A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

Cheers all!

May I join you in a hot choc with all teh toppings. Boy is currently sleeping. I figure he may as well have a decent nap before lunch if hes feeling rubbish.
These kids just don;t know how to take it easy tho do they. he was bouncing around making birthday cards and refused to watch more than one thomas story at a time on video.
Jacks- OUCH. eye waterin description missus. best wishes for a speedy full recovery.

I'm going to start the soup offering for today- I offer you spicy thai style chicken noodle soup. Very yum, dh made it last night wile I was off yogaing.I will go to keep fit class tonight- so at least I'm getting out in the evenings. Tis awkward not being able to take boy anywhere where there are other people. I've run out of stamps and the snack shop at dhs work don't sell them.

Colours- have no idea. I wear black quite a bit, and t-shirts in assorted colours. I'm not a classy dresser.

UniS · 11/02/2009 12:34

Amber- sorry I'm a slow typist. My sympathys to you and your dh. I hope things work out OK and you and he cope with the experience.
Its Ok to take notes, refer to notes and ask for things to be writen down spelt correctly so you can look them later.

Racingsnake · 11/02/2009 12:58

Only a few seconds to type as it is lunch time at school and I shouldn't even be looking. Yes, that is RacingPig as (s)he looks in RL. In the tea room, appearances may vary.

People always tell me RS looks French, but I assume that is because they know.

Having now seen the beautiful Milk, may summon up coruage to look at others' children, as long as I can be sure I don't get a glimpse of any adults involved to shake my grasp on reality as I perceive it.

Amber - thinking of you. Not even sure if this is a situation for the bunny, but have an encouraging wave. (Feel you would not like a ((hug)) but not sure why).

amber32002 · 11/02/2009 13:16

Virtual hugs are absolutely fine

Luckily I did two years of part time work in the wards when younger plus St John Ambulance stuff, so I've already looked up every conceivable thing about this. Makes it easier for me to know what's ahead before some consultant half my age tries to explain it to me, and it means I can forewarn dh too.

Very good hot choc, thanks muchly

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 13:25

amber - it is quite possible I am being extremely dim - is this to do with his gastric wotsit or something else that I've missed?

UniS · 11/02/2009 13:26

I take my hat off to you amber- a virtual hat that is, being taken off as a gesture of admiration . personally I stuggle with medical spellings, not having a clue how to spell something makes it hard to look up. Tis annoying when the Drs look abut 12 isn't it. I guess we must all be getting old :-).

off to wake the boy. maybe he will like a lewd roll.

amber32002 · 11/02/2009 13:43

A gastric whatsit? No, he doesn't have one of those. He's in hospital having had a bleed on the brain. May need an operation. May not. Depends what they find.

But he's cheerful

daisy99divine · 11/02/2009 13:57

oh Amber darling, I had no idea about your poor DH, I must have missed posts or perhaps you have not told the tearoom yet?

Lots of virtual hugs and stuff - do you have anyone to help out in case you both get wobbly with all the people and stress of the situation?

((((many virtual hugs and you certainly need the rabbit)))

UniS sounds that boy is doing well! they are extraordinary aren't they!

Thumb and Racing wave!

Will clock back later to hear how JM is and how much MJ ate for brekky
the things that make my day

I am wearing pink today. Not sure if it's my colour or not...

And I had my hair cut yesterday. Came in

DaisyBoy: Oh, Mummy's got lovely new hair!

DH: Wow, that looks weird!

I ask you! Even the dog is a boy, what did I do???

I'm sorry Amber - I trawled back a few days and I thought he had a gastric whatsit a few days back - twas the only thing I could see - this is a bit different of course! When did the bleed happen? Over the weekend? if he is happy and with it then let's hope nothing serious has been affected.
lots of unMNly (((((((hugs)))))))) to you all and I hope his scans are good.

daisy99divine · 11/02/2009 14:46

ok, it's not a rabbit with a pancake but I have put up my photos....

Racing you will want to avoid photo 3 which shows half of me and photo 4 which shows all of me, looking rather mad, but I am taking DaisyBoy to his first day at nursery and since you were wll here with me on that fateful day I thought you might like to see us in action!

OP posts:
ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 14:59

I can only see 3 photos - am starting to wonder what is going on - I had similar probs with Racingsnake and T42's pics too!

daisy99divine · 11/02/2009 15:52

ok, I have worked out the problem
photos won't allow mumsnet mates although it is an option
all four photos are now up for mumsnet viewers, try again Thumb if you really want to see me looking mad and off to nursery!

mistlethrush · 11/02/2009 17:12

I like the photos - although why was Daisyboy looking so serious in one of those?

Amber - lots of positive vibes coming your way.

I managed to avoid most of the wintry weather today which was good, although it was still really cold.

daisy99divine · 11/02/2009 17:26

not sure why DB looking serious - in the looking down one, my closest to an arty shot, I think he was contemplating a trampoline!

how was MJs breakfast today? we had motorbike capering and banana stuffing to avoid weetabix

Good (woozy) morning all - I still haven't managed to read backwards enough to catch up on the last few days so not sure what all is going on but ((((((HUGS)))))) to Amber for your DH, to mistle for your DH's lack of job hunting, and anyone else who needs them. Racingsnake and Daisy, your DC's are lovely!!!
Woke up feeling quite sore this morning but I think it's because no lovely night nurse came along at 3 am to top up my meds... Percocet has now kicked in and I'm feeling very floaty. Must go have sitz bath soon - which feels very nice...
Love to all of you, I may be back later.
xxx

mistlethrush · 11/02/2009 18:04

Daisy - breakfast worked again - seems to be better as 2 portions in a small ramekin rather than the same amount in one bowl (phycological no doubt ) and the 'watching the clock' (and, hopefully, getting a bit more of an idea about clocks and reading the time at the same time) does seem to be working a bit better.

JM - do please take it easy! And make sure you keep up to date with pain meds - much better that way! (((hugs)))

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 18:07

Thanks daisy - I don't think you look mad though! And DB is very sweet.

DontCallMeBaby · 11/02/2009 19:15

DD on profile now. Still absolutely no sign of moi.

cmotdibbler · 11/02/2009 19:51

Hugs for Amber and JM

Still confused about colours...

Lovely photos of DD's, and Racingpig is just gorgeous.

I got up at 4am, and then wondered why people who had a choice in the matter would get flights that involved being at the airport at 5am. Especially with children

I know what with us all living here there and everywhere it seems a bit of a silly thing to say BUT I need to say it just incase - If there is anything any of us can do just say. SERIOUSLY!!!

wowza - daisyboy is luuuurvely - I think he looks more like a cool Australian surfer boy than a Londoner - it is that gorgous hair that does it!

DCMB - Your dd has such a lovely cheeky smile and - ch...ch...ch...cheeeeeck out the snowman!!!

On other news - going straight from bum sex thread to thread about doughnuts (lots of references to warm rings) is probably not advisable. Funny tho.
