totally, i suppose you have to think about it .. do you get swollen ankles normally? You're not heavily pg yet, so only worry if u feel there might be cause to.
i have a blood condition, it's not serious, but it can be a nuisance .. when i fly long haul my ankles and feet swell so much i can't put my shoes back on!

yackertyyack · 11/05/2006 13:55

must admit my feet and ankles swelled up on this last flight but I was 30 weeks!!! I am sure you will be fine as long as you don't have any family history of DVT but obviously I am not a doctor!!

julie4travel · 11/05/2006 14:01

just realised in my last comment i put i had dvd socks!!!! Sorry blonde moment

mythumbelinas · 11/05/2006 14:06

yackerty, hope you will be okay with the building work and a newborn on the way .. hope they don't delay the work!! You are brave to have two big things going on :)

yackertyyack · 11/05/2006 14:15

Think the word is stark raving mad rather than brave Thumbs!!! Besides the newborn is the reason for the extension!!
Still I am sure it will be lovely and relaxing sitting in the garden in my bikini with my pg belly in front of a team of builders Grin

totallyfloaty35 · 11/05/2006 14:28

Thanks for the info guys[smile}no history of dvt and mw says wear socks and will be ok,but dh trying to upgrade my flight anywayWink

mythumbelinas · 11/05/2006 14:34

hahaha yacks!!!
ahh, was thinking the newborn was the reason for the bulding work Wink how lucky, an extension!! I want one of those!!! Envy

julie4travel · 11/05/2006 14:35

totallyfloaty- some airlines have dedicated special needs departments where you can advise you are pregnant etc. Eg Virgins is a really good one and they will give you a more spacious seat out of the selection even in economy class. Worth a try on the upgrade though. If its too expensive ask on the day as they sometimes offer reduced priced upgrades on the day. I was lucky last year at paying just 199 pounds per person for a one way upgrade to premium economy with Virgin . My return upgrade actually was more than my flight tickets yet made the difference with my bags coming off first and the seperate check in etc, good Luck. Where are you off too anywhere nice?

totallyfloaty35 · 11/05/2006 16:10

Am off to Jamaice julie, very much looking forward to bobbing around in the sea and visiting the spa...oh yea and spending time with familyWink

julie4travel · 11/05/2006 16:52

totally floaty - lovely wish it was me, hope you are going to a beaches or something with a lovely kids club so you can relaxe. we were supposed to go to Beaches Turks and Caicos then we sold our house so all was cancelled and put on hold for the house move. I could do with a holiday yet better check the money situation first as we have spent loads on furnishings etc.

2ManyPimms · 11/05/2006 16:55

Mrratty - DS is 6 and hadn't had anything for a couple of months and then BLAMO...a bunch of stuff. Expect it to be slow now for a while.

Totally - LUCKY YOU!!!! (insert envious face here!)

izzyrubi · 11/05/2006 17:20

hi everyone, you've been busy today, I like that!!! We went to Boots casting today and was fine, there were no other kids there, is that normal? Smile

Totally >> It was AWFUL!!!!! I must be honest, I don't know where on earth I had my mind when I booked the trip, only me would do something like that but look my biggest issue was that I was 29 weeks pregnant and also had Cecilia with, you don't have the second part of the problem so you should be fine... it was very uncomfortable even though we had the better(ish) seats but hey! I survived and the trip was fab so definitely worth it! Don't forget to get one of those travel socks they really help... and try to walk as much as possible...

Mrraty >> welcome! I'm sure your lo will get tons of work through B&B!

mrratty · 11/05/2006 17:52

Thanks izzyrubi I'm on childmodelling as monkeymum and monkeymum1(had trouble signing back in!) and you have been very helpful there!

tinkerbellchelle · 11/05/2006 21:04

yackertyyack · 12/05/2006 08:07

Good to hear from you Tink....hope your little man is feeling better and that your house buying is all going smoothly! Have heard good things about BG agency so I am sure that your little ones big break will come soon!!Grin

izzyrubi · 12/05/2006 08:48

good morning everyone...

tink >> Nice to hear from you, how's the party prep going? hope your ds is well!

tigeryuan · 12/05/2006 08:53

morning all,

i've a question for the dr. letter. The one I applied will be expired this month and BK requires one in order to get the licence.
do you all have one?

yackertyyack · 12/05/2006 09:15

Tiger.....I have a valid drs note to hand as the license applications always seem to be needed at such short notice. I just type a letter, ask my Dr to sign it when I see him and then he charges me £20 for the pleasure!!

tigeryuan · 12/05/2006 09:35

yackertyyack - i think i paid £20 last time too.. quite expensive! consider that he doesn;t have much work.. okay, only one job, but that was with MOT, and not required a dr. note.

yackertyyack · 12/05/2006 09:54

I can never work it out as some jobs seem to need licenses and others don't!!! It is alot of money if you are not going to make use of it. Think they suggest you have a copy to hand as some drs take weeks to get the letter signed!

izzyrubi · 12/05/2006 11:50

we had to pay £40 for the letter when we joined BK and never had any work, now we moved and the new doctor only charged £10 I sent the same letter to AK, CK and IK and kept the original just in case.
If you don't update BK with a letter they will remove Callum from their books... or they will say you have to pay £30 to go back to their books...

tinkerbellchelle · 12/05/2006 12:19

ahh thanks for your replies :) Party planning is all going well... just getting an ice sculpture for the food table sorted. I just hope it turns out ok with all this orgainsing.
House buying is going ok... its just complicated with this gift of deed stuff?? All goes straight over my head! LOL :)

another beautiful day :) I even got a sun tan and strap marks yesterday!! Am well impressed. Catch up with you all again soon
x
