A warm welcome to everyone, whether you have one child, none, or ten. This is a tea-and-muffin or booze-and-sofasorcanapees sanctuary for all. But certain standards of behaviour continue to apply - anyone engaging in fisticuffs will be ejected by George Clooney, ably assisted by Mellors the Gardener.

Cheers all!

Racingsnake have you opened up for public view? Cos I can't see that you even have a profile, let alone photos.

Racingsnake · 10/02/2009 22:30

Oh. I uploaded photos and took ages listing 'mumsnet mates'. Off to try again.

mistlethrush · 10/02/2009 22:30

DCMB - S'bys does grey trousers - I know as I bought some for MJ there - they come in at least 3 shades of grey, have elasticated pull on waist with an adjustable size waist size. Have just bought the next size up (4) for MJ (today) as he is growing out of the length (although, as I need the 'charcoal' colour I could only find one pair ). I actually think that they seem to wear slightly better than M&S ones.

Racingsnake · 10/02/2009 22:44

Now have profile. Smug

mistlethrush · 10/02/2009 22:46

Ahh Wrigglesnake!!!

Racingsnake · 10/02/2009 22:50

Did it work??????

ThumbLoveWitch · 10/02/2009 23:01

Oh WOW! Isn't she an absolute pet? And is that racingpig there as well?

Awwwwww, am quite keen on having a wee girly now (next round of ttc coming up starting tomorrow - DH is girding his loins and getting some sleep!)

UniS · 10/02/2009 23:03

Gosh- is That Racing pig?? Or just a relative of his?

Popped back before powering down. Dh now immersed in a science book.
Boobs- merely average in that dept myself. got up to 36 E while boy was breast fed, now back to 36 C/ D depending on the cut.

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 10/02/2009 23:03

Taking things in reverse order ....

Yes, racingsnake it did! The photos are lovely. Assuming that is you in the photo and that you really are the age you claim to be on your profile, I have the following observations to offer:

Wrigglesnake is an absolute poppet
Racingpig is a very handsome critter too
Ditto Dastardly (or is that Muttley?)
You do not look your age and neither are you horrendously ugly

And excellent news about the vacuum cleaner!

DCMB - Sadly, I can't advise on the Johnny Loulou shades of grey as we are a navy school. But it has also occurred to me that the stretch within the jersey may help to accommodate DCMBBaby's bootylicious bottom (those and vast norks run in my family too, although the bootyliciousness seems to diminish a bit with every generation and the norks sometimes skip a generation - my grandmother and I were blessed with a superabundance whereas my mother has a more average endowment).

Mistlethrush and UniS - Am feeling Scarborough envy now!

So who'll help me with this champagne?

ThumbLoveWitch · 10/02/2009 23:10

I can't see any pics of racingsnake, only 4 of her delectable DD! Am i missing something?

ThumbLoveWitch · 10/02/2009 23:12

Dammit - didn't mean to be rude, MadBad - I'll have my customary please!

I've had a leetle more wine than usual this eve - there I was with my normal spritzer, hadn't quite finished it, when DH let one go and I had to get out my anti-stench spray. On replacing it, I clipped the top of my glass which promptly exploded and deprived me of 2 mouthfuls. Well, on the strength of that, I had to have another half-spritzer!

TrulyMadBadandDeeply · 10/02/2009 23:43

Glug, glug, slosh!

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 00:04

ah thanks MadBad - that's great.
Tonight's indulgence is some G&B caramel and nut icecream - anyone want some? It's lush...

JacksmamasLittleBundleOfLOve · 11/02/2009 02:26

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello. I'm back from hospital and feeling ok - well, truthfully, like I've been kicked in the crotch but I guess that's to be expected. I'm stoned out of my gourd on Percocet so this will be brief, in a minute I will probably slip sideways with a silly grin on my face.
The repair went well apparently, my lovely Dr. Williams said it ended up being much more extensive than she'd anticipated because they did such a shit job sewing me up last year after Jackbaby's birth - apparently there was a lot of healthy vaginal mucosa curled into the scar which is why I've felt tugging up inside me every time I've sat down since last year, and there was a granulomatous polyp that had formed in the scar and extended into the bulbocavernosus muscle. So she excised the entire scar including the polyp, undermined the tisse and pulled a mucosal flap over and stitched it up with about a hundred tiny stitches. She said everyone in theatre was most impressed and that it was quite an artistic repair. Considering how frightened I was of being back in hospital it was a very positive experience, everyone was lovely, from Admitting, to pre-op, recovery and the ward. I paid for a private room and had two very sweet student nurses looking after my every need. Missed Jackbaby like crazy - I'd never been away from him overnight, but I was glad to be in hospital and resting completely because it was quite sore after. But I'm home now and being pampered by my mum and DH. Feeling a bit sleepy and wobbly so will say goodnight and maybe pop in tomorrow.
xxx

DontCallMeBaby · 11/02/2009 08:10

Right, priorities:

JM - that all sounds really positive (but also very scary and very full of big words, I have read carefully with only one eye open in order to concentrate). I hope the kicked-ness wears off nice and quickly for you.

RS - so IS that racingpig? Obviously that's wrigglesnake and she is adorable but I am strangely thrilled to think I may be seeing the actual virtual guinea pig we've been sitting on hanging out with all this time.

MadBad - argh, I was about to say I would order those JL trousers anyway as it's free p&p but THEN I checked the availability. It's the same all over - you can have school uniform if your child is 3 or 15+, not in between. Cribbs it is.

I've been to Scarborough twice - so much weather. I used to correspond with a bloke working up there who used to sign off 'greetings from a grey and misty Scarborough', then his next email five minutes later would be 'bright and sunny', then 'damp and drizzley', I had to go there to appreciate that he wasn't exaggerating!

teafortwo · 11/02/2009 08:57

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my pics!!! It was fun to share.

I have fallen completely in love with wrigglesnake - what fantastic fun loving eyes... and from a woman who knows she really does have a bit of a oh la la French look about her!

JM - Welcome back and oooohhhh aaaaawwww ooooooooouch! For you - your report made my toes curl and even eyes water!

madbad - your use of the word 'bootyliciousness' has led me to suspect you are not as old as you claim to be but instead are a youthful and bouncing slip of a young thing dressed up as an old lady (I have an image of a Mrs Merton or the Granny in the Kumars character being the mastermind behind madbad's computer)! - hmmmm and all this time you had us fooled !!!

teafortwo · 11/02/2009 09:50

I want to tell someone who will smile and i think you all will - dd is having a nap - she just woke up and said...

"Little Mouse - ok?" Then went back to sleep.

mistlethrush · 11/02/2009 10:07

JM glad to hear all going well and that it sounds as though a good repair was made. and at having to have repair done in the first place, but that it went as well as can be expected. Make sure you really do do as little as possible and get waited on as it will speed your recovery and make you feel better sooner.

I did manage to read all the way through without squirming too much. Unlike hearing about the repair to my father's detached retina... do not view if squeemish or eating breakfast... This has to be done under local so that you can see everything that's happening with the eye that they are working on

Clock watching went well again this morning. As did saving the yoghurt for the second small bowlful.

Dh had to be given another kick last night - 'any jobs to apply for today?' - 'No, the only ones I saw were ones I've already applied for'. Me, 2mins later having 'googled' IT jobs in our area - what about xxx in town - posted today - 'sounds interesting' - what about yyy posted today 'sounds interesting' - why haven't you kept an eye on this website - I have told you it looked good - you need to check it at least every 2 days - 'mumble mumble mumble....' !!!! . You would have thought that someone looking for IT jobs would have managed to work out how to use Google by now!

Will probably drop in later - out for the day again today.

daisy99divine · 11/02/2009 11:10

Morning all!

JM delighted that all seems well and what a wonderful doctor and experience you have had but agree its that you needed it in the first place - heh ho.

RAcing - love the photos - was it really Racing Pig? I too am delighted at prospect and a bit grrr cos I still can't get my photos to work!

Tea, love your photos but a bit freaked you are not called Tea in RL!

To all others -

  • never been to Scarb, only Blackpool.
  • Delighted hoover is working.
  • My norks went up to only a 40/B - my back got VERY big and are now back to I guess sort of 35/36 AA
  • only Johnny LouLou experience I have is trying to order a painting smock for DaisyBoy - still waiting after 2 months!
  • not sure what colour I am probably spring...

right, coffee and go go go!!!

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 12:03

hello all!
JM, glad to hear you had a positive experience and so glad your repair went well - let's hope things start to feel normal pretty quick!
The worst repair I had heard about before was a friend of mine - when they stitched her up they managed to stitch part of her piles into it! poor girl was in absolute agony but they repaired it within a month. You have to wonder what the people doing the repairs practise on - and why they are seemingly so crap so often!

Anyone fancy a nice thick hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles?

amber32002 · 11/02/2009 12:13

Hot Choc sounds good, having spent much of the last two days at the hospital with dh.

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 12:19

how is he amber?

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 12:20
amber32002 · 11/02/2009 12:23

He's very cheerful, but this is before we have the specialist scans etc, so goodness knows how all of this will work out in the end. I'm keeping praying.
