I want to live in Leamington Spa

I live 30 minutes away and I just really like Leamington Spa. It's pricey though. I used to work there right on top of the parade on Clarendon St/Rd? and it's got a really nice town center with plenty of shopping and the big three level georgian houses are fantastic.

anyone live near/in Leamington?

I thought you wanted to live back in Canada?

Can't say I know Leamington Spa, but it sounds nice.

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 11:55

well... that too. i'm confused. I mean, if I was staying in the UK, I would like to live in Leamington Spa.

Can't sell the stupid house so I can't see me moving anywhere!

Hmm. Leamington Spa is closer. And no pesky immigration papers for your spouse involved.

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 11:59

true. costs 10x as much though!

Oooo, that is quite nice. Like Bath. I wouldn't mind living in Bath.

Me likes it!

zippitippitoes · 11/11/2005 12:04

it's pricey, not dafferns?

zippitippitoes · 11/11/2005 12:04

not dafferns then..

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:07

dafferns? huh?

i grew up in warwick (virtually attached to Leamington). left at 18 and haven't been back. now live just outside bath and have to say that IMO there is nothing similar between Bath and Leamington save a few buildings. The people are IME very different.
Having said that, the shopping is reasonable in Leamington and there are some good schools. Warwick is good for history and there are some nice walks. I think I'm scarred from small minded school 'friends', that I'm unsurprisingly no longer in touch with......

googled dafferns. A Chartered Accountants. No. I'm Chartered but I'm a Corp Accountant. I worked as a Financial Accountant at Lunn Poly Head office for about 6 months. It was boring but the town was great.

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:18

What's wrong with where you live now, DC?

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:19

bored. I live in Rugby, Warks. I was just saying that Leamington is just so nice but alas, it's quite exclusive.

OP posts:
Avalon · 11/11/2005 12:20

But Rugby has so much going for it.

zippitippitoes · 11/11/2005 12:20

I csn't think of a good reason to pay so much to live in leamington

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:21

yes. i especially enjoy the view of the cement works spewing crud across the horizon.

could be worse though. i don't really mind Rugby but it's time to go somewhere nicer.

Avalon · 11/11/2005 12:26

Can you see it from your house, then, DC?

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:27

kind of. it's huge. i mean Huuuuuggge. I can just see the top of it from my upstairs back window. It was the biggest construction project in europe a few years ago when they expanded it and put up the new stack.

hmmm... I could just pretend I'm interested in your house NDP just to have a poke around on the viewing!

OP posts:
Avalon · 11/11/2005 12:29

I can see it from my house too. Luckily there's a massive tree that screens it. Mostly.

DaddyCool · 11/11/2005 12:29

poke around
