shoot from u/a everything was shot with a white back ground and all the kids were wearing really bright clashing colours which looked fab against the white. dd will be in the august issue

perfumelady · 03/06/2006 13:19

mysonsmummy just realised i didn't reply to your post my dd is 8 and yes u/a are a great agency really friendly and i beleive that they know all of the kids on there books which is a lovely personal touch we have been so impressed with them they are such a highly respected agency within the industry and one thing you notice is they get more and more jobs as the months go by, i'm sure your be posting soon about your lo's 1st job or casting, how old is he or she?

sorry i don't know how many there are on the books

mysonsmummy · 04/06/2006 23:34

just got back from butlinns - had fantastic time - would never go pontons or haven again!

perfume : ds is 4. what does the lady look like who owns it - we met and older lady at our interview? then a younger sounding girl alysia rang to offer contract - bit confused? thanks. the agency we are with e-mailed us back to say your not losing nothig by keeping him with us - err. actually would like to maybe get a casting or to really lol~

julie4travel · 05/06/2006 09:40

Morning all- well at least half term is now over. It was nice to send the kids back this morning to pre school and school.

We had two of our appointments last week. So just some feedback. Firstly Norrie Carr. The lady seemed pleasant etc. I didn't actually realise they do more tv work than photographic. I personally thought it would be 50/50. My son I think was showing off, I was actually cringing. He went in and the lady said sit down and relax and he sat and put his feet up- can you believe it! Then she said can you use your imagination to recreat this scene and he started going on that he had a good imagination and he was thinking about a monster and a ghost etc. I could only really sit back and was thinking he has blown this. Then at the end she said she likes red haired children to have a bit of personality and she is happy to offer him a place. Well that was a shock!
We had a little word with him before the next appointment at CS Management and said enjoy yourself yet not naughty and we had a quietened down version. to tell you the truth I personally think he was like that in the first one as my husband was there aswell. I think he behaves better when he is just with me. His one job last year he was perfect and i couldn't have asked for a better behaved child. Well like everyone has previously mentioned Carole at CS is lovely and both myself and my hubbie took to her. She seems to know what she is doing and gets work for the children. We would like to go with her yet that means we can't do the Norrie Carr and need to look at another agency purely for the modelling side of things.
Both of my kids have the Truly Scrumptious appointment on Sat so we shall see what they can offer.

Word of advise for anyone going for an appointment at Holburn studios, get a taxi from the Angel station as my son was moaning about the walking straight away plus we went the road way instead of the walk by the river. Although we did arrive early and had a drink in the cafe next to the canal.

We had a nice time down in London as made the most of it and did the Tower of London and a rivercruise etc so my son had a lovely time. At least we got the acceptances from the agents that we wanted anyway so now its just decision time!

perfumelady · 05/06/2006 11:05

julie4travel glad it all went so well did cs tell you there and then as well?

mysonsmummy alysia is the owner and the older lady you met is jenny i think her title is a booker. you could get either of them phoning you up where jobs and castings are concerned.

julie4travel · 05/06/2006 11:15

Hi perfumelady - Yes Carole said yes there and then and she will pop some information etc in the post. With them they do not charge aswell which has big advantages over Norrie Carr! Bit of a dilema I suppose.

tenalady · 05/06/2006 11:22

Hi there Julie 4 travel. Thats an interesting point about red hair. My ds did modelling with rascals a couple of years ago, couldnt stand the agency so disorganised and didnt bother any more. I had heard that red hair is pretty rare in the modelling world and some agencies are actively looking for kids with red hair. Perhaps I should give it another blast put a few bob in his coffer.

tenalady · 05/06/2006 11:26

Do all these agencies still charge you for using your children?

2ManyPimms · 05/06/2006 11:30

Hello all! Hope everyone survived and enjoyed the hols last week!

Julie4 - We went around by the road once before I found the walk by the canal - what a difference it made when I allowed DS to take his scooter to trundle along on! I hate having a long walk anywhere prior to a casting or job - it can put DS off in a major way! Although it is a pain to carry the scooter AND DD AND buggy up the tube station stairs, I plan on bringing it in the future. Good luck with finding the right sort of agency!

ScarlettsMummy - Glad you are with us! We are with B&B and can't fault them! Great group of women running it!

Good luck everyone with your castings and jobs! Must dash off and clean up the disaster which is my home after a return from holiday! Yuck.

izzyrubi · 05/06/2006 11:41

Hi everyone, just starting to get back to normal life, I had my beautiful baby boy on the 02/06 Smile he's gorgeous and really big (9lbs 2oz)and we're all doing well, dd is having a lot of fun with him so far which is good!
Nothing on the modelling front as far as I know but I thought I should come and see how you guys are getting on!

Tiger >> Really glad about mothercare job, well done!!
Julie >> Glad to hear about NC and CS Smile

tenalady · 05/06/2006 11:52

Ahh, a boy well done Smile

julie4travel · 05/06/2006 11:54

Izzi- Congratulations! What a big boy, you must be very pleased (and tired)

Tenalady- The tv casting agencies don't charge like Cs Management or AJ etc and you can use professional photos if you have some already (so no cost to you). Norrie Carr and other agencies do charge. They charge for the initial appointment (if accepted) which was 20 pounds with them and the first photoshoot fee if i remember rightly (without getting my paperwork out) is about £135 pounds

Some agents don't charge though. There is a website called www.childmodelling.net which has info on agencies etc and costs etc. Unfortuatly I didn't manage to get a no charge agent yet I don't mind paying the fee out if I get the money back from jobs etc. My son was with Scallywags last year and only had one job in a year so basically paid his initial photoshoot fee.

I didn't realise how rare red haired models are so def worth a try , good luck to you. Rascals wanted to see both my kids actually yet I haven't made an appointment with them. Sounds like you weren't overly impressed then!

2 Many pimms - sounds like you had a harder walk than me dragging my five year old. Thank god I didn't take my daughter too.

Forgot to say my hubbie not impressed their appointment on Sat with Truly Scrumptious is when the World Cup game is on. We will be driving down there when it starts! Hope he don't divorce me for arranging it! ha ha!

tenalady · 05/06/2006 11:57

thanks for that information. very helpful Smile

yackertyyack · 05/06/2006 12:26

Cyan, Well done and Good Luck for ds job tmrrw .Do you mind me asking what kind of job?

tinkerbellchelle · 05/06/2006 13:09

Cyan > how did you get on doing the almay thing?

Izzy > Congrats!!!!! xx

cyan · 05/06/2006 13:20

hey tink!!! the almay day was a bit of a nightmare tbh!!! we were put in bromley which is miles away from where we live! we left with ample time to get there but ended up being an hour late. i rang the store to let them know and they then told the merchandiser that we had rung the previous day to say we werent coming? which was an absolute lie. when we arrived we apologised told the lady we had rung and she called revlon/almay to let them know we ha arrived. we only managed 4 makeovers between us, as the people of bromley seemed offended that we were offering them a makeover!!! v strange!! we sold about 18 products though, i think we were put in on a bad day as it wasnt that busy whereas had it been a sat we may have done alot better!!! how did you get on my love?

cyan · 05/06/2006 13:22

hey thorntons, the job is for a book, not sure what we have to do but we have to take plain clothes with us, but i dont have anything plain and without logos on!!! might have to pop out to primark or tescos and get a couple of things this afternoon!!!

lanismum · 05/06/2006 13:35
