How many of us actually meet Shona's little sidekicks criteria?
She states that all of us on Mumsnet are in our 30s, living in London and have a degree. How many people here meet that criteria?
How many are popping prozac depressed at the shit life we now have with kids?
Damn that woman is nasty!

Brecon, she is a lemonsucking "journalist" who wrote about poor poor Amanda Holden being bullied by MN.

I am in my 40s, have 2 degrees, used to live in the Home Counties but now live in Australia. I hate Boden but am a bit of a lentil weaver (cloth nappies, co-sleeping, bf'ing as long as poss, preference for organic and fromscratch cooking/food)
Happy SAHM with 2 DSs and no pills (apart from vit/min/oil supplements).

Don't give much of a toss what anyone else does so long as it's a) legal and b) doesn't do any actual harm.

Petisa · 12/04/2013 00:09

Hadn't heard of this woman but looked up her articles and her opinions are vile imo. Drugging children, smacking 14 year olds, wtf?

Had to tee hee at this comment under her article: "Hate mumsnet, full of opinionated, superior, breast feeding, communists." Grin

Thumbwitch · 12/04/2013 00:10

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1724574-Does-anyone-else-FLIPPING-despise-this-women - here you are, thread about it. :)

Thumbwitch · 12/04/2013 00:13

Sorry, thread about Shona Sibary - the link is to a different article, not the one about Poor Amanda Holden.

Petisa · 12/04/2013 00:15

Oh, and I am in my 30s, am doing a PhD, but don't live in London, am not depressed, only stressed trying to juggle being a single mum struggling financially and feeling like a PhD failure. Not interested in criticising boring, annoying DM people's parenting choices

I am a bit of a breastfeeding socialist though! Grin

ComposHat · 12/04/2013 00:16

Does she not know that Prozac is soooo 90s! The world of SSRIs moves fast.

All the cool kids (and I assume the Boden clad London mothers of this hack's imagination) are popping Citalopram.

somuchtosortout · 12/04/2013 00:19

Was living in London but recently felt an urge to move to Hull, only to find estate agents over run by leopard-scarfed women with slightly askew haircuts.

JustinesYoniSaysNoniMumsnet · 12/04/2013 00:21

Can't wait for the next Mumsnet census. Reckon Hull will be massively over-represented.

eastereggnog · 12/04/2013 00:31

Sorry, I'm a bit fick, (well not really, 2 degrees and a postcard, hobnob loving, in 30's but not from London), but is this the response from the DM to the heavy criticism it received from MN about the Philpott cover? Because that's what it feels like to me.

mummysbigsmiles · 12/04/2013 00:32

I'm 23 a single mum and live in Glasgow. Complete opposites!

somuchtosortout · 12/04/2013 00:36

Yes, London (but only half British), Yes degree, no ADs, yes in 30s.
Didn't grow up in London, or England for that matter.

HOWEVER
(in seriousness)
Have interacted with so many different people from different walks of life and learnt so much from Mumsnet, that, if anything, it has the potential of bringing any stereotypical middle class Londoner out of her bubble.

Mumsnet has been an eye-opener both in terms of insights in to other people's lives as well as on a more personal level.

It can be a place of comfort, laughs companionship and support and I only wish I'd known about it when I was having a tough time a few years ago.

LadyBeagleEyes · 12/04/2013 00:41

And we really aren't allowed to make bitchy remarks about her looks on here?
Pity.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 12/04/2013 00:46

MN is bluddy marvellous. Smile

WhitegoldWielder · 12/04/2013 00:50

40s
Degree plus other qualifications
Midlands
No hobnobs
Bit of Boden
No Prozac

Love MN

YankNCock · 12/04/2013 00:58

I resent the implication that I iron my kid's clothes.

YankNCock · 12/04/2013 01:01

Oh and...

30s
Degree
Used to live in London
Boden hand me downs for the kids from the friend who introduced me to MN yonks ago (but none for me)
Sertraline

trashcanyoni · 12/04/2013 01:05

and for the record, why should it fucking matter if a mnetter does have a degree, live in north London, take prozac, and blah blah whatever other shite they want to spout... oh yeah, shop at Boden... Fuck the fuck off nob heads

YoniSibary · 12/04/2013 01:09

I was 30s, with a degree, living in London when I first joined here.
Am now out of London but the other two still apply.

Loving motherhood, no Prozac, no hobnobs.

Dryjuice25 · 12/04/2013 03:36

Degree: Check
30's :check
London : Nope
Chn : 3 lovely ones
Prozac : Nope
Hobnobs : Occasionally
Boden : What is that?
Wine : Red once a fortnight!

only just then-

somanymiles · 12/04/2013 05:05

Don't jump on me, but I actually do think she must have felt shocked and sad to have found a thread slagging her off. Not everyone can take the kind of gloves-off honesty (and lets face it sometimes bitchiness) that exists on an anonymous forum.

Unfortunately her article was written as a form of revenge and really she has ended up being hurtful herself.

For the record, 40s, living in Canada but I do have a degree! No prozac and love having children. Have no time can't be bothered to iron children's clothes, or my own for that matter. Oh, but I am a co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding type.

alwayslateforwork · 12/04/2013 05:10

Also 40 something in Canada with a degree or two. Bf and bottle fed (would have bfed them all but dd born with no suck reflex - not sure that fits with her neat little stereotype.)

No Prozac. Or any other meds/ drugs.

Ironing? Wtaf? I have a husband to do that for me!

alwayslateforwork · 12/04/2013 05:10

And they don't sell boden or hobnobs here. I don't think.

I can do a nice line in donuts though?

TheRealMBJ · 12/04/2013 05:29

Who iron's kids clothes? Everyone I know has the sense to spend the time on something more worthwhile

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 12/04/2013 06:44

30s, yes, 2 degrees, live in Germany, no pills :) Also only read the first page and no idea who Shona is - was assuming a hairy handed one til I got to the Daily Fail reference.

OrangeLily · 12/04/2013 06:55

No pills

Younger than 30

Degree

Live in Scotland

Hobnobs are Nice but need dipped in something tea like
