Anyone else drowning under a sea of washing due to awful weather?

Tumble dryer is stuffed at back of garage that is full to brim so until dh gets his act together and gets it out I have to rely on radiators, racks and the odd spell of dry weather.

I am literally drowning with washing. Anyone else like me this week?

Oh no BH, make dh get it out now.

I am having a good washing week for a change.

Finbar · 03/11/2005 18:33

at least you have a tumble dryer!!
I am regularly mocked by a certain COd for not having one ( though I must admit I did have to borrow hers on one occasion!)

starlover · 03/11/2005 18:34

lol no
we have no tumble drier, no radiators and we live in a flat so no garden!

it's like it for us all the time!

yes I'm too frightened to open the washing maching because the washing has been in there for around 4 days (can imagine the smell and the mould from the damp!) whilst the pile of dirty clothes has built a wall around it. Sigh.

mrsflowerpot · 03/11/2005 18:38

me too. am going to resort to service wash at launderette to get all this week's bedding done.

Blossomhowl · 03/11/2005 18:39

That's the thing as well. Washing starts to smell as it's taking too long to dry.

I love my tumble dryer

iota · 03/11/2005 18:54

for KS

Vented tumble dryers - work by expelling the hot, damp air from your wash through a hose that can be fixed to a permanent vent in an outside wall or simply hung out of a window during operation.
Make sure you choose a machine with its vent in the right position for you and your kitchen. Some models have multiple outlets but others are located at the front, rear or side of the dryer.

Condenser tumble dryers - do not need venting though an outside wall and are therefore often better for those where space is a concern. This type of dryer works by turning steam created by drying clothes into moisture which is then collected in a water reservoir that can be removed and emptied when necessary.

Foxinsocks, stick some more softener in and put it on a rinse cycle No need to open the door. Not that I've done this before of course

screwyslittlefirecrackers · 03/11/2005 18:57

Most definately....for some strange reason that seems a good idea I've decided to take my boys out of nappies on a night and am endeing up with mountains of washing.

On the up side I've made a new friend at the laundrette....were take all wet things to get dried...its brilliant only takes half an hour to dry three loads of washing and costs about 1.50. It normally takes me 10 mins hanging out one load on the line

LIZS · 03/11/2005 19:01

me too. Considering swapping freezer for tumble drier in garage. We even have an under cover washing line but even that is useless in this weather.

winnie · 03/11/2005 19:03

I am drowning under a sea of washing because washing machine died a death a week ago and one isn't being delivered until Sat...

foxinsocks · 03/11/2005 19:30

thanks soupy, will do that!

hunkermunker · 03/11/2005 19:35

Soupy, good tip (not that I'll ever need to do that, obv, since I'm a domestic goddess )!

Bozza · 03/11/2005 19:36

I don't even know where the nearest launderette is.
