Just wondering as many people I see claim to have been, is it that widespread?

I wish someone had actually read my posts - they were so innocuous as to make Chris' attacks hilarious if I wasn't actually quite upset.

If I remember rightly, someone on that now-vanished thread today (can't remember who) said (words to the effect) 'A troll has been posting on this thread to keep an eye on what's being said.' Then 2 or 3 people posted wondering if they were the suspected troll. Macaroona was one of them - I thought at the time she meant it in a jokey way; the thread did have its lighter moments too.

So when she then posted here, 'I was called a troll about 2 hours ago for not agreeing with a vociferous poster and refusing to engage ', what on earth was wrong with that?

And, like Pinot, I don't remember anyone laughing at Macaroona on that thread either.

I agree lissie, I have friends who are mumsnetters, friends who have helped me out in some of my darkest hours. I have given advice, posted baby clothes, donated money and worried about posters. To then read on twitter that I was outed as a troll years ago was on the one hand surreal but on the other hand to think that while I have been doing that everyone else was thinking that I was rather coldy telling fairytales and encouraging people to share things with me for my own amusement was quite hurtful.
