Scusa, I should greet you first. Cioa Annuziata, come va? Grazie for showing me the thread. Will be good to have people to practise on and that I can't see them laughing at me when I pronounce things incorreectly!

Annunziata · 18/10/2012 21:23

Nessun problema! Va bene, grazie! Abitare in italia? Che fortuna!

That might be me going dialect-ally again!

LaFataTurchina · 18/10/2012 21:27

Benvenuta BellaTata!
I thought tata was nanny as well, it's also dialect for auntie in my bit of Italy.

My mum's going to Sicily for a few weeks this November, I'm jealous I haven't been since I was about 12. I wouldn't mind going to Milan either

But really the place I want to go back to in Italy is Gardaland. Has anyone ever been? I love that place Blush Grin

Annunziata · 18/10/2012 21:30

Haha, the DC loved there! Have you been to the waterpark?

The whole lake is lovely too.

Back in the days of dinosaurs you could call your girlfriends 'tata' Blush

BellaTata · 18/10/2012 21:36

Si, io live vicino Milano. Io sono una tata per 3 ragazze. Bellisimo nazione. Getting slightly freddo at notte now, prima giorno con the heating on!

Ciao Bellatata, io abito a Milano!

I have just checked the prices for flights to Catania, as I'd really, really NEED only 3 days of Sicily (I was thinking maybe one day by the seaside, and one day at the Gole dell'Alcantara), but it is too expensive for the 4 of us, I left it too long! Uffa.
Prenoterò per le vacanze di Pasqua.

Francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2012 09:19

Io oggi sono LIBERA, free as a bird.... Until the school run.
I have just baked a cake! Now I should tidy up, but non ho voglia.

alexpolismum · 19/10/2012 09:23

Ciao a tutti!

BellaTata · 19/10/2012 09:24

alexpolismum · 19/10/2012 09:34

How long have you lived there, BellaTata? I have never been to Milan. When I was in Italy, I was in Tuscany (where I picked up a few local words) and then in Sicily. Both lovely places!

Francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2012 09:34

Si, tante parole italiane vengono dal greco antico!

Bellatata, wow you are in a beautiful area. I live in central Milan, which I love. We lived in the Uk for 8 yrs, until 2007. We didn't pick a great time to move back to Italy Grin. Still, I like it, all my friends/family are here.

BellaTata · 19/10/2012 09:37

Tu cant beat Yorkshire te, io sona una yorkshire ragazza myself! I get to go home in Dicembre so io will bring a box back qui. Io think its the zucchero that makes it taste different.

Francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2012 09:37

Tuscany and Sicily are a marvellous part of the world.
I'd like to go to Greece next summer, take the dc to see some ruins, ds will study gli antichi greci this year! I haven't been for ages!

alexpolismum · 19/10/2012 09:37

I know the feeling, Franca, this isn't exactly a great time to be in Greece either!

Where did you live in the UK? I haven't been back for about 4 years now.
