pefumelady- thanks for the info, are you with them? sounds a good deal then if you can only be on with certain agents on it, Worth a try then!

Scarlettsmummy · 14/06/2006 14:38

2manypimms> that is awful what happened to your little one! I went for my appt today for my daughter and mentioned it and asked what would happen in that situation. They told me that the children must be licenced and the client has to have liability insurance which covers that. The agency would normally make a claim against the client on the child's behalf as they are their agent. All agencies have on their disclaimer that the children must be covered by the clients insurance, which they must have when dealing with the public. You should be entitled to some form of compensation for that?

strawberrymilkshake> so is cs management more tv work? if so then that seems like a good idea to be with one agency for photographic and one for the tv side. My daughter attends italia conti associate school and loves drama. Do you have their contact details please?

Everyone else> wheres all the lovely weather gone Sad

x

Scarlettsmummy - was yout appointment with B&B? Have you decided who to go with?

julie4travel · 14/06/2006 14:50

Scarletmummy- CS managements website is www.csmanagementuk.com

carole used to work for AJ Management and started up her own company about 5 years ago. She has good contacts in the industry and you don't have to pay fees like modelling agencys apart from if you want a photoshoot. Also if you choose to go with Spotlight their fees are about £70 for a year. She doesn't mind that. Basically she wants sole rep in TV work and you can have seperate modelling agency. No harm in trying. She also does her own drama school I think on Sats. Her students do have the same opportunities to people who do not attend the schol, there is no preferrential treatment etc.

2ManyPimms · 14/06/2006 15:15

Scarlettsmummy - I thought briefly about compensation then I decided that it was just one of those freak accidents that children have. Perhaps if his injury were caused by a falling light I might pursue a claim. It really was just the way he decided to leap from the box (all of 6 inches high) and onto the floor.

If they wanted to compensate DS for his injury, I wouldn't mind if they did so in John Lewis vouchers - he has been complaining about his wardrobe recently! :o

Who was your meeting with today?

mythumbelinas · 14/06/2006 16:14

pimms, that was unfortunate :(
i think i have now spotted your ds in the BB indent tho .. but he was playing the guitar?!?

sha11 · 14/06/2006 16:19

2manypimms - sorry to hear about ds fall, how old is he, I dont think it was not their fault, if i remeber correctly hes under 2 isn't he? so then heshould not be asked to stand on any height box! lucky they were nice, remember when the ironing board fell on Cyans ds they didn't take much notice! hope you get £1000 in JL vouchers SmileSmile

izzyrubi · 14/06/2006 19:17

Cyan >> Fantastic, I'll e-mail you later!

I have decided to try and apply for Oliver to join an agency, my friend who works in the industry has persuaded me to do so... I'm sitting at home doing nothing so I thought I should give it a try! We'll see which agencies will accept him...

strawberrymilkshake · 14/06/2006 19:21

izzy >> that sounds like a really good idea. What agencies do you think you will try him with, ah how cute a tiny little baby, modelling agencies should snap him up.

izzyrubi · 14/06/2006 21:44

strawberry >> applying at Bruce & Brown, MOT, Kids London, Bubblegum and Alphabet Kidz... not sure who will accept him but we'll see, fingers crossed!

Scarlettsmummy · 15/06/2006 00:24

it was with bruce and brown. Been offered a place with them but still waiting a bit from 2 other agencies. Will let you know how we go.

2manypims> i would spend the vouchers on a raincoat and umbrella if you do get vouchers. Or even a nice electric blanket. Are we just not the only country in the world that can have all 4 seasons in one bloody day!!!

strawberry> thanks for the info, I will have a lookie

izzyrubi · 15/06/2006 09:57

scarletsmummy does italia conti not have an agency? i thought that they did and you could only be with that agency if you go to the school. i'm sure i heard that italia conti get loads of high profile films like harry potter etc but maybe i'm wrong, worth finding out though.

strawberry, dd has had so many auditions lately that involve learning songs, script pieces etc that i have not got round to phoning carole, i hope i haven't left it to long. dd has two auditions on sunday, when i get those out the way i will give her a call and see if we can still go to see her, fingers crossed.

perfumelady · 15/06/2006 13:19

calling napm users have you been able to get onto the site today or is it just me?

julie4travel · 15/06/2006 15:10

Perfumelady- i managed to get in twice today so keep trying

Strawb- still haven't had forms from Cs, carole has emailed them to 3 address's now of mine and I haven't received them or a hard copy! Are yours ones that can be scanned to email (if you have a scanner?) I have the spotlight one its just the CS one I haven't got or photoshoot info

izzyrubi · 15/06/2006 15:12

perfumelady >> I can access the website but get an error for the forum!

Scarlettsmummy · 15/06/2006 15:16

hi perfume lady

she is only at the associate school. Italia Conti have them all over the UK at the weekends. The agency is for the main school in the Barbican and only some children at the associate schools. She is too young at the moment but she wants to audition to get in at the Barbican when she is old enough. Other kids at the school are with other agencies as they are not contracted or with Italia Conti agency.

thanks for the advice though
