AM. How terrifying, so glad it wasn't worse though!

jellyjelly · 25/10/2005 20:17

I done a fire safety course a few weeks ago and they advised after a fire make sure you throw anyway the babies toys especially the non washable ones as they can absorb the smoke and then the child adsorbs it and sadly they can pass away from it. So please get new toys for little one. I dont mean to worry you i just thought i should tell you, and i am so glad you are all ok.

glad you and dd are ok, you might need to sit and talk to her about all of it (when you're ready) as otherwise it could live with her for a long time.

hope the damage isnt too bad.

MarsLady · 25/10/2005 20:46

Thank God for neighbours.

Hope it all works out for you.

KristinaM · 25/10/2005 20:46

yes he does think it might be faulty.

do you have teh receipt or other proof of purchase? It doenst matter that it was cheap as long as it was bought new.

when did you last use teh oven and what did you cook in it?

was there any oil in teh oven? perhaps from a spill?

you mean 220 degrees C or F?

Where did you buy teh fish?

am glad your all safe - wow, what a shock.

zippy539 · 25/10/2005 20:55

Bloody nora - Aimsmum!!! What a horrible fright! I'm so glad you are all okay. It sounds like you were really calm - we had a fire in our stairwell once (not in the actual flat) and I was in such a panic that when I phoned 999 I couldn't remember our address!!!). Well done you.

sweetkitty · 25/10/2005 21:07

bloody hell aimsmum what a fright you and DD must have got?

So sorry to hear about your kitchen too, what a nightmare, glad you are both OK though thats the main thing.

KristinaM · 25/10/2005 21:13

Dh thinks cooker was faulty and was probably hotter than it shoudl have been. teh electrician wont have checked this but it can be. even tho cooker appears destroyed. very important it is kept - also whatever is inside.

suggest you approach a lawyer for legal aid. laywer will comission expert report. you need to take photos of cooker, oven, inside oven and all damage now.

you may have a case against teh manufacturer of teh cooker. you might get back teh money for all teh damage so keep a note of everything

Does you mum knwo the fire investigation people at hamilton? they will be able to help and point you in teh right direction
